Last time Akito was sick, but hopefully he gets well soon! Just kidding thanks to the power of anime magic when our favorite characters catch a cold they are cured really fast. So which girl took better care of him anyway? I thought it was funny that he picked Arashi? Who knew she had the ability to take care of someone and I was still waiting for the reveal that she got him sick. Oh and then Arashi’s acting? OH MY GOD that one line about her eye patch and the random Chuunibyou powers? That was so hilarious! Also it seemed like this was a Ginbei themed episode because we saw how she originally met Akito back in the day. I still wonder what caused her to be so freaking mean back in school?! While she isn’t my favorite character I found some funny moments through the episode like the very odd fight at her house? What the hell was that and I wonder was she trying to hide as a boy at school or was that just her style? After all of that I died laughing when they were about to shower together, I swear the look on his face was priceless after he pulled her shorts! I just could not stop laughing! So good thing for him she didn’t kick his ass right on the spot.

Looks like it’s time to break down Rita and reconstruct her, and who could do it more swiftly and cold-heartedly than Akasaka? With Rita coming off incredibly bad in pointing her frustrations at Mashiro about giving up painting and trying to get her to draw “crappy” manga, it can only take the most pointed of oral beatdowns to really get through to someone’s head. While I understand Sorata being angry at her for being the way she is, the only thing that could’ve gotten to Rita at the time was Akasaka just laying it heavy on her.
I feel like if I met fellow Metanorn blogger Hawthorne, this is the sight I’d see.
Aoyama weeping was just great in this scene. Props to Sorata for no tears.
It’s inevitable, Akasaka. You will fall for girls, and fanboy doujin fantasies will become reality!

Rito sees something nice before he gets killed.
Another week of MetaFap fun with Rito’s growing harem! So what is going to happen this week? Last week seemed to focus mostly on Mikan’s inner battle about not being needed by her brother anymore, but I don’t think she could ever leave her brothers side because she has to keep an eye on Momo practically every day; however this episode was about the deadly weapon sisters Yami and Mea! Those two characters are quiet interesting because of their personalities. Take Mea for example she is loud, bubbly and curious about everything around her while Yami is quiet, calm and usually thinking about her best friend Mikan. So the random “plot” of this episode was about her getting stick to Rito for the entire day! If you saw the episode you were probably face-palming at the idea of him showering with her with Nana…yeah I know that was only there to put him between two naked girls for the sake of the “plot” even though we had to deal with that we still got to witness a nice scene between him and Yami. The best moments followed Shizu using her ghost powers to take a peek into the mind of Mea! Which revealed the “darkness” hence the name of the series…hopefully we get to meet her master soon because we only have three more episodes left!

Sakurasou: Another great episode, more great drama, and more development of many characters. I guess that was why they brought Akasaka out of his room, but it still felt contrived (like they brought him out solely so that he could have a confrontation with Rita). I mean, all of a sudden he’s gone from hikikomori to guy-who-goes-shopping-with-everyone-else? Of course, he’s exactly right as far as what he says, and has his own inimitable style in saying it. It just felt a little bit contrived (what, in an anime? Noooo!).
I’ve mentioned elsewhere that I’m not sure I believe Rita 100%. I find it a bit hard to believe that her own grandfather would bluntly tell her “You should give up painting because you’re not as good as Mashiro.” That’s not something your teacher of 10 years would say, and it’s not something a grandfather would say. Anime likes to make people, especially older people, look bad. But thinking about Rita being a 16-17 year old girl, and how prone girls that age can be to intentionally interpreting things in the worst possible light, I can imagine that her grandfather could have said “you’re not as good as Mashiro” and a 16-year-old Rita interpreting that as “you suck, you should quit, you’ll never be as good as the best.” Rita is a very good artist, and hopefully this frees her a little bit from Mashiro’s shadow.
Of course, the other real development is Sorata’s, both in actuality and in foreshadowing. We see his former nemesis – the presentation – vanquished and his future path becomes clearer. Will he face a crisis of confidence again like Jin and Rita have said? Or has he already gotten through that, and found his path that he wants to excel in? One that’s not in direct competition with Mashiro or Misaki? He’ll probably end up with the same problem Jin has: His support of Mashiro’s work isn’t up to the quality of the work itself. Yet, without that support it would be much worse. But what a fun show all around.

