Saimoe Japan 2012 – Round 2, Groups A + B Results

Plus an update for MetaMoe, as usual!~

Photobucket PhotobucketNo surprises here! Saki absolutely destroyed Illya and Nako, despite putting up a good fight. Kobato on the other hand had a much closer battle against Working’s Mahiru. Remon unfortunately sizzled, though I’m really glad to see that she made it this far. (GOODBYE SWEET TROLL!) Saki vs. Kobato should be an interesting showdown, and the winner will come down to who has the biggest support, either the Saki fans or the anti-saki fans!

PhotobucketSaki’s friend Yuuki similarly destroyed her opponents, who were two of the weaker competitors anyway. The Koromo vs. Miki match was an incredibly close one. Koromo pulled away towards the end of the match netting her the win. This is a big loss for the iMAS supporters … okay not really, there are still a ton of iMAS girls to pick up the pieces left by Mikimiki. When it comes to the eventual Yuuki vs. Koromo match I’d give it to Koromo, but Yuuki’s taco powers might prove too strong!

PhotobucketThis is when matches get so depressing! Three of my favorite characters facing off, but only one making it through. This time Kugimiya Rie proved the strongest being only but a small factor in getting Iori the win. (Yuka<3, Shinobu<3) On the other sides of things Toki has not even the slightest opposition against two lower tier characters. Toki was just too much to handle. Iori vs. Toki should be quite the showdown as iMAS and Saki will be facing off once again. I’ll be silently rooting for both. ;__;
PhotobucketAKARINNNNN~ Akari shows herself as a threat once again, this time taking out former champion Azusa with ease. Mei also had the upper hand against her opponents, though Yozora did have a good amount of support it just wasn’t enough. Mei vs. Akari is one of the matches I’m most impatient for! It’ll be one girl who is naturally invisible taking on another girl who was forced to be invisible. DUEL OF INVISIBILITY.

  1. Karakuri says:

Ahaha a battle of invisibility! I never even thought of that before.

    • Hawthorne says:

It’s hard to think of something that can’t be seen. Perhaps the match is just a figment of our imaginations. /whuuut

  2. Samantha Zan says:

    AGHHH SUCH INTENSE BATTLES!!!

Whoa 3 Saki girls in one bracket 0-0..

Akari really did take out Azusa like she was nothing, though I’ll be rooting for Mei even though I don’t think she’ll win >.>. Though for that bracket entirely, I’ll be rooting for Iori 😀

Though the competition is getting really fierce!!! I really can’t wait to see the next results! DX

    • Hawthorne says:

It’s only going to get more intense, we must prepare ourselves for the worst! XD

It’s hard to root for just one girl in that bracket, they’re all so lovable. ;__; Iori’s chances seem really good, with both anti-Saki and iMAS support behind her.

  3. akagami says:

    Noooo, Miki ;o;

Hmmm, Saki is having such a good showing. It almost makes me want to check out the show. But I don’t really like mahjong, so I doubt the power of moe can win.

    • Hawthorne says:

It’s really a great show if you have the time to watch both seasons, but if mahjong isn’t something you’re entirely into then I guess it wouldn’t be that enjoyable. Admittedly, there is more to it then JUST mahjong. ;D

      • akagami says:

I’m sure there is more to Saki than mahjong, but I really find mahjong to be boring (I don’t really enjoy gambling games).

        And I still have a huge backlog ( ̄。 ̄) ~♪
        Like four seasons of Natsume.

  4. BlackBriar says:

Aargh!! What.. the.. hell.. is.. this?! Shinobu got eliminated?! (hisses) That’s just not right. She’s too cute and haughty. She was the one I had my highest hopes on to survive. I thought she’d go the distance. Man, this competition is brutal.

    • Hawthorne says:

I’m still sad over Shinobu. I will miss her, and her donuts. ;__; On the bright side, you still have a zombie and a vampire!

      • BlackBriar says:

Yes, we’ll all mourn the loss of the loli Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade and her love for donuts. Rea and Yuki are going to have big shoes to fill in now that Shinobu and the other heavy hitters are gone. It’s still too painful to accept right now.

What also shocks me is that Kobato Hasegawa is still in the clear. How can that be?!

        • Hawthorne says:

Kobato has the Hanazawa virus on her side, inflicting us all with a serious case of moe-session. kukuku

          • BlackBriar says:

Having the Hanazawa virus on her side is an unfair advantage. Foul!! I say, foul!! Just kidding. Kobato is alright in my book. Ku Ku Ku.

  5. Highway says:

So Natsuiro Kiseki entirely eliminated now? At least someone I picked got out of the first round. 🙂

  6. Jrow says:

I’m not too confident in my remaining picks winning another round. Either of those 2 (Sherlock, Senjou) winning would be a pleasant surprise.

    • Hawthorne says:

If Sherlock can take out Asuha, maybe her Astarotte’s Toy domination will continue. (… maybe. XD)

Senjougahara is actually in a pretty good position, imo Aria shouldn’t be too hard to defeat considering the popularity of Bake/Nise. Her real trouble will come in R3 (if she wins) having to face one of those popular Sakis.

  7. D-LaN says:

HO BOY The competition quite brutal lately….
    Not you too Yuka!!
Hope S;G tsuntsun can at least make it for another round…

    @Highway, Karakuri Um… Hi?

  8. Overcooled says:

No picks eliminated yet? Could Fosh be…the all-knowing God of moe?!?!

    • D-LaN says:

      Just what IS Fosh lol??

    • BlackBriar says:

No way!! Impossible!! How did he get past all the land mines in this contest?! There must be a cheat sheet somewhere. I’m impressed and envious at the same time.

    • Foshizzel says:

wuhahahha who knows…who knows…maybe I have moe super powers <3

      • Highway says:

Well, yeah, look at his avatar compared to the rest of us. There’s no way Houtarou Oreki is going to win a moe contest. And hell, BB’s doesn’t even have any color!

        😉

        • BlackBriar says:

Unfortunately, our avatars weren’t chosen or designed for moe. Especially at these dangerous levels of it. They were never meant for it. We have a strong chance of success when we’re put into our natural environment. We now realize we’re at a huge disadvantage here. So, for now, retreat!!!

          • Karakuri says:

…Holy crap. I never use avatars for their moe levels either. I was destined to lose.

            • D-LaN says:

And I don’t think a introverted glasses dude is going to win any moe contest lol.

      • BlackBriar says:

Or maybe you’ve hiding from us the fact that you’re a skilled expert in the field of moe. And Highway is right about your avatar being a clue. It was right in front of us and we never noticed. I guess one’s avatar defines their field of expertise.

  9. Kai says:

Wow, I’m on my way to losing as well D:

  10. Kyokai says:

So, Fosh is going to be the King of this contest? Any surprises on his moe levels?!

    Um… NO! xD
