MetaFap: Fall ’15 – 25 [NSFW]
Lots of fun things to enjoy this week.
Time for Metafap! Sadly Shinmai Maou only has five episodes left, but we might as well enjoy it right? Also things got super weird on Valkyrie Drive this week…

I’ve got two slices of Sample this week, don’t get to full…

Shinmai Maou no Testament Burst – 05
Kurumi-“God damn it Shinji get in the freaking robot.” Maria-“Wrong anime bro.”
Well damn it did not take long for Zest to join Basara’s harem thanks to Maria’s mom who is always fun to watch! Then again the opening practically revealed that Zest was going to join eventually, but that wasn’t even the highlight of the episode for me! I’m probably the only one that liked that whole city battle or did you like it? It was great to see the characters fighting for once instead of doing the usual ecchi scene and it also helps that those giant monster things look sorta like EVA units or Titans; however even the city battle was spoiled by the damn opening! I know most people simply see openings as just openings and they don’t related to the events of any series, but sometimes they do line up perfectly to reveal certain events especially shounen openings? Wow they are super guilty of that. Other than Zest joining the growing harem there wasn’t really a lot to actually talk about besides Ramsus helping kinda, Mio used her crazy powers, Maria and her sister fought and at the end Yahiro revealed that he is working for the enemy side? I assume he has a reason for doing that because he is always plotting something sneaky…
Zest is super cute.
Basra likes those elf ears~
Zest is having a great time.
Too bad Maria’s mom didn’t join in the fun! Maybe next time?
Yay matching outfits.
Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid – 05 [NSFW]
Kasumi-“Damn you kids and your beach volleyball!!”
Last week I was surprised to see the girls transform into vehicles last week, but this episode takes the cake on WTF-IS-GOING-ON by showing us a new character named Minimi who apparently can turn into a freaking giant!? Wow that was totally insane or was it really? Personally I’m starting to love the fact that Valkyrie Drive doesn’t care what you think about it and simply does whatever the hell it wants! You gotta give them props for taking the concept of people transforming into weapons and making it somewhat unique. Story wise it was mostly about Minami wanting to be a partner with her friend Oya after they were told no by Charlotte. Their story also opened the door for more of a relaxed episode this week thanks to the girls not being afraid of the giant girl and they learned to quickly accept her and we got a break from Mamori and Mirei for a bit and we got to see a different side to Kasumi. I wonder what will happen with Minami next time? I am curious to see how she fights later on or how anyone else plans on fighting a giant girl like her with out the use of any kind of 3D maneuver gear! sorry I had to throw in one Attack on Titan comment somewhere. So what is next for this series? What else can these girls turn into?! Is the island a person? What about the buildings and the clothes? Also who is Akira’s partner? I still think Akira is a chick, but either way I’m having fun watching Valkyrie Drive.
Giant girl also comes with giant boobs go figure.
Minimi-“Urge to eat humans rising….”
Torino got dat ass~
I love you anime.
LOL this was so hilarious.
Ore ga Ojousama Gakkou ni “Shomin Sample” Toshite Gets♥Sareta Ken – 05-06
The other girls fail to appreciate Hakua…
Kimito was pretty much on stage during the first segment only to set the stage for his noted absence. But he’s never far from the girls’ minds. For the next stage, he’s back to front and center…
…and a LOLi shall lead them…
The LOLi wake-up! Much better than meido…
Well, we start off with a window into The Rule’s of LOLi One and Two. When confronted with a typical “What do?” situation, Kimito clearly obey’s the rules and acts the total gentleman. I rather like the way the relationship between these two develops, as it’s readily apparent that Hakua is not in the running for OTP, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t have a sweet, and meaningful relationship.
The Start of Tadpole Darkness…
While it’s true that she is a still the precocious clothes-free genius, she’s far from being sheer LOLi-bait. She may have been totally flummoxed by the art of potato pancake making, and equally blitzed by the riddle games, but the time she spends with him is golden. She’s even starting to emerge from the cipher /mad scientist in waiting role as she is shown to be very embarrassed at having her own Kimito plushie when the boy himself sees it. Thats is a typical girlish reaction, and she wears it well…
Yuru Yuri is very inspirational….
But it isn’t just Kimito that has Hakua on the mind as the other three girls are starting to get jealous of her and her way of commanding the boy’s attention. All three are united in resolving this situation, but it’s kinda cute how they have to hide it behind the excuses, Karen especially as she is the only one with any particular “crime” in mind when it comes to the LOLi. But wrangling the tiny ones attention takes the energy out of them, as she’s pretty much the odd-ball cipher out of Kimit’s company. This segment was nice and smooth, and both Aika and Reika realized a nice facet in Kimito’s character in the process; paying attention is a chore…
They can’t do a thing with her…
The final segment was a bit lackluster as it was just a continuation of the Odd Couple’s fight for harem supremacy written over again from last episode. It get some points for the hand held dating game featuring Eri, Kimito’s outside-friend, and of course more sight gag points for the Dr. Pepper based lingerie shenanigans. But really it was the cameo of the Yuru Yuri manga that set up the joke and delivered it. Yeah, it was kinda natural that Aika would sympathize with Akari’s “character trait”, and of course Reika had to dive bomb it.
Don’t give in to despair Aika. Fight the Booby Monster! Channel Sakurako!
Shominland or Nothing Much About Ado
Obey the Clown…
Well this one skipped a great opportunity; at least for now. But as of right now, the grand debut of Strong Fighters 4: The Impressive Arcade Game is either on hold for next episode or is going to go into a bloody OVA at some point in the future. Outside some of the Hakua-shenanigans, it was one of the features of the manga I was looking forward to Silver Link getting around to animate.
…from cathedral to typical train station block…
But it looks like they’ve swung back around to another rather dull episode. With that I think I’ve cracked the code. Some of the more random and weird moments of the manga come of as more abstract, and the adaptation wants to deliver a literal investment in the surroundings. Which is a huge mistake, in my opinion. The point of Shominland is that it really is just like a theme park detailed specifically for it’s clientele. The only way the episode was able to give that to us was the the hint that the Max Burgers weren’t typical cheap fast food ingredients, and was specially made for the young ladies’ cultured palettes. So there was a bunch of comedy potential missed this episode. Lots of random things from that chapter was just left out wholesale, again a shame as it made the place weird to us “commoners” as much as it was to the girls.
…she made friends!
But I think it served fine as Aika’s final coming out. Just as it is in normal life, you can make friends with a good impression, and the Tsun-pure’s dance moves at the arcade was just the thing she needed to crack the ice. She almost buckled under the pressure, but recovered nicely; enough to do the customary exchange of contact info.
Which should lead us nicely into some of the upcoming arcs as each character is able to impress more and more. We’ve already seen the hint that Reika is able to use Aika’s newly found social status to make move’s on Kimito. But pity poor Karen getting left out, at least she had fun with a puppy.
Some extra samples…
Hakua get’s left behind…
You better get to this Silver Link!
The fifth one was pretty much the most perfect episode of the show so far. When they allow the characters time to express themselves, the light comedy routines come of in the natural way that they should. The first segment was the best in those terms, and that really elevated Hakua above what she has been presented as previous. It was a good idea to break the characters away from the harem MC to see how they operate on their own. It does rather fail the silly Bechdel Test as the girls only end up talking about him anyway.
But this was followed by a rather wan effort in Shominland. I hope they follow through on it next week, as I really want to see that goofy Strong Fighters game animated. From the previews it very much looks like we will get to the Grade A Thighs scene, along with some onsen tomfoolery.
Next Time: Karen’s thighs and Aika’s collarbones…