I agree that it’s unrealistic that Rita’s grandfather would have told her she sucks and should give up art. It’s much more likely that he’d have been holding Mashiro out as an example and encouraging her to try harder. Of course, after 10 years of trying it’d be undertandable that Rita would give up in frustration and misinterupt everything he said to her. Working together with Mashiro on the manga should make her realize that she does have talent and should resume making art, but finding her own path in the artworld rather than trying to follow and compete with Mashiro.

OniAi: Arashi’s just trolling everyone now. Either that or her ‘predator’ image is just an act and she actually wants to be rabu-rabu with Akito, just like everyone else.
And Ginbei is just not compelling to me. Just kind of a blank person, not even her ‘origin story’ seems to make much of a difference.

Arashi certainly made an impression with her act but I missed her usual self. I’ve become so accustomed to that part of her and I’m sure the “predator” part is very real. Her way of doing things just as the other girls have their thing. I’d laugh hard if she actually ended up with Akito.
I think it would have made a big difference if Ginbei still had a bit of her old self to make her character interesting instead of being plain as a carboard.

To Love-Ru: Shizu trying to delve into Mea’s mind brought a more dramatic and dark moment to this episode, something subtitled Darkness needs to have. I was struck by a thought. Given the growing size of Rito’s future harem, if he marries them all in a single ceremony, will he survive the wedding night?

Just watched Zettai Junpaku. In all the angst over their nipples everyone forgot about the ski jump shaped, gravity defying boobs with points that could put your eye out. With the main villian taking the form of an octopus, any bets on there being some ecchi tentacle action?
Looks to me like this was meant to drum up interest for an upcoming ecchi or even hentai series.

OniiAi – 10: With such a cold demeanor in the past, it’s hard to believe this is the same Ginbei we’ve known from the start of the series. You’d think it was someone with a different personality.
Well, this is a new side to Arashi I didn’t think would exist. The minute she said the eye she keeps covered held a secret power, I immediately thought of Chuunibyou’s Rikka. Hell, she even mentioned “8th Grade Syndrome”. That was a shocker. Belief generally went out the door when Akito picked her, the most assertive and perverted of the girls as the winner of the contest. I still shiver when she licks her lips because it usually means that it’s followed by something underhanded and in her case, maybe S&M.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo – 10: I knew Rita was harboring jealousy about Mashiro. But just like Mashiro, her views were narrow minded focusing on only one thing. It’s nice to see that they’ve made up.
I don’t know if Ryuunosuke is being tsundere or simply a bastard but he needs a crack to the jaw so he can re-evaluate the way he does things. There are things you just don’t do even if you have a point.
Sorata is developing nicely with his growing self confidence since his previous presentation and faith in the team for accomplishing their goal. However, I wish he was more severe on Ryuunosuke for chewing Rita out like that.

To Love-Ru Darkness – 09: So this time is a Yami filled episode. Which falls in nicely because I wanted to know a little more about her enigmatic personality. While Yami and Mea may be from the same place, they’re complete opposites of each other with Mea being more the social type and Yami being a shut in and who rarely speaks. I really want to see who this master of theirs is who is continually being kept in the dark.
On a side note: the censors are annoying as ever. It’s such a shame compared to the uncensored quality we got from the OVA.

Yami and Mea are an odd pair of siblings, but I kind of enjoy how they are the opposites of each other! I know from the previous To-Love-Ru series Yami ALWAYS gets put into these perv set ups that ultimately make her angry, but the next time we see her she is perfectly fine? That is kind of crazy!

Angelic White Magical Girls: Only a length close to six minutes? Funny, I expected this to match the same running time as any episode of an anime. Whatever. After seeing this, the anime is definitely MetaFap material. I’m not concentrating on just the bust area of the girls but I feel the very character designs are awkward. Like their faces are being squeezed in and suffocating.
Overall, this is a show I wouldn’t mind watching to kill some time. It’s already obvious they have the ecchi part down packed but with some action as well. Also, I sense some Ikkitousen and Freezing vibes.
