Ore no Imouto ga Konnai ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai – 12 [END]

I’m leaving on a jet plane. Don’t know when I’ll be back again~

This is it! It’s the end! Though, only one of the ends. I’m pretty sure there are alternate ends coming along in the DVD releases, so don’t worry! But jeez, isn’t this sad? My first full series coming to an end? How do you guys feel? I’m tearing up a little bit. Oh, what? You mean once Oreimo is done, you wont go away? You’ll continue to read my reviews? Oh gawd, you guys are awesome! The best! Phew, I don’t have to worry anymore, I can just write a great send off for one of my favorite shows this season!

And it starts mysteriously~ In the house of the Kosuda’s, Kirino seems to be acting, strange. Not exorcist strange but normal strange. She’s being extremely nice and Kyousuke can’t exactly figure out why. He asks Ayase after running into her but says she’s just acting normal. Maybe Kyousuke is just finally seeing how his sister is when she wasn’t around him? He shrugs it off and guess tries to live with it. That is, until Kirino calls him into her room. Speaking of her room, it looks extremely bare. Nothing on the walls or anything. Besides Kyousuke noticing this, Kirino asks him to do something. And that is to buy her some eroge at a midnight launch in Akihabara. Being the caring brother he is, he agrees and sets off.

As he finally arrives at the shop, he runs into his friend from school who was meant to be covering for him as he bought the eroge. They freak out at each other and hilarity ensues. It turns out that his little sister also wants him to buy an eroge for him. But it’s a yaoi eroge and Kyousuke insists on making a fuss. While Kyousuke is out fighting with otaku, Kirino is patiently waiting at home when she gets a call from Kuroneko asking about cat ear she was making Kirino. They talk for a short while until the subject of Kyousuke comes up and Kirino tells her to stop calling him ‘Nii-san’. She agrees reluctantly, then says “I’ll be calling him something different soon enough”.

As it nears 1pm, Kyousuke finally arrives home asking Kirino to sneak him inside as his parents think he’s out. He finally delivers the eroge and in an awkward moment they stand there and Kyousuke heads off to his room, about to sleep when Kirino asks if he wants to play it with her. He ultimately agrees and they sit there for a few hours, awkwardly watching ecchi scenes together and whatnot. When Kirino finishes a path Kyosuke attempts to up and leave when she pulls another life-counseling card on him. She delves into the otaku closet and retrieves a photo album from the bottom. She gets incredibly embarrassed and changes her mind. Kyousuke gets fed up and grabs the album from her causing two things to slip from between its pages; a photo of Kirino when she was younger and a plane ticket to America. Leaving tomorrow.

Turns out she was invited to train track and field in America until she starts high school. She has had everything planned out for quite sometime and she had told everyone. Except Kyousuke, Obviously angered by this Kyousuke simply tells her it’s a good opportunity and that she should go. That’s not the right answer, Kyoubro! Appalled at the thought that her own brother doesn’t want her she rages and raged. They continue their shouting match until Kirino can’t take it any more and literally starts beating her brother up. Finally growing some balls Kyousuke grabs her and stops her yelling ‘What do you want me to say?!’

And that’s when we get an amazingly cliché scene. During their fight the knocked the laptop off her table and a scene from the game starts playing with dialouge such as “Tell me not to go, Onii-chan” and “If I go, I can’t be with you” and stuff like that. They both hear that and Kyousuke (FINALLY) realized what she’s been trying to say, but despite it, he just tells her to go. Obviously outraged by this, she jumps up and knocks him out with a headbutt. He comes to in the morning, bloody tissues everywhere and lying in bed (no you sickos, his pants were ON). He comes downstairs to find Kirino sadly not there…. because she’s standing right behind himlololol. She walks in and announces that she wont be going to America to her parents and eventually apologies to all her teachers. Seems she’s not quite the bitch anymore, eh?

End Thoughts

WHAT DO YOU MEAN ‘I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER’?!

I’ll leave you guys to this picture. Weirdos.

Why is she so happy to be between his legs…

More fanservice for you guys. Just because it’s the last you’ll get for a while.

D’awwwwww, look at her!

And the last batch of Kuroneko fanservice. I’m sure there will be more.

It’s over! Done! Gone! But not for long, dare I say? There were TOO MANY little plot turns in that episode to ignore a potential second season. But do you know what my favorite part of that whole episode was? The fact that there was NO INCEST. THANK THE LORD. When she pulled out the photo album and spat my drink out onto my poor cat who was next to me and yelled at the screen. If they were gonna pull some “Look through all these photos! I’m not in any of them! Because I was adopted! I’m not actually related to you! *humpahumpahumpa*” kinda stuff I would be so goddamn angry right about now.

