It’s time for yet another week of ANTM! Can you believe the competition is nearly over? This year’s group has already been whittled down to 3 of each gender. Make sure you vote wisely for this week’s photoshoot, as the winners of the polls will be in the top 2. A very prestigious position, indeed. Well then, let’s start off with this week’s challenge. I can only hope the casualties are kept to a minimum. |

EPISODE 06 CHALLENGE

The three challenge judges stand before the remaining six models, who at this point are starting to get a little exhausted from the constant challenges and photoshoots. Let’s not forget the stress from seeing the infamous Bloopers Video released for the world to see. Clearly, life as a model isn’t easy.
Overcooled triumphantly waves an envelope in the air, only for it to turn into a flock of both doves and bats. They float towards the ceiling, spelling out the name of the challenge, which the judges all say in unison. “Dark vs Light!” You can bet it took weeks to rehearse that one (and catch enough animals).
“The girls will represent light and the boys will represent dark.” Kyokai explains further, “Now go backstage and put together an outfit to impress us!”
The usual rush backstage, followed by several minutes of screaming and odd noises commences and, finally, everyone is ready to step out onto the stage and obtain the votes of the three judges. Nino starts off the ‘light’ theme, looking quite confident and determined for once (as opposed to her typical sleepiness). She’s wearing Hoshi’s star-shaped mask as well as at least 4 boxes worth of Christmas lights. She starts waving her arms in a sort of interpretive dance that we can only assume is supposed to represent how light travels. The judges just stare in quiet shock as she eventually wobbles her way offstage.
“That was a bit…literal.” Zabobinator comments wearily, “Nino really has a weird and unique way of-”
She’s cut off by a blinding light from the next contestant. Senjougahara stands with her hands on her hips, wearing the most reflective clothes she could find. It’s so bright that it’s impossible to discern what it is she’s wearing. Is that just the white censor beam of light because she’s naked? WHAT’S EVEN HAPPENING HERE?!
No one is sure how she looked, and it’s only after she’s gone that everyone can open their eyes to see. Maybe the judges should do a better job explaining the themes next time. Last for the girls is Stocking who is wearing an appropriate angel oufit…except it is completely in black.
“…It’s sad when this is the closest we have to the actual theme.” Kyokai sighs, writing a few notes on the paper in front of her, “Let’s go on, bring the bishies out!”
Gintoki is the first one to step on stage for the dark theme. He’s wearing a samurai outfit, and he plods forward slowly but thoughtfully. A dark aura is practically radiating from his pores, and the sword in his hand looks like it could cut the cameraman in two any second. He slowly looks up at the judges, a dark look in his eyes.
“…Please put your eyes back down.” Zabobinator cuts in, totally deadpan, “Please.” Gintoki seemed to have thought that dark eyeliner would be the perfect touch to his near perfect outfit, but didn’t seem to realize the ‘dripping down your face like trails of ink’ look wasn’t very flattering.
Next up is Rin, who is wearing his normal attire. He flashes an impish grin before suddenly unsheathing a sword and erupting into a mass of blue flames. With a tail, claws, pointed ears and teeth and all those…flames…he looks like he’s got the whole dark thing down. Actually, maybe it’s a bit too good, because the stage is melting.
Seeing the dilemma before him, Natsume runs out onto the stage carrying a book in his hands. He seems to call out to someone and within seconds, a strange demon thunders onto the stage, pins Rin to the ground to minimize the damage… except the stage can’t take the combined weight and just collapses.
“They are. So. Disqualified!” Kyokai huffs angrily.

I’m not sure what I was thinking when I thought the casualties would be a bit lower than usual. ANYWAYS, Congratulations Stocking and Gintoki for not completely destroying the set or being overly…creative. Moving on, we’ve got the much awaited Crossover photoshoot, where boundaries are broken, 4th walls demolished and chaos let loose like a dragonite using hyperbeam. Enjoy the shoot, and vote wisely! |

So, this time we have multiple shots for you to chew on rather than a single one. Even if the challenge was more of a crash and burn, the photo shoot spanned a few days and in different locations so that the models could ‘feeeel’ the skin they are wearing. They are sure becoming a handful but things are winding down and you know what to do. VOTE WISELY! I’m shortening the voting days to finish this on time so deadline is 12th December, 2011. Make this one count for the battle royal in the episode that will decide WHO’s ON TOP! Vote it up~ |

Senjougahara is still awesome even in crossovers. More power to the Staple gun Queen. Which anime was she mixed in with anyway?
Rin would be a good addition in Fullmetal Alchemist, a great second in command to Sebastian in Black Butler but he’s perfect to be alongside Black Rock Shooter. He should be in it. After all they basically have the same power.
