MetaVerse Episode 14.99

Glomping time and being totally random. Only at $14.99!

Gomennasai! After way too long of an absence, Kyokai, Fosh and I are back with a “Wing’n It” episode of the podcast. Since this is our third time trying episode 14 (thus the .99), we decided to just hang out on the microphones and talk whatever. We talk some Nisemonogatari and High School Boys, Bleach & Naruto among a number of different things.
WE ARE SO SOWIIIEE! No, seriously. It’s been ages since we updated but things happened with mevio and then we got busy with loads of other things. You know, running such an active anime blog is no joke. But, we made time for our listeners, who kept on commenting on twitter and posts. Expect the usual fortnightly episode releases from now on. Oh also, the file’s really not 0Kb, but 72MB+.
Sup you crazy people! Yes we are sorry for the delay in these epic podcast stuff, but here we are back for more fun with Jrow and Kyokai. Like Jrow said we decided to hang out and chat about all the cool things we have been doing besides our daily blogging duties! Like video games and chats about manga like Bleach coming to an official end? Anyway sorry for the delay and expect more stuff in the future.

Opening: “Try Unite” by Megumi Nakajima (Rinne no Lagrange)

Notes – Pffttt, what notes?! The only thing that you get is Train Hero.

Ending:  “Platinum Disco” by Tsukihi Araragi (Nisemonogatari)

So, MetaVerse is back and in full swing! At least, we would like to hope so and MetaQ is still alive. We have some things planned for next week so look forward to it! I hope we are not all alone in thinking, we were not missed… >.> Till next time, ja ne~

See ya next week~ No, you won’t get a pantsu shot!

Listening to this podcast while sleeping at 2am (GMT+8) and I haven’t got a wink of sleep thanks to all the laughs and interesting spoils. And here I am, commenting at 2.30am…

Ok first of all, OMG you guys are finally back!!! I missed your voices (not Fosh though since I still listen to his voice often). Gosh I laughed a bit at Jrow’s intro. What’s with the thing about this episode being $14.99? You’re making it as if there’s a DLC for this episode. LOL. Ahh… all the laughing I did on my bed while listening with my Walkman.

You people can just stop apologizing although we podcast listeners been waiting for many weeks/months. Kyokai had been cutting off a lot by the way.

    • Jrow says:

haha, MetaVerse DLC to be announced in the future. I promise the DLC isn’t already included on-episode. XD

I’m not sure how great Kyo’s connection is. She’s on a bit of a delay, so I think there’s times when me & Fosh start to talk or when her connection dips some. I think we might have to try have her host the recording next time to test it out.

    • Foshizzel says:

That is the best time to listen to us ramble about da anime! Sorry you didn’t get any sleep! Thanks Toori-chan xD

Hooray! Thanks to Jrow and Kyokai pushing us to get back to podcasts. Best price for any podcast right? So nice.

      Thanks ;D

      • BlackBriar says:

I think anybody would be willing to sacrife a few hours of sleep to listen to the conversations in your podcasts, even if it means risking insomnia. I’d pay that price gladly because you guys are good at what you do. I listened to it at midnight and commented right after when I should’ve been in a deep sleep. LOL.

It was good to hear you guys being back.

        • Kyokai says:

Aww man, you guys are awesome! We seriously couldn’t have asked for better listeners. :3

Also, my connection has taken a nosedive recently due to the relocation and all the background noise was actually originating from my side (I always end up living in buzzing metro areas >.>). However, will try our best in making it better next time.

Pah, you want scary? Check out Cassandra’s Awakened form from the Claymore manga (NSFW):
Yeah. What the hell even is that? (Extra note: There are heads on the ends of those tentacles. Heads that like to take bites out of you.

    • Foshizzel says:

Ahahahha yeah that picture! Not really scary more like what the hell is going on? And holy giant boobs batman.

    • Kyokai says:

Hue hue hue~ Good stuff (anime, not that much)! This reminds me of Hawt’s horror post, which I really liked.

  3. BlackBriar says:

You know you guys are just plain awesome if you don’t have anything prepared but you’re improvising as you go along.

    @Kyokai.
In the time I’ve spent since I started commenting, I’ve heard rumors of your infamous Death Perception. LOL. Everyone seems to whimper in fear of it. Now I’m curious and I gotta know: Is it really that devastating? If it is, then I definitely will know my place.

Seems I’m not the only one who felt ripped off when there wasn’t any toothbrush based sexual tension in the recent Nisemonogatari episode. But we got a little Kanbaru perversion to make up for it. Koyomi was groping Mayoi. He calls Kanbaru a pervert but I guess he doesn’t look in mirror very often and thank goodness the loli vamp Shinobu ruined his plans.

I’m itching for Spring season to come along and already have some shows in mind. Like the second half of Fate/Zero and the second season of Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?. I had to laugh when I saw the title. It’s “Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? Of The Dead”. Anyone thinking a parody of HoTD? But anyway, more of Yuu, Sera and Haruna (Mostly Sera (and her seiyuu) for obvious reasons and her calling Ayumu variations of “piece of shit”). And Studio Deen is still helming it. I’ve heard of two other animes as well: “Tasogare Otome x Amnesia” and “Accel World”. The new season looks promising.