Though, there was another massive surprise in that episode. I have been wishing it since a few episode back, but it seems like it’s actually gonna happen. All signs point to Kuroneko making a move on Kyousuke. Which I think is awesome. Kuroneko is probably my second favorite character after Kyousuke and their monotonous and cynical views on life are so goddamn hilarious. And if Kyousuke is gettin’ his ins with Kuroneko that means more screen time for Saori and her. Those two are just great additions and I’m glad they introduced them early on in the series. We can live without Ayase in all truth. Some of you might be into yandere, but we really don’t need one in Oreimo. Manami can stay as well, she just so dumb (AND SHE’S VOICED BY SATOMI SATOU. SINCE WHEEEEEEEN?).

Despite all these rages and opinion from me, they don’t really count, do they? I mean, Oreimo is over. I’m hoping like hell that there will be a second season because there is just so much content to explore. If they keep up this no incest thing, I’m gone be even more pleased. Though, there is the problem that everything that will happen, has already happened. In the sense that there are the light novels. There is always the chance that someone will just come in and spoil everything. I will remind you, if any of you tries to spoil this for me, I will run to whatever country you live in and I’ll hurt you so bad. But don’t worry. There’s no way that could actually happen. Right?

LET’S GO KURONEKO, LET’S GO

I love yaoi, but my eyeball twitched at that picture o.e

I was REALLY hoping Kirino would go. Then there would be nothing in Kuroneko’s way except maybe Manami >w>

  2. Robert says:

Agree! Kuroneko is realy good character, although kirino’s character improved over the last two episodes too. I would be glad if Kuroneko made a pass at him…

  3. Kyokai says:

Congrats in completing your first series, Hato! Always an awesome feeling!

I’m glad as well that there is not incest. How Kyousuke is portrayed, it would be a total bummer if he turns into one of those harem leads who don’t even leave their own sister. >.>

Season two? I can already see it. ^^

  4. Dan-go says:

THAT WAS SOO SWEEEETTTT, awww that song at the end, lol at kuroneko, and just from the cameo i realised how much i loved all the characters in this anime, from kuroneko to neighbour girl’s grandparents

  5. Amutofan123 says:

Awwwm that was a sweet ending. I like Kirino much better now. And Kuroneko!! <3 I like her with Kyousuke as well. I certainly wouldn't mind a season two…

  6. Overcooled says:

Wooooo you did it Hato~ Gratz!

Thank God there’s no incest. -.- Kirino is far too annoying to be with…well, anyone.

  7. LuluChan92 says:

Too bad, I really wanted to see Kirino’s pure RAGE after Kuroneko threw the “I’ll be calling him something else soon” line!!! XDDDD

When I saw Kiririn-shi acting so normally towrds Kyousuke I was as terrified as Kyosuke himself was, I swear!!! XD

And it seems that we all agree to one thing: THANK GOD THERE’S NO INCEST!!! XP

  8. Tofu says:

ARH!!! LAST EPISODE!!! T___T I’m gonna miss Oreimo so much~ After a shocking dere side from Kirino I’ve begun to like her even more and also seeing Kuroneko all posing at the mirror was so KYAA~! x3 She’s so adorable~ And OMG Satomi voicing as Manami!?!?! HOW DID WE NOT NOTICED!!! xD 10 points for Kyousuke’s friend buying Yaoi eroge for his little sister AHAHAHAHA Just look at those muscles! I feel sorry for him… After a quick scan over the characters, all of them play a good part in the anime and I like all of them but the one I really like is Kuroneko cause she is so damn adorable, next up is Ayase (I know, yandere… but still, she was good at her first impression…) and then the 3rd one would be Kirino (I dono’t mind her tsundere side, I’m used to it after watchign so many with tsundere characters, to me she’s cute and actually cares inside and also as I have mentioned I’m a bit of a siscon) yeah…

Oh is this your first completed post Hato? CONGRATS MAN!

  9. foshizzel says:

  10. BlackLagoon187 says:

  11. wildfire says:

really good anime. nothing too peverted and definitely no incest. hoping season 2 comes real soon!

  12. Psycho says:

If you want to study(academic) in America, I could accept it. But for track team practicing in America, I don’t get it.

  13. Teabie says:

yeah, i read the spoiler from the light novels, so… omigosh. gave me a totally different lens now. but anyways, i love the series and i’m also glad it ended on a nice note. kirino is nicer and getting a bit more honest with her feelings in a non-violent way (girl, please stop your eroge hobby bcos it’s making u act like that towards your oniichan, haha!). and kyousuke remains my fav character all through – well, i have a serious fetish towards guys in suits and ties. heh. but yes, he’s a normal guy who tries very hard to understand otakus, and that’s really sweet. fingers all up for his interaction with his friend for the midnight queues! how funny is that!? i wished they had those earlier in the series, they would be able to lament to each other secretly about how they’re bullied by their imoutos.

i don’t know about kuroneko though. i tried really hard to warm up to her, but couldn’t!! it doesn’t mean i dun like her, I DO. but if she ends up with kyousuke, that thought really jars me. i can’t even explain why, and i’m annoyed that i dun like the idea. kuroneko’s really cute, sweet and responsible too. sigh. ><

  14. […] like I said during our Spring Picks post, the comparisons to Oreimo seem natural. For me, over-comparing at this point is a knee-jerk reaction at best, and lazy at […]
