Nichijou – 04
And now back to the Aioi and Mai show!
Another week and that means MORE NICHIJOU! Last week was kind of boring for me as far as the laughs go, aside from the talking cat causing chaos for Nano and Hakase. Hopefully, this week we’ll get some over the top crazy stuff to happen during the episode. Anyway, time to review this beast!
Plot this week follows more fun with Aioi and Mai with Mio left out of the fun. Hakase and Nano shop for food and buy a snow man! Yes, a snow man and make snow cones, also we get some fun with Sakamoto and Hakase near the end.
Moe teacher! Walking and eating… So impressive!
Sasahara-“The sun just exploded due to me being so awesome.”
Hakase-“How does this cart with wheels work? I MUST FIND OUT!!”
JACKPOT!! Hakase has good eyes.
Hakase and Nano go shopping for food and find something strange for sale, a small snow man, which they buy. Sadly, they forgot to get Sakamoto some food and ended up feeding him a snow cone. Clearly, cats love that don’t they? That scene was fun at the store, aside from Hakase throwing a tantrum to get her way, hahaha! Well, she is only eight so I can forgive her.
Hakase has such impressive drawing skills!
Sakamoto-“WHERE’S MY DAMN FANCY FEAST, DAMN IT!”
We then join Aioi in the middle of taking a test, but she seems to be very distracted thanks to Mai doing some random things during class. Like standing on her desk and lying down in the classroom; she is crazy! Maybe the tests are getting to her? Hahah.
Mai is too smart to do any tests!
It’s time to wake up from the dream world there, Aioi!
After the awesome trolling from Mai, we visit Hakase and Sakamoto! As she plays around with a plant to tease Sakamoto with, he tries to maintain his cool bossy role with Hakase. Sadly, his plans are foiled and he ends up giving into his cat urges, falling victim to the distractions. Near the end of this episode, Mai is reading a book beside Aioi and this scene gives off some definite Yuri vibes! Mai actually “confesses” to Aioi, which Aioi falls for only to be pulled along learning it was a joke. Mai, you are the biggest troll in this series, well a moe troll.
Beware of flying cats! They love to strike helpless little girls.
Mai-“I…think I love you, Aioi.”
Aioi- “WAAHHH?! MY BODY, ISN’T READY FOR THIS!”
Are they going to kiss?! Maybe!
Mai- “Hahahaha, owned you are too easy…”
Aioi- “I can never find love!!! WHYYYYY!!!
Extra Crazy
Time to fire my railgun! Er my super awesome special gun!
Now you can erase twice as fast Aioi! GO!!
Sakamoto- “One of these days, human, I will destroy you in your sleep!”
Sasahara- “You have activated my EPIC ART TRAP CARD!”
End Thoughts:
Well, that was another fun episode this week, nice to see Sasahara getting more screen time again! That character is so strange like he belongs to another school, someone make his meet Keima from the World God Only Knows. Also, getting to see Izumi Sakurai talking to more of the students as well like that mysterious Mohawk guy, I also enjoyed how she said frilly! It sounded really cute to me. The shopping part was also nice aside from Hakase acting that way; Nano is like a mom of Hakase for the most part.
Then we had that random snowman for sale? What the hell was that! Then again do we really want to know? I guess it makes the best damn snow cones ever! I got a good laugh with Sakamoto commenting on the snow cone for his dinner, poor kitty. Then again he can be quite mean can’t he? Wonder if he will ever meet Mai? She might give him a good run with her wits, which would be quite good to see.
Now for Mai, holy crap, does she enjoy messing with Aioi?! It’s so damn funny to watch the quiet girl trick the other. Makes me wonder what Mai even does at school? She does have lots of free time to draw, probably has a notebook full of ways to trick Aioi. Did anyone else get Yuri vibes from the ending? I was like what?! Duh, it’s obviously a trap! You think Aioi would think she’ll get the hint not to hang around Mai anymore, then again where’s the fun in that?

I was also bummed that we were yuri-deprived after that tease. Well, I did expect to get trolled since it’s Nichijou, but I thought Mai was just reading her book out loud, not actively tricking Aioi lol. xD

i havent watched this episode yet but i bet that dude with the afro was in it. hes my favorite character. i usually like the characters that talk but i had instent love for the afro dude. maybe cuz im black.

i know i love the side characters the most in this show. in other anime the side characters where only there to fill up space. but in this show used for more then that, which i simpuly enjoy.