I think the real question is “Who isn’t watching “Another”?”. I haven’t seen such a thought provoking series since the anime of 2010, Shiki. OMG….. Japanese horror animes are so better than any of the dumb live action horror movies today. And the recent episode. The title was “Body Paint”. I guess it refers to blood, maybe? I have never jumped out of my seat this many times before!! This episode was so……. Can’t really describe it. To think that you’re not safe even if you leave the town. The calamity is persistent, it seems like attempts to stop it only makes it worse. Or there has been a ton of coincidences. LOL. I like how after every gory episode, the soft ending music comes on. Pff, like that’s supposed to help me forget about what I saw a few seconds ago. And I understand the OVA is due sometime in May.

Mirai Nikki in live action sounds like a nice idea but if they do live action movie version of any anime, it should be in the hands of somebody very capable and who won’t drag it down. I’ve already endured the knowledge of movies that are utter failures based on badass shows like “Avatar: The Last Airbender”, which isn’t really anime but it’s pretty darn close and even more disappointing, that pathetic Dragon Ball knockoff which I didn’t even waste my time going to see because the trailer alone killed it for me.

Oh, Kyo. High five on Hellsing!! I missed a few OVAs but I saw the 8th and 9th ones. Boy, was I grinning ear to ear. Seeing Seras all vamped out and with piercing red eyes has definitely made this creature of the night hotter. The battles were beyond awesome but my prefered one is the battle between Alucard and the younger version of Walter. Who would have thought he’d give Alucard more trouble than even Father Anderson? He even overcame his black dog, Baskerville. It goes to show that you don’t really know who’s friends or enemies. But what form did Alucard take at the end? He kinda looks better. I’d understand if turned into a little kid to match Walter but please don’t tell me it’s something else. The english dubs are pretty good as well. It’s the first time I like an anime with both languages. Crispin Freeman does Alucard’s voice perfectly and he’s also the english dub for Itachi Uchiha, Holland Novak, Durarara!!’s Shizuo Heiwajima and Blood+’s Haji.

Bleach is on it’s way out? I rarely get an interest in it since there’s so many episodes out. On the other hand, I’m still keeping tabs on Naruto Shippuuden even though I missed like, what, 50 episodes, maybe more. It’s gotten better since they finally finished the unbearable fillers showed the story about Naruto and Sasuke’s past and how they’re connected. Even his techniques have improved immensely, like his attack: “Sage Art: Super Giant Rasengan” The story where Naruto’s parents sacrificed themselves was utterly tragic. It’s like the more it goes on, the more story is obligating them to face each other. And the video game version coming out this month, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations, the farthest it’s gonna go in story is probably when Naruto has full control of the Nine-Tails because that was how far the trailer went. I was hoping it would go to where Sasuke gets his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan because he took Itachi’s eyes after going blind.

And you don’t need to keep apologizing, Tag Team. You were given amnesty the moment this post showed up. So all is well and forgiven. And Jrow, nice job ending the podcast with Tsukihi’s OP. I found it really appropriate.

    • Tofu says:

Hoooo~? You like Sera and her ‘seiyuu’ in Kore wa Zombie BB? x3 HI 5 ME TOO~!!! <3 <3 <3 Her seiyuu's name is Hikasa Yoko (or Youko if you wish) Also she- *EDIT: Tofu's next 5 paragraphs of Hikasa Yoko, K-On and Mio Akiyama fanboy madness has been taken off for all the readers and lurkers benefit from eye soreness.*

tch… but like I said Mi- *dies from Kyokai's eye of death perception* 😛

      • BlackBriar says:

Yeah, she’s one of my favorites and I’m currently enjoying her roles as High School DxD’s Rias Gremory and Inu x Boku SS’s yuri lolicon Nobara. She plays Lynn in Moretsu Pirates but we haven’t seen much of her lately.

Sera is awesome and I can’t wait to see her again. You couldn’t believe how happy I was when the second season was announced. I miss her saying “piece of shit” and here’s to hoping she bites someone again like she did with Haruna.

        • Tofu says:

Yeah I’m definitely enjoying her role as Nobara from Inu X Boku and I love the moments in Nichibro where I get some Hikasa air time (literature girl) because her appearance in the show is still my favourites of of the other comedic skits. I personally think episode 1 was a great hit and then everything pummeled down, there’s more “hehe..” than “AHAHAHA!” (in short: comedy lvl’s have dropped)

Sera along with the necromancer Yuu (is that her name?) are my favourites in Kore Zombie! I want to know what the new character can do (the pink hair girls powers). If it’s already stated then I most likely forgot it :\

    • Jrow says:

Pretty impressive of Kanbaru to do the naked splits like she did. Judging from early trailers, I do think those book censors might be removed come Blu-ray time.

