2010 Year-Ender – Fan Favourite Winners

Results are IN. Time to reveal the winners of the Fan-favourite Awards for 2010, Metanorn Readers style~

Last day of the year, woo~ I’m going overboard here to finish all I want to finish and in record time too; I gotta go out and have some fun. Our polls were quite successful this year but a prominent few emerge with few surprises. Though, hold your horses, it’s not over yet! XD

1. Anime OP of the Year

“My Soul, Your Beats!” by Lia (57% Votes)

Angel Beats! has always been amazing in the music department and somehow this win is not a big upset. Jun Maeda, you rock! Can you imagine Uragiri no Yuuyake got beaten with only one percent of vote though?! Yeah, popular voting is dangerous and sorry self and fans, who went aww seeing it not win. If only I could combine that with Complication but that would be cheating and I’m so not doing it! xD

2. Anime ED of the Year

“Trust Me” by Yuya Matsushita (66% Votes)

Sure shot winner from the get go. The beat is amazing and you can’t help but replay it on your playlist. Yuya sure came up with something different than his usual style; Trust me! The second and third place are not a surprise as well, NO, Thank You was not Don’t Say Lazy but still great, same for Brave Song.

3. Male Seiyuu of the Year

Ono Daisuke (77% Votes)

The majority has spoken and I can’t disagree. He is amazing and definitely one of the most successful seiyuu of current times. I’m also happy that my other favourites are pretty much in the top five. Amazing talent, hell yeah!

4. Female Seiyuu of the Year

Kana Hanazawa (69% Votes)

Again, without a doubt she deserves to win. I mean look at the amount of roles she has done in 2010! Does she even sleep?! Same for my other favourites in top three; I’m content.

5. Male Supporting Character of the Year

Shinra – Durarara!! (56% Votes)

Durarara!! has had the most fiercest following this year and you can see from the votes that it’s not going to diminish. Shinra has been a lovable character from the beginning and there was a time when I went WTF of what he’s been doing and stuff he hid from Celty but as they say, all is fair in love and war.

6. Female Supporting Character of the Year

Celty – Durarara!! (66% Votes)

You see what I was saying, right? Not to mention, Celty is an awesome Headless Rider and one of the most human, supernatural being in animu world. You just can’t help but love her. Also, supporting characters made for each other. xD

7. Villainous Character of the Year

Orihara Izaya – Durarara!! (83% Votes)

Oh how appropriate. As BL said, Izaya was at the top for a reason. He’s just so evil yet amazing. Yes, the only one I would write a full name of.

8. Male Character of the Year

Shizuo – Durarara!! (60% Votes)

*FANGIRL SQUEEE* Ahem. I love this character to pieces and seeing him win is a double woo for me. Fortissimo of Ikebukuro indeed! I was not expecting this because this specific list was SO HARD to decide on!!! You can see from the top five how Durarara!! has three main protagonists one after the other.

9. Female Character of the Year

Kanade – Angel Beats! (45% Votes)

Wow, another close call and this time around between Angel Beats!, Durarara!! and K-On!! (just look at those exclamation marks pile up 0.0). Anri and K-On!! girls got beaten by Kanade by one mere percent. Though interestingly, Anri and Kanade both are voiced by Kana Hanazawa. Anyway, Tenshi wins!

10. Anime of the Year

Durarara!! (71% Votes)

Chotto matte~ out of the 10 categories, Durarara!! won in six categories?! That is what you call a fan favourite and the majority has spoken! ‘nuff said.

    Without a doubt, this voting system has been taken over dramatically by Angel Beats AND Durarara, I mean… was it even a fair vote? These two anime’s were so good they got HEAPS of votes, undisputed leaders in each of there polls! xD But it’s because they are so good that they deserve to win!

    I’m satisfied with almost all categories except Anime OP (Complication, why you’re on the third place??), Male Seiyuu (I’m more into Kamiyan, but I guess he wasn’t the star for 2010) & Male Character (Nuoooo~ Kida on second place? *sob sob sob*)
    Nice to see Durarara!! win in sooooo many categories 😀

    Durarara owned this year. It’s one of those anime that would be only “very good” and not “great” if you hadn’t have over 9000 friends that watched it too and it’s mosly main topic of discussion (Snow:Oi, you! Izaya or Shizuo? Random-girl-on-convenion: Shizaya! *______* Snow: *makes her anti-fujiyoshi face*). And besides, Drrr is very addictive :D.

    This poll was too biased with stupid DRRR fans. Sure its great, BUT THERE WERE OTHER GREAT SHOWS!!!! It shouldn’t have won as much as it did.

      Angel Beats, Katanagatari, Break Blade, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood!!!!, Shiki, and House of the Five Leaves.
