We’re now at the final installment of The Sighs of Suzumiya Haruhi, and summing up the show this year, it had been a really controversial season overall. Endless Eight could have just been better when they literally didn’t made it up to… eight episodes -__-, while The Sighs showed the worst of Haruhi’s personality so far. But I gotta say that The Sighs was definitely the point where the show picks it up again a bit, so now let’s see now how this arc ends.
Let’s get into the talking cat Shamisen first. Haha, this cat is just full of awesome. It’s pretty much unfitting I guess for Shamisen to have a very low voice though, but that makes it more hilarious.
We also get to hear the Mikuru’s belief about Haruhi. It’s interesting on how the three ‘special’ members of the SOS Dan have different theories after all. I thought they all have one theory about it and that’s Koizumi’s, since he’s the one who’s very much vocal about it. Mikuru, on the other hand, opens up. For her, interpreted by Nagato, Haruhi just had God like powers, and thus, the world already existed before her. Moving on, I just wonder what if Koizumi finds out about their different beliefs though.
One of the many left mysteries in this season: Is Haruhi an actual tsundere or not? =P
Summing up this “second season” lead me to a facepalm just like Kyon above. It felt like there had only been 8-9 episodes worth watching actually. But I still gotta give props on the animation quality because it got better on the later parts of The Sighs, up until this episode.
Let’s see if this season will harm the franchise though because of so much negative reactions it received form fans, and I wonder when will a new season start, if ever it’ll come in two years or three years again (nooo) OR next week (LOL), I would be very much excited for The Disappearance.
