Sacred Seven – 07
DJ Lau in the house! Ruri has been listening to THIS for hours.
Episode seven of Sacred seven!? Just sounds funny so S77! Anyway I was recently on a random recording with Spiral AKA AvuKamu on Twitter, he writes for CSW. Thanks for letting me hang out and talk about some awesome blogs! Here is the post in question. Well time to get right into this great episode, enjoy the review!
Plot this week follows Alma and Mokoto trying to rescue Ruri from Knight’s special hideout; however, Alma goes on his own to search for Knight with Mokoto’s help, eventually finding Knight in a cave who escorts Alma to find Ruri safe and sound. Knight reveals a dark secret about Sacred Seven’s past involving some experimentation on certain people. During a fight with the fire creature aka Cyclops, Knight grabs Lau and makes a quick escape leaving the monster to Alma and Yuuji to take care of.
Be very quiet! We are watching Mokoto in his natural habitat.
This episode begins with Alma and Mokoto watching Yuuji fly off in his private helicopter after he promises to save Ruri. Alma follows Mokoto’s who gives him a box of gems in case he bumps into Ruri on the way. Ruri however saves herself for a brief moment after tricking Lau, tackling her to the ground getting free but Lau passes out and Ruri takes care of her until Knight arrives with Alma. He really wants to tell Alma about the dark secrets behind Sacred seven, which involves lots of experiments on people with Darkstone power.

Knight- “This is the worst game of hide and seek ever.”
Alma- “Holy crap, you are one tiny woman.”
While Knight reveals everything on Sacred Seven’s background, Yuuji has plans of his own and lets loose the “Cyclops”. The code name for this new weapon is actually the same fire monster Yuuji fought in a previous episode. We also learn Lau’s brother was killed by Yuuji during some random experiments, which gives Knight a reason to fight him for revenge. Cyclops arrives and causes the roof to cave in where Alma acts fast holding up the rocks from crushing both Ruri and Lau! Way to go Alma! Use those awesome rock skills you have.
Who wants to play hide and seek now?! Against Cyclops! No thanks.
Knight- “Whoa fire attack! Perfect for BBQ parties.”
Knight- “Seriously, worst day of my life guys, I need a hug from Lau.”
Doesn’t look like anything suggestive at all….right?
You can not kill this loli! Well, you can certainly try your best.
During the fight Yuuji arrives on the scene and proceeds to kick Knight’s ass all over the cave, and man does Knight get owned not just by Yuuji but Cyclops too! We do learn something freaky when Lau rushes to Knight’s side to help him. Cyclops attempts to attack Lau but suddenly stops as she calls him brother! After hearing Lau calling him, he quickly grabs Lau and escapes. Damn! Don’t you hate those surprise relatives? Anyway Alma transforms and saves Yuuji from getting his ass beat and they do a tag team punch knocking Cyclops through the wall. After cleaning up the monster, Yuuji makes his exit leaving Alma and Ruri to question the truth behind Yuuji and Sacred Seven. The episode wraps up with Lau crying as Knight hugs her after learning the truth about her brother.

End Thoughts:
Well this was certainly a great story progression episode. We did get a great dose of awesome fighting with Cyclops, Knight and Yuuji this time. Alma didn’t really get to fight much if you call that double punch move with Yuuji fighting, so I guess it’s safe to say Yuuji has made Cyclops his own personal battling pet! Not a bad pet if you can actually control him, which proved impossible by Yuuji. Now that we officially know Cyclops identity as Lau’s brother, it will make killing him even harder on Knight and Alma. It does seem to be a bit convenient that he just so happens to be Lau’s brother, then again the plot really is not hard to follow for Sacred Seven. It’s never complicated but it does drag on for the first episodes or so.
Now we finally get to see the truth behind Sacred Seven and Yuuji! Then again I can bet money most of the fans watching, figured that out during the fourth episode. After all Knight does have several flashbacks when he is a child, but that’s more of the viewers figuring things out before the characters. Much like the last episode of Tiger and Bunny! However these shows need a vilian to start to hate on. But good job of tricking everyone Yuuji, well he is nowhere near evil yet as he is missing that one key thing: an evil laugh of course.
I did enjoy that but with Lau and Ruri getting to actually talk; it does look like they have a bit in common with each other. Aside from Knight not using Lau to help him transform like Alma and Ruri, maybe we will get to see that? Anyway I did like this change in opening for this episode, not a true new opening though as they just flipped ED and OP songs and threw in some new visuals. Still surprised this series is listed as twelve episodes! We really need more, hopefully they get picked up for a second cour or a possible second season; though, it’s too early to actually say such things.

Next week looks to be more monster fighting and of course the required childhood flashback. We might get to see the loli and shota versions of Alma and Ruri.

Hmm, they switched the OP and ED in this episode. I knew we were getting a plot twist from Knight and Kenmi was being too friendly, he’s backstabbing material at best.

Knight is awesome. Even though I know he has the same VA, I see Accelerator in his face even he isn’t making any psychotic smiles.

Knight is really awesome and yes! He is really doing a lot this season with Kamisama Dolls, Ao no Exorcist, and Sacred seven! I am sure there are more shows for this season.

If Knight and Lau’s brother were Kenmi’s dirty little secret, then they might be lab rats for whatever plan Kenmi has in mind for Ruri and Tandoji since they have Sacred Seven powers.

Yeah they are making it seem that way, Kenmi does have an eye on Alma’s power when he first saw him he got a bit excited. Well as a scientist you can bet he wants to get his hands on another like Knight, which would turn into Alma.
Ruri I think Kenmi wants to get close to for her money and probably her power to transform others.

Hopefully it’s a girl. I doubt Knight would be that friendly with a guy. Besides, we’ve seen a lot of animes with flat chested girls like Utao from Kamisama Dolls or Last Order, Mikoto Misaka, Kuroko Shirai and Index from Toaru Majutsu no Index.

Well you could use Cyclops as the fire monster because he Yuuji says to release the cyclops, and well the fire doesn’t really have eyes so it could fit either way.