Shinmai Maou no Testament Burst – 05: Yep, it’s finally come to pass. Zest joins the group and it couldn’t have happened soon enough! Her contract initiation scene is the most borderline hentai-esque one yet. Those kinds of scenes are especially raunchy when the location is the bathroom. No doubt research was made prior. I see she so lost herself in ecstasy her claws were all along Basara’s back. If she ever made the mistake to dig them in, things would get very painful.
The second half did good by action standards. Mio disobeying warnings to come to the rescue was seen miles away but the girl proves she’s no one to scoff at with the insane show of power. To think she was ready to tear Zolgia apart last season with this ferocity.
I know I’m not the only thinking it but I’ll say it anyway. The whole town where the battle took place screamed Attack on Titan. If that wasn’t already enough, we had giants causing the chaos.
Rukia is sexy in her succubus outfit. Here’s to hoping of never seeing the maid dress again in favor of sticking with it. Though the odds of that are slim.

Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid – 05 [NSFW]: “Weird” doesn’t sum it up enough. This was out of the box and downright bizarre. They call the strain the “Arm Virus”, a person becoming an actual weapon, so I have a hard time seeing Minimi’s particular condition fitting into the factor. I guess from a certain point of view you can call her a weapon if she’s personally causing damage with her own arms and legs.
I knew it! Looking at the episode’s events, how it was done, I knew someone would eventually throw in an Attack on Titan reference. It’s like a disease. And it will only get worse when the second season arrives. 😛

Valkyrie Drive: it’s official–this anime has taken the giant boobs on many of its characters to a ridiculous extreme. Or maybe it’s to the logical conclusion. Minimi certainly isn’t a Mini-me (sorry, couldn’t resist).

Shomin Sample: Episode 5 was the best so far, making it about as good as an average episode of anime production-wise. I don’t think it’s because I was distracted by an underwear fight, but that’s possible, because the timing on other parts was still subpar, especially Hakua’s taking forever with the riddles.
And then Episode 6 once again dropped the ball. Once again, we get the joke, already. All the cuts are too long, all the situations are dragged out far past the point of being interesting, and leave you with just this feeling of “ok, we get it, can we move on now?” Aika’s hesitance is the main source of this, but all of the scenes fall victim to it. And the show is awful, just atrocious, at expressing clearly what Reika’s mood is. Every mood is “grumpy” or “happy”, there’s no nuance at all, even when there is. We just can’t tell at all.

I will disagree with your take on Hakua and the riddles as I thought they were just fine. This wasn’t really a moment of comedy, but rather the playful nature between the two.
But yeah, they dropped the ball back down the well they found it by the sixth episode.

I’ve noticed that…
You’ve hit OVER 9000!!!
POWUH: and LOLi Defender with 10998 comments
Well look at that. I rather did. I’m afraid I’ve not payed much attention to it about 2000 or so comments ago. Kinda like I lost track that my last post was my 250th solo post. But yeah, that’s a big number…..
….yeah….

Even if it was not a moment of comedy, that doesn’t mean that it needs to drag out the way it did. I get what you’re saying, but like everything in the show, they made Hakua’s “thinking about it” go on too long, probably by half.
And I’m realizing that there’s just no cohesive character for Kimito. He’s solely a reactive character, and although that’s probably something close to the norm, he’s never ever in a position where he has to make a decision. So we have no idea what he would actually do in any situation that needs some initiative. It just makes him an even flatter character than most.
