Fluff, drama, yaoi, all in one. Perfect.
I knew I should’ve made this long time ago before the anime started, but I had an Advance Math test to study for. Which, I think, I didn’t do well in. I always wonder why I haven’t dropped Advance Math yet since I’m on the verge of failing it… >.<
This OVA is related to Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi, since this tells the story between Ritsu and Takano (Masamune) when they were together in high school. They didn’t know each other, they’re total strangers. So how did they end up together? Well, Ritsu “falls in love at first sight” when he sees Masamune, and he became Ritsu the Stalker. And, sadly, half of this OVA is about Ritsu stalking Masamune. He’s such a pro, he didn’t get caught for three years!
FYI, the one who threw those sakura petals was me
Ritsu makes stalking looks cute
After three years, Ritsu accidentally touched Masamune’s hand as they tried to take the same book from a library shelf. Because of that, Ritsu’s rationality dropped, and he ended up confessing his love for Masamune. Obviously, Masamune accepted. There’s no such thing as rejection in yaoi.
YAOI RULE #1: Seme does not panic, even when a same-gender confesses to him
FIRST DATE: GO TO MASAMUNE’S HOUSE AND HAVE SEX. MASAMUNE HAS A MESSY ROOM.
Worst sex scene ever = no sex at all
SECOND DATE: TUTORED BY MASAMUNE BECAUSE RITSU’S SO STUPID. ENDED UP HAVING SEX IN THE LIBRARY
Who cares about studying? Smut is always the number one priority
Oh wait, why is it blurry now? Why did Masamune’s voice change drastically? Oh, it was just a dream. Ritsu fainted in the middle of the bad cycle and he dreamt about his high school sweetheart. The Baka, now-called-Takano Masamune, stepping on Ritsu. He could’ve stepped on Ritsu when Ritsu finished his library scene dream! Thanks to that, I can’t see the smexy library sex. UGH.
Takano makes the best insults EVER
Anyhow, since it was just a dream, everything goes back to normal. Normal as in Ritsu and Takano keep fighting like cats and dogs, with Takano confessing his love in-between those fights. I find that to be cute though. <3
D’aaaaawwwwwwww they get along ssoooo well
However, the OVA doesn’t end that way. It’s a fact that most yaoi has dramatic endings. We were brought back into the past, the same high school days that Ritsu dreamt about. It turned out that Masamune knew Ritsu already even before Ritsu confessed. I squealed hard when I watched this part.
So the one being stalked is also a “stalker”…?
A GUIDE TO YOUR PERFECT YAOI LIFE:
Yaoi Rule #2: Semes can always unbutton the ukes’ clothes with one hand only. They have magical hands.
Yaoi Rule #3: Uke always, ALWAYS cries during sex.
Yaoi rule #4: A seme should always initiate the first move when it comes to sex.
Yaoi Rule #4: An uke has to be very expressive. Try to imitate Ritsu’s facial expressions.
Yaoi rule #6: Semes are always kind. They always take stray animals home.
What can I say? As a person with little common sense, I find Ritsu to be creepy. I find this whole OVA to be creepy, actually. Ritsu falls in love with another guy for the most retarded reason EVER. Thank god I’m not Ritsu, or else I would’ve fallen for more than ten girls. Also, Masamune lacks facial expression; three fourth of this OVA, and he still has the same expression. But I guess that’s okay, since he’s just a lonely teenager ;A; Besides, he’s smexy too.
But my inner fujoshi loves this OVA. It’s just so… fluffy and sweet! I don’t like fluffy stuff, especially if it’s shoujo; but since it’s yaoi, fluff is allowed. I was squealing and screaming and d’aaawwww-ing the whole time I watched this OVA. Gosh, it’s just so damn sweet no words can describe the sweetness. Ritsu is creepy, but he’s also a cutie. I don’t like stalkers, and Ritsu is the perfect example of a stalker. I cringe every time Ritsu stalks Masamune, but seeing him blushing when he sees Masamune melts my heart. Masamune needs to be more expressive, but that’s what makes me love him too. Every time Masamune has that stoic expression when he’s supposed to be smiling, I can’t help but wanting to pat him or hug him.
Overall, I like this OVA. I like this more that SIH’s first episode actually. Probably because the younger Ritsu isn’t cranky and emo like the older version. The first episode is more depressing than the OVA, since the cranky Ritsu already sees the negative aspects of everything at that time. In the OVA, Ritsu is just a cute innocent high schooler that just experiences first love, so everything here is sweet, light-hearted, and happy. I’m not a fan of emotional anime, but since this is yaoi, no-common sense is allowed. And if I have to choose between a depressing yaoi or a fluffy yaoi, obviously I’ll take the fluffy yaoi.
