Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis – 04

Bahamut (6)

Amira-“What are we doing today?”             Favaro-“The same thing we always do! KILL STUFF!”

Yep in case you were wondering Shingeki no Bahamut is going to be passed around to a few writers just like SAO 2 which is cool because this series is so damn fun! I swear every time I boot up an episode I just can’t help but grin like crazy and I guess it has something to do with the fun nature of the series so far and it helps to have a very fun cast of characters that play off each other so well.

Adventures on the high seas!

Bahamut (4)

Rita-“NO TIME TO EXPLAIN! GOTTA GO FAST!”            Kaisar-“I think I’m gonna be sick.”

Forget the life of being a bounty hunter! Favaro and friends are becoming pirates this week as he continues to try and lead Amira to Helheim which is going to be the theme of each episode aka how does Favaro come up with a plan to keep Amira around before she figures out the truth? That said this episode gave us some surprising backstory on Favaro’s past with Kaisar; however it was more focused on their fathers with one being a bandit leader and the other being a knight! That story also tied into Kaisar’s past thanks to loli-zombie Rita who asked him why he hates Favaro so much! I guess the quick version of the story is that both of their fathers ended up fighting each other due to some expensive jewels and there was also some kind of demon involved in the whole thing?

Bahamut (8)

Not so best friends.

Yeah I know that was all kinds of CRAZY for me take on at once, but everything linked together nicely through Amon who we learned had a hand in killing Favaro’s father in order to gain demonic power so yeah we might as well call the villain of the episode? Besides all of the backstories being revealed before our eyes we get our usual high flying action moments complete with a giant crab monster and the bonus addition of Rita’s zombie pirates fighting against an army of evil fish men? I swear its things like random monsters on random monster fighting that keeps me wanting more every week! Oh and that twist at the end with Amira and Kaisar being taken away by the demons was interesting and I wonder what entertainment that demon leader has planned for them? I can only guess having Amira fight Kaisar to the death? While that happened I am curious to see how Rita and Favaro team up to get their partners back.

FK YA EXTRA FANTASY

Bahamut (1)

Pancake-sama-“No you may not eat me because I am part of your imagination.”        Amira-“Damn.”

Bahamut (7)

Don’t get too close or she will bite you!

Bahamut (3)

Amira-“Stand back I am gonna ride it!”                  Favaro-“………”

Bahamut (2)

If you haven’t noticed I have food on the brain.

End thoughts

Not a bad episode this week and it felt like I was watching an anime version of the pirates of the Caribbean! Especially with the attack of the giant demon crab and surprise appearance by evil fish dudes and zombie pirates?! I have to say damn Rita is quite powerful and I can see that power coming in handy later on, but what was your favorite moment? Mine might be every time Amira said she was hungry or learning the backstory on why Favaro and Kaisar hate each other so much and the strange dog girl with the tiny dogs for hands? What is her deal? I mean I will admit she has a good character design, but the dog hand things are a bit odd.

Amira is pretty much on hungry mode by default now which is really cute. I still prefer her hair down though.

Favaro’s eye joke never gets old as well as Kaisar screaming ‘Favaro!!’ every time they meet. Nice to know more about these two and how deep their connection is.

Suddenly a giant crab. And suddenly mermen vs zombies. And suddenly a giant tentacle from the sky. I love how crazy things went in this episode and that’s a good thing.
Didn’t expect a partner swap already. Looking forward to seeing Favaro interact with Rita and how they’ll save Amira and Kaisar.
Definitely a big surprise this season and I’m enjoying it a lot.

Amira = the second coming of Index! Always hungry and quite powerful sometimes xD

Favaro and Kaizar are a great pairing and they always make me laugh.

SAME!! I love how things go from normal to OMG WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON in a matter of minutes and I can’t wait to see how Favaro and Rita act together next week.

    • Irenesharda says:

I’m wondering will they all be one big group by the end of next episode? I mean, now that all 4 have interacted with each other, and I’m going to guess that Kaisar will find out the truth about his father next week, perhaps they’ll all travel together now?

      • BlackBriar says:

That’s what I’m guessing will come to pass. The more Favaro and Kaisar see each other, the greater chance the truth gets known and odds are after that, out of his sense of chivalry, Kaisar will forgive Favaro. Especially when news that both their fathers got used and discarded gets out.

  2. JPNIgor says:

So much fun watching the chaos unfold between the sea monsters and the zombies while Favaro is hanging on a thread. This is one of the things that are most enjoyable in this show, the chaos is so weird that it just makes you laugh.

I was really hoping that with Amon revealing the truth about Favaro and Kaisar’s past, they would finally sit down and have a talk and maybe change this love-hate relationship. But noes. Demon has to go and just mess everything. For someone who was just an observer, that was a hell of an interference.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah this is one series I just love watching every week! It certainly has that addictive power to bring me back for more <3

True on Amon he could have been a great partner for Favaro, but ah well! Nobody likes demons...

    • Irenesharda says:

Well, it might actually be better this way. Kaisar probably won’t believe anything Favaro has to say, but if Amira tells him what she heard about what really went down, as well as the fact that the demon, Azazel, was the one who planned everything from the beginning, is the one that captured them, Kaisar might just find out the truth from outside sources that can help him to better believe what happened.