From the Spring shows, all of those are pretty good. Accel World seems to be popular.

      M. Night Shyamalan really should either reinvent himself or just stop making movies altogether. Not all of his movies are bad, but nowadays I see his name more as a detractor from seeing the movie rather than a sell.

We’re glad to be back! I feel pretty comfortable with a looser format, so I hope we do episodes like these again in the future. And credit goes to Kyo as much as it does me for Tsukihi Phoenix, though it looks like the youtube vid was taken down.

      • BlackBriar says:

Kanbaru always delivers when it comes to perversion. She’s so into it that it just comes natural to her. That’s what I like about her most. She doesn’t beat around the bush.

Looks like Spring is gonna have watching a lot of new shows. And most look promising.

I saw one of his older movies which I found was good. But compared to his recent ones (a lot of them), it makes ask if they were ever by the same director. Just like you said about his name being a detractor, if anything of his comes along, they immediately intend drop it.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yes! I am so excited for more Kore wa zombie! OF THE DEAD Just sounds hilarious I loved that trailer with Haruna saying it over and over again…just perfect! I have no idea if it is a parody of HoTD or not it might be.

Another is crazy fun for me! The mystery is fun and the random over the top deaths are extra insane fun…seriously I end up laughing and going omg…what just happened? LOL So good.

Crispin Freeman is awesome I love all his dub work and he plays a fantastic Alucard, Holland, Itachi and Shizuo! He does it all and is one of my favorites.

Yep! Bleach anime is ending around March 27th and the manga is on the final arc before they wrap it up for good. I think Naruto is close to ending to right? I am 30 chapters behind and just watching the anime right now.

MORE IN THE FUTURE! Well podcasts anyway and yes Jrow is awesome xD

    • Kyokai says:

BB, we were literally tired of the preparation because we did it for both of the previous recordings that never made the cut. So, we just went along with the flow. And about my deadly stare (Death Perception), it’s known to raise goosebumps in people. I actually do have some of it in RL as well. Yeah, looks can kill. xD

And high five on saying Avatar: the Airbender was awesome; Shyamalan butchered it and the actors weren’t good enough at all. I wanted to cry when Zuko came on screen ><, not that I didn't like his first movie (Slumdog Millionaire). I haven't heard the English dub of Hellsing but I might check it out later; I usually avoid it like the plague and have only watched some of Kenshin and Cowboy Bebop (this one was almost perfect) in dub. Also, thank you for taking out the time to type this at such an ungodly hour! ^^ PS: As you guys liked it so much, you'll be seeing the return of this loose form of podcast occassionaly. :3

  4. Tofu says:

K-On might not be realistic but it’s still an awesome anime! ><! *tries to defend his K-On love*

    • Toori-chan says:

The story is mehh… And the songs are no match to Angel Beats. But I’m still looking forward to the movie’s DL release.

      • Tofu says:

Then again this is all personal preference and by the way, you don’t watch K-On if you want a story oriented show but I can’t wait till I get my hands on the movie once it’s subbed! >;D

    • Foshizzel says:

Don’t worry bro! All the closet K-on! Fans got your back! Where would we be without all the moe from K-On?!

  5. Kabitzin says:

Honk if you love MetaVerse! Can’t believe the cliffhanger at the end, WHO IS THE MYSTERY GUEST?!

    • Foshizzel says:

HOOONKKKK! Ohhhh our mystery guest? That was Ness! She was busy before we got to record but Kyokai gave her a shout out with her “IM A BOY!” comment xD

    • Jrow says:

haha! That means we had a fan or two in Kyokai’s area.

I like the idea of ending our episodes on a cliffhanger.

    • Kyokai says:

I swear, all the honking came from the road beside my home. xD

And Fosh, I think Kabitzin is referring to our guest for next episode. You’ll find out soon enough. :3

  6. anaaga says:

I should like, start listening now
Btw, are all of the podcasts uploaded in iTunes?

    • Foshizzel says:

WHHHAAAT!? You haven’t heard our amazing voices? JKJK <3

      I think so..

    • Jrow says:

It seems like iTunes has a thing with the feed where it only keeps the 10 most recent episodes.

Of the episodes, I definitely recommend 8 & 9. Great guests, good discussions, fun times. Ep. 12 is also good with your waifu, gotta listen to that! 7 & 11 are only good for the time since they’re seasonal chats.

    • Kyokai says:

      You should or else….

Btw, I’ve fixed our feed and you should be getting all episodes now.

  7. Balloon Thief says:

I’m glad to see the podcast is up and running again. Also I’m really looking forward to the spring anime season. Kimi to Boku FTW.

    • Foshizzel says:

We are glad to see it coming back too it has been quiet without the podcast.

I am actually excited for more Kimi to Boku! It was a surprise hit xD

    • Kyokai says:

      Thanks for the wait. :3

And yeah, preview will be up before the season starts and there’s lots of continuations we are looking forward to. xD
