Kamisama Dolls – 03
Guess who’s back, back again~
Big thanks to Fosh for covering for me last week! Kuuko, eh? She’s pretty awesome, and she’s got a big part in end of this episode. There’s also a lot of my favorite character, too. Aki <333 Oh, he’s just so entertaining, I love him, and he’s back! Really felt the loss in the last episode, so I’m glad he’s returned to stalking Kyohei this time around.
The episode starts out with Aki (woohoo!) doing what he does best…killing people and looking crazy. He’s muttering stuff about Kyohei, so I can only imagine this whole love/hate mancrush thing he’s got going on is still prevelent.
All that matters is my spandex clad toosh~
Utao is working hard at the restaurant, but unfortunately she kind of sucks at it. GIANT BOOBS, I mean Hibino, arrives with her friend (you know, the one that barfed on Kyohei) who wants to talk to Utao. They have cake. Riveting.
DIGNITY; YOU HAVE NONE
Hibino and Utao go looking for someplace she can practice using Kukuri without being discovered. This doesn’t go so well…
Kyohei is just walking to work, minding his own business when …OHMYGOD Aki randomly appears in front of him.
Aki is hilarious.
So yeah, there’s less killing each other this time, as Aki has decided to go all hobo and even needs Kyohei to get him a bag lunch. Aki plays some mind games with him, saying he might kill Hibino so Kyohei can be his boyfriend cause he thinks she’s his girlfriend, and they have a bit of a tousle before they’re interrupted by a guy named Koushiro. Aki takes the opportunity to flee and Koushiro warns Kyohei to keep his head down if he wants to continue living an ordinary life.

Meanwhile, Aki is just chilling on a roof, flashbackin’ to the night everyone got murdered when Koushiro launches a Doll into his face. Kuuko, who is out shopping, spots them and runs into Aki, narrowly dodging a Doll herself. Aki is thrown down on a dumpster in front of her, and when Koushiro and the little chibi who was threatening Utao go to find him it appears Kuuko’s taken off with him. She’s probably taking him to her sex dungeon

Oh, the Index flashbacks when Utao was om nom nom’ing on Kyohei’s head…she is one of the characters that really shine in Kamisama Dolls. Not because of that, but because she can be so damn cute one minute then saving people from an out of control truck the next. It makes her fun to watch, because she pulls off d’aww yet badass so well. The fact that her and Hibino get on so well is very sweet, too. Though, everytime Hibino bends over I find myself worrying that it could effect the Earth’s gravitational pull…

And, Aki! Oh, Aki…I love him so much. He just does whatever the hell he wants, and it’s so entertaining. I think this episode showed that he’s not just a rambling psycopath. It’s actually kind of sad. When he was sitting with Kyohei, before things got ugly, he looked pretty pitiful. My guess is Kyohei helped Aki kill all those people, but Aki got the blame. He’s definitely more involved than “just being there”, and it would make more sense with how Aki is treating him. Like they are on equal ground.
Things are getting interesting. As you would expect with Brains Base, the plot takes unexpected turns and characters you wouldn’t have thought end up being thrown together. Kyohei’s still very much in the grey area, so it’s good to have action being stirred up by the other characters. I’m sure once things go past the point of no return he’ll take over the spotlight, and I want all the Aki and Kuuko I can get until then. Srsly, the girls in this show are awesome, it’s such a rare and nice thing not to have to bitch about weak female characters in my anime.
I do have to take some things with a grain of salt sometimes though. Aki’s behavior can be so over the top and hilarious to take his threat level seriously. And Hibino’s giant boobs that are never mentioned are so out of place it just cracks me up.

Kamiasama Dolls goes all torture-porn on us, Utao struggles with her cake addiction, and Aki and Koushiro duke it out once again! Ahh, need Episode 4 like burning!

I don’t know how I felt about Dolls after last week, but I kinda feel better about it now that Aki was involved and Koushirou has entered the fray. What is that guy’s agenda exactly?

I was getting my hopes up about this show but between the bad art and the lack of fight scenes, I’m getting worried.

I quite like the art, it reminds me of something oldschool but I can’t remember the actual anime. I think the fight scenes could be bigger but as is there not so bad, we’re still in early days yet.

This was a decent episode, finally got to see more of Aki’s past life with Kyouhei! And it looks like there is another Utao running around?! I wonder if everyone has a good version and a bad one of themselves? lmao that would be crazy.
People who drive trucks in this anime really need driving lessons! Also Sis fist D’awwwwwwww FRIENDSHIP POWAAAA! Course Hibino is all over Utao and her friend.

This episode was pretty mental, at least everyone was featured. It would be cool if they had a Kurokami type thing going where everyone had dopplegangers.

This ep was a step in the right direction, but I’m kind of worried about the pacing. I could have done with less of the waitress goofiness early on, since I really felt it dragged. The action was rather nice, and I’m surprised how much the show can get past the censors with Aki cutting a guy’s arm off. As for Koushiro and the mystery shota, I’m guessing that they’re going to be the real villains, since they can hold their own against Aki, seem to have history with him and Kyohei and are rather shady.

While it was nice to see Utao and Hibino be sistas, it really did drag a lot. They could have lost that whole cake bit and just went straight to Kukuri launching that car out of the river.
I’m glad they aren’t really censoring things, and it would be pretty cool to see Kyohei and Aki relucantly work together to fight the mystery shota.

This was a nice episode. Utao is such a klutz in the restaurant breaking all the dishes. Lol. Try not to put them in bankruptcy.
Doesn’t slaughtering all those people affect Aki at all? I recommend some hard therapy for that sick puppy. He needs all the help he can get.