      • JPNIgor says:

Amira probably won’t be saying anything. She’s just too clueless to connect one thing to another to make sense of anything Kaisar-Favaro related.

  3. skylion says:

So, I’m guessing the Black Bible from last episode was actually sealing most of Rita’s insane power?

Yeah, I’ve often said this feels like a D&D game, and with crazy monster’s in, and the sudden abduction, it very much is a D&D: The Anime. What’s behind the screen, Dungeon Master?

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah I think that is the case with the black bible xD

I can totally see the D&D angle of this series.

    • Irenesharda says:

Actually, I’m wondering if she just herself has the power and she just uses conduits? I mean, when Kaisar asked her how she could use the power without the book, she just said basically, there was more than one way to get stuff done and began to use her wicked umbrella.

  4. HannoX says:

So who’s going to prove more powerful, Amira or Rita? I think the demons are going to find they’ve got more on their hands than they bargained for facing off against those two. And Favaro and Kaisar aren’t slouches themselves when it comes to fighting. Next episode promises some epic fighting.

Skylion, do you want to add Rita to your loli harem?

    • skylion says:

      …want too? I already have…

    • BlackBriar says:

He wouldn’t be the LOLi Defender if he didn’t add her. 😀

    • Foshizzel says:

In terms of power? Depends on what they are fighting id guess? Amira is more of a in your face type of fighter while Rita stands back and lets her puppet zombies do the fighting, but id say Amira is stronger.

Of course he did is that even a question? fufufu

  5. BlackBriar says:

If liking this show is a crime, feel free to lock me up because it’s too much fun! Kaisar screaming “Favaro!!” cracks me up every time. It’s like he’s announcing that he’s arrived. Amira is something else as well. In her first appearance, I’d never have pegged her as a glutton. She and Akame can be the best of friends. Anxiety is rising because I’m itching to see what Amira would do to Favaro if she ever finds out he’s been lying to her the entire time.

Fosh, how dare you befoul Rita’s epic bite scene with a sub! That came out of nowhere. 😉 Her hissing/snarling before biting the pirate gave me goosebumps so it won one of the spots for favorite moment of the episode. How would Rita and Favaro interact with each other? I have a scenario. They’d make an alliance but she’d threaten to turn him into one of her zombie slaves if he pisses her off.

Let’s see, we got pirates, zombies, mermen and a giant crab for the finisher. Who comes up with this stuff? But hell, they went all nicely together and I had that same Pirates of the Caribbean vibe. Amon reaped what he sowed when the crab ate him. What goes around comes around.

    • Foshizzel says:

Kaisar and Favaro are awesome together because they play off each other so well! Yeah agreed it cracks me up too <3

LOL I couldn't resist using her i'm gonna bite you face! Yeah good times and just like what we said on the last MetaVERSE podcast the sound effects are great!

They can add tons of monsters <3

      • BlackBriar says:

Cause you know I have thing for humanoid monsters that bite. Rita was awesome.

Wonder what other monsters the show has up its sleeves.

  6. Irenesharda says:

My gosh…WHO THE HECK IS FUNDING THIS STUFF?!

This is movie level stuff right here! That was one of the best episodes so far! Learning about Favaro and Kaisar’s past friendship and later seeming betrayal. Having Favaro also be betrayed by an old friend. We see that Favaro no longer wants to follow in his father’s footsteps, which probably has to do with what happened to Kaisar’s family. We also find that Kaisar’s father’s downfall and the stealing of the tribute were all part of some major demon (Azazel)’s plan.

We see how much of a badass both Kaisar and Rita are, and that end fight scene seemed once again right out of PotC, even down to the giant crab. I loved the zombie army, and Rita guiding them all was amazing.

I wonder who Amira’s father is? I thought it would be a demon, but I’m beginning to think it might actually be that knight we saw earlier, especially since she was looking at her necklace while wondering about her father.

Interesting that the demons don’t really know what’s going on anymore than anyone else. They are wondering if the gods or humans or even one of their own is going to get in their way. And we still don’t know why Amira is stealing the keys either.

Well, it looks like out two pair have switched partners, Amira and Kaisar being kidnapped, while Favaro and Rita are left behind.

I wonder what Kaiser shall do next week when he is confronted by the very demon that planned his father’s downfall? And what was Azazel doing locked up in some jewels in the first place? And now that they’ve mentioned him, I’m guessing we’ll be seeing Lucifer himself before this is all over…

A really awesome episode, and I’m sooo looking forward to the next one.

    • skylion says:

This was a great episode. But the last one was my favorite and best so far. But that is the awesome thing about this show. You can pick any one of the four so far, and be pretty much right that it’s tops.

What shall Kaiser do? Well, he might get kicked in the head a few times more. It’s his lot in life. But that’s a great arc going from chew toy to Big Damn Hero!

    • BlackBriar says:

My gosh…WHO THE HECK IS FUNDING THIS STUFF?!

This show is based on a card game. Anything can happen.
