Persona 3 for PSP

I’m a bit late with the news, but it’s still fresh anyway. I’m definitely anticipating the revamp of Persona 3 now ported to the PSP!

Persona 3 is being given a rebirth on the PSP. This week’s Famitsu offers up a first look at Persona 3 Portable, which will hit the Japanese version of the system in retail and download form on November 1.

The original Persona 3 was first released to the Japanese PS2 in July 2006. Atlus followed with an expansion called Persona 3 Fes in April 2007.

Persona 3 Portable is based around the main scenario of Persona 3 Fes, but Atlus is adding a whole lot to make this more than just a port. The biggest change appears to be the ability to select between male and female main characters. The newly added female main character offers different events and character relationships from the male character. Even the male character scenario will be seeing new elements, including visual changes to some Personas.

Other new elements include the ability to select between five difficulty levels: beginner, easy, normal, hard, and maniacs. Movement through the game world has been simplified, as you can now select a destination directly from a menu and be transported there instantly. During battle, you now have the option of directly issuing commands to all your ally characters.

November 1 is the Japanese launch date for PSP go, making Persona 3 Portable a launch title for the system. For RPG fans, Sony’s portable redesign seems like it has its first must-have title!

So we have an alternate female lead being the huge foundation of change in this portable game. That means, we have to date males this time when we’re using her. I can’t really see Ken getting dated though, since that would be too shotacon-much. As well as Shinji, because he.. yeah, spoilery stuff… Junpei is just… blah, same as the track and field guy, the fat guy on the moon arcana and Bebe who’s definitely a homo xD. (Edit:)And Tanaka too… Bleargh EWWWWW. That just leaves me to Akihiko only, and Mamoru (Star) ;P. Lol I can sense people having their dreams to date Akihiko-senpai getting come true xDD. I hope they would add changes to the social links overall because if they left the guys like that, then it would be lame~.

The female protagonist looks like a more mature version of Rise Kujikawa (P4) without the twintails. We can see that she’s quite opposed to the main character, who looks too emo. This girl looks quite happier this time since she’s carrying a smile. I also like the design for the female Orpheus as well.

Elizabeth gets her on male counterpart for to match the gender swapping in the female version. LOL is it just me, or do I see a lot more serious, taller and neat Kanji (P4) in him? xD. He looks hawt though~ HAWT.

Oh my god I’m so excited for this one!!! This just explains why I would never let go of my PSP. I’m still waiting for an English release of Persona 1 Portable though, now I have another thing to make me suffer on waiting ;__;. Gotta love how ATLUS makes Persona their money milking source, since it’s quite effective. DAMN YOU EVIL ATLUS! xD. I’m totally addicted to the series and would definitely wait for an English version ^^.  Keep tuned for more announcements and news for P3P ^__^.

I wish I have PSP… damn, missing this will be a disaster for a Persona fan like me.. :freeze2:

I hope they also milk the other Persona games especially the one they left out for Japan only.

XD I feel the exact same haha, although they didn’t change Ryouji or Pharos.

Not to mention this is going to make so much of the other guy social links look so pedo. Like that old man at the bar, and stuff. :X That and in Minato’s he always had implied sex at the ed of his girlfriend social links…

I wonder what the’d do for Minkao LOL

The female protagonist is pretty neat (yea, much neater than the girl on Pokemon HG/SS) I can’t wait to use her!
Plus, she doesn’t look emo so.. I’ll use her instead of the guy ones!

Hey, is her Perona a Female Orpheus?

  6. DK Eternity says:

Hmm, if I play this that means it would be my… 6th run through P3. I am interested to see what happens with the female protagonist though.

The Persona series of games aren’t really my favorite among the SMT games, but I might give this one a try.

I hope that since it’s a downloadable title I will be able to get Japanese voice acting on an English version if/when it is released in NA. I found out Mamiko Noto is the voice for Fuuka in the Japanese version which I found hilarious since the English voice acting for Fuuka is the worst one.
