  1. Di Gi Kazune says:

I just want Felia only. That will be enough. :3

    • BlackBriar says:

Di Gi Kazune vs skylion for custody of the loli! Everyone, place your bets!

  2. BlackBriar says:

Aha! So this is what IreneSharda sounds like. I’ve been waiting quite a while for the Athenaeum Châtelaine to be in the hot seat since she joined the Meta Team and I had yet to be appeased. Better late than never! 😛

    • Foshizzel says:

You would have heard her, Kyon and Samsura earlier with the new blood recording, but sadly the audio was all messy! Maybe one day we can try again lol

    • IreneSharda says:

Glad to oblige. I did do the fresh meat one too, but that one never aired. Was it all you hoped for? 😛

Heavy Object – 02: Well, that escalated quickly. Given that the Baby Magnum was the mascot of the show, I know it’d be unfair and biased story wise for it to not sustain any damage but I didn’t give thought of it being destroyed, especially this early. This is only the second episode. The curiosity just jumped a couple of notches wanting to know where this is going.

Home base suffered hell. Leveled in a matter of minutes. A lot happened pretty fast with extravagant destruction. I must admit I was almost wound up as much as everyone actually experiencing it. What exactly did they do to deserve such brutal treatment? Everything happened out of the blue.

Our protagonist trio is doing well so far. Qwen shows he has backbone to go with his brains when the situation calls for it. Those headshots were precise, the bastards with their ill intentions had it coming and Havia makes good backup. There’s merit to both their logic. Qwen wanting to save Milinda because he values a person’s life and Havia’s logical but cold reasoning in using someone’s else’s sacrifice to live another day. The fact you can agree with either one makes it conflicting to come to a conclusion. Milinda has started to become interesting. Hollow to me in opening episode, I see she’s very self-aware. I never would’ve guessed she’d peg herself as a narcissist as much as her self-description indicated in her emotional state.

    • Foshizzel says:

Heavy Object: Yeah I was a but surprised seeing Baby Magnum defeated so fast, but at the same time it’s great to know Milinda isn’t a pro object pilot.

Probably just in the way I guess or the waterstrider’s pilot doesn’t play by the rules I guess?

It also helps that Qwen had those smart bullets! All you do is lock onto something and pull the trigger and you win! Still it was great to see him step up without crying about killing someone during war time.

    • IreneSharda says:

I kind of got wound up too. It was actually a tension filled scene since I didn’t see it coming. The tone had completely shifted from the more lighthearted first episode, At one point we’re doing seatbelt hijinks and the next people are getting mowed down in cold blood. I don’t know how many war crimes this thing committed, but it was a heck of a lot.

Heavy Object: I’m still waiting for a guest appearance by Sarah Palin and the rest of the Palin clan.

“I loved that maverick of a surprise attack, because it’s so mavericky, and we Palins stand for the maverick!”

  5. skylion says:

Heavy: Even with all that front-loaded exposition of the first episode we still don’t know much about this world. Which is a shame, as we know there are stakes, but are left to only speculate the details. That’s not a good move on the show’s part. The character’s are left to do all the heavy lifting, none of them are that well drawn yet. I complain about telling and not showing, but HO has yet to tell much. With all that aside, I am liking these characters, wacky names and all, and am willing to follow along. Especially since they are going to “hack” that Water/Snow Strider.

Comet: Yeah, there’s romance in the air Sam, you’ll just have to cope…and I love Irene’s pronunciation of Kaon, it makes me think of Fuwa Fuwa.

Well, they were able to interweave the A and B story. But here it felt really clumsy. We instantly side with the “heartwarming/Felia” part of the story, and that makes the Military/Gus part seem random. But where Sam points out, about how they dole out the world details. That’s a plus. I like how they concentrate on the people first, and the history is painted in broad strokes enough that we can get it without having it being spelled out.

I like how weird Felia and Moura are. I don’t think that Felia is Lucifer, at least not with what we know now; just that the parallel is being drawn. But I’ll build on what Fosh says, and the Fall is “incomplete”. Someone wanted a devil, and they ended up getting the angel. What do? Yeah, Fosh, she needs to outgrown this baby stage cause that will get annoying right quick.

And going on Irene, I hope they build up on that creation myth thing, and have it bridge to the main characters. Don’t know about Roman yet, as he hasn’t really outgrown his part of the Runaway Bride trope; he’s just at a stand still now. Maybe’s Sam’s idea is on point; the power structure being Wise Men over Military over the town.

Orphans: All I can say is: Holy Crap if this show can off three LOLi in it’s run, I will be both impressed and pissed. Not the first time Okada has mucked with my emotions.

    • Foshizzel says:

Heavy: Yeah I can somewhat agree that they really haven’t shown you much of the outside world only that there are Objects fighting other Objects for territory, but I hope things pick up soon or most watchers will start dropping the series…

Comet: I kinda agree with both Sam and Irene on the “romance” I don’t really want it to be a thing, but at the same time I guess it wouldn’t really hurt the series I guess? I just hope the romance feels somewhat real without the need of force from the writers.

Yeah Felia is fine atm! I just hope it doesn’t take six or seven episodes to figure out what she really is and what her purpose is? Is she a savior or destroyer? If she really is a “devil” like character then that would be very interesting.

True that would make Roman a cooler character if he has a bigger role outside of “I WANNA MERRY YOU GIRRRLLL.”

Orphans: LOL I feel ya I am going to do my best to not get attached to any of the girls even though I like Atra a lot.

    • IreneSharda says:

Heavy Object: I hope they just keep this up and don’t backtrack. I would like to get to know the world a little more. I do feel like we barely know anything about it despite all the exposition. And the fact that we’ve been stuck out in the Alaskan tundra doesn’t help matters.

Comet: I just pronounced her name the way I saw it, though it’s probably more of a short ‘a’ than a long ‘a’ in the Japanese pronunciation. 😛
It is a show where I’m not even sure the military is the bad guys or not. Felia might be good or evil time will tell.
I would like to get a full idea of that legend says. It was really obtuse when the old guy was talking about it.

Orphans: I hope they all don’t get killed either, but it’s a distinct possibility. But then again, without them, we’d really only have one female character in this show of consequence. I have no idea why none of these recent Gundam militaries have no women in them, but hopefully one will show up.

  6. BlackBriar says:

Comet Lucifer – 02: One thing I’m glad was cleared up quickly was the mech operation. During the fight, I couldn’t tell whether it was acting on its own or somehow being crudely controlled by Sogo. It never occurred to me the mech was a sentient, transformable being.

Wow, you can actually take Roman seriously when he isn’t hell-bent on marrying some poor girl off against her will. Honestly, he surprised me with his choices and methods to conceal Felia until they know more about her. Right off the bat, I pegged him as the sleezeball, backstabbing type that would’ve sold her out for anything he finds beneficial. But hey, everyone agrees why he chose that way and it’s sensible, so who’s going to object?

That psychopathic kid at the end threw me for a loop. He kills a handful of guards then he’s all chummy with Gus. That’s a type you’d do well to watch out for. If I had to compare him to a similar character, it would be Valvrave’s Q-vier.

    • Foshizzel says:

Comet: Probably protecting Felia, but Sogo was supplying the magic I guess? Thats how I was thinking about it.

Well like Irene I feel Roman will be somewhat better later on down the road.

Yeah either Q-ver or L-elf fits for the crazy kid.
