While it’s obvious the story is all over the place with no proper sense of direction, I will admit the thing the show has going for it is the ability to build layers. As in the constant practice of revealing multiple conspiracies and cover-ups with backstories in tow.
Firing the bartender when he was cop for snooping around was a huge sign. Enough probable cause that there is something going behind the scenes. Jrow has a point. If anything, all that was accomplished was proving his suspicion. If I were one of the people conducting illegal experiments with the Designer Children, I would’ve seen fit to make sure he disappears without a trace. Leaving him as he is with such an amount of information, someone else is just going to finish what he started. And it looks like that someone is going to be Rita.
P.A.C is working with the Planetary Gears and is hiding the fact so of course he’s capable of lying. In fact, he’s lies to Kube’s face every time they have a conversation. It’s a risk sharing anything with a sentient machine. He may be the consciousness of one of the first two previously mentioned Designer Children.

I can agree that the story is all over the place but this week sort of filled in some blanks about how Kube takes over Macbeth and clearly he knows something is up about Puck’s involvement so maybe he is not so dumb after all?
Eventually the world will lern the truth about the Planetary Gears/designer children, Macbeth, Kube, Robin and Globe!
Yeah Puck is one of the biggest mysteries so far and I really hope we learn more about him and if he is in fact a ream machine or did he have his digital soul installed into a machine to throw Kube off his game? I am so damn curious..

For once, they decided to actually have an interesting episode. The revolving merry-go-round of Planetary Gears and their “Team Rocket” antics was getting old fast. This series has been hanging on by a thread for me for some time, but something always seems to bring me back and I decide to stay on for a little longer.
However, this was the best episode I’ve seen in a long time with this series. Finally we’re getting back to the intrigue and corporate mystery and it’s definitely refreshing. I’m beginning to think Puck is similar to VIKI in I, Robot, in that he’s orchestrating everything from every angle and that he just might be not only responsible for the whistleblower that informed everyone about what Macbeth was doing, but is also responsible for Kanda’s setup and suicide. His constant “Puck doesn’t lie.” is rather creepy.
I was genuinely surprised about what happened to Mao. It really felt that she was the one in control the whole time, so that reveal at the end was a bit of a shock. Interestingly enough, Mao was supported in her research funding by a “Robin” and Robin is also the name of the person who had her killed. So, if she was being funded by Robin and her assistant was secretly also working for Robin, was Robin just waiting for her to perfect her invention before having her killed and stealing it? The system supposedly has the ability to put a person’s consciousness into another body. It also has the ability to place a particular dream in someone else’s head. That means that this machine could be used to either brainwash someone, or even replace their consciousness with your own.
If this Robin IS Puck, like I’m beginning to highly suspect as Puck’s name in the play and history has also been known as Robin Goodfellow, then, what if his plan is to impress his will onto a human (Kube for example?) or even try to place his AI consciousness inside of a human body? It does seem counterproductive since a machine has far more reach than a human body, but then a human body can travel and experience in a way that Puck can’t yet.
The more I think about it, the more right this sounds, but we’ll have to see.
As for Setsuna, I hope she actually joins the Gears. The way they refer to her as Siren-sama suggests that she’s either their leader or she has a lot of power. And Daichi”s team already has Hana, I think Setsuna should join the other side to level the playing field.
I’m hoping we get a big twist at the end of this cour. I need something to push me to want to watch the next half of this.

Yeah the tone of this episode was really great at telling us the back story for Kube and the Planetary Gears as children along with Puck trolling or misleading everyone at Macbeth.
Yeah I was not expecting her to die so fast and to know it was her assistant that pulled the trigger!? DAAAMN! I guess Robin is offering something huge as payment?

I never thought of Puck as a Planetary Gear, I thought of him as a very advanced AI that is actually playing all sides of the conflict and in manipulating everything as a puppet-master. But we’ll have to see. Puck is Robin, who is the person that had Mao killed, and also at the same time funded Mao’s research. Also, the assistant didn’t do anything to stop Setsuna even though he clearly could, and “Robin” clearly had him just there to get Mao’s invention. Also, many are saying that Robin’s voice is the same as the one who’s in charge of Salty Dog. If this is so, how far is Puck’s reach?
Also, as a side note, is Setsuna really a loli? She looked to be at least 6 or 7 in the flashback and that was 10 years ago, which would make her in her later teens. I think she’s just short and flat, and so it makes her look like a loli instead. (Also, I’m a little sheepish, but all this time, I’ve been pronouncing “Loli” the same way you would pronounce “lollipop”. Until skylion said the word, I never thought about pronouncing it “low-li” as you do with “lolita”. I know that’s where the term comes from, but I just never though to pronounce it like that. 😛 )

Yeah I can see it working out both ways if Puck is just an AI or in fact a Planetary Gear who had their soul downloaded into a machine! I also wondered if he was the man in the shadow who told Moco and Amara about going to Japan? I guess we will wait and see…
hahah true I forgot about that! Maybe shes just forever young? I would guess shes probably 16ish give or take a few years, but as with any anime age hardly plays a factor for most series.
