aoi_hana

First look on the upcoming notable yuri series this Summer, Aoi Hana.

The website now streams three promotional videos for Aoi Hana, first is the 15-second TV commercial, next is the 115-second trailer (which you’ll be seeing below), and then there’s also a cool 38-second behind-the-scenes video.

Trailer:

Sypnosis:

Fumi Manjoume, an introverted, bookish teenage girl, is beginning her first year of high school at Matsuoka Girls’ High School. She enters the school year with her heart broken by a previous relationship. At about the same time, she reconnects with her best friend from ten years ago, Akira Okudaira, who is now attending Fujigatani Girls’ Academy as a first-year high school student. As they reconnect, they both deal with their own respective romantic problems, and help each other get through them.

Seiyuu:

Ai Takabe as Fumi Manjoume
Yuko Gibu as Akira Okudaira

Aki Toyosaki as Miwa Mogi
Chiemi Ishimatsu as Yasuko Sugimoto
Fuyuka Oura as Chizu Hanashiro
Kenji Hamada as Masanori Kakumu
Mai Nakahara as Kori Sugimoto
Mamiko Noto as Shinako Sugimoto
Ryoko Ono as Kawasaki Sempai
Sayuri Yahagi as Yoko Hon’atsugi
Shinji Kawada as Shinobu Okudaira
Shintaro Asanuma as Yasushi Kawanoi
Yui Horie as Kyouko Ikumi
Yuka Iguchi as Misako Yasuda
Yukari Fukui as Kazusa Sugimoto

Ai Takabe is a newcomer, and judging by what I had heard on the trailer, her voice is cute. Yuko Gibu isn’t that huge of a seiyuu yet, but we’ll also hear her in Umi Monogatari. And lol, Yui Horie needs no introduction for almost being at every show this summer =P.

Notable things to mention about Aoi Hana is that the Director of this is Kenichi Kasai, the one behind gems like Honey and Clover, Kimikiss ~pure rouge~ and Nodame Cantabile. Animation Production will be by J.C. Staff (Shana, ToraDora, H&C, and lots of other popular series).

The music will be handled by Takefumi Haketa, who’s behind Vampire Knight Guilty, Antique Bakery and Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto‘s music. The OP is “Aoi Hana (青い花)” by Kukikodan while the ED theme is “Senteforia (センテフォリア)” by Ceui.

If you are looking for a beautiful coming-of-age yuri story, this one is definitely reccomended. For sure its production is convincing enough to make you check this one out.

Definitely one to eye. If I can deal with Saki’s girl-love tones, I’m sure this will have a more reserved feel ^^ (less outrageous, more potential quality).

also, there was some weird spaces padding the Website and comment form inputs O.o

The show has a good art director, but, after watching some footage, it seems that the character design transfer could have been better. The outline is not too bad, but the shading is inappropriate.
