4: Toki wo Kizamu Uta by Lia – CLANNAD ~AFTER STORY~

The song was very beautiful. That’s really all I can say. I must say that this is definitely one of the stronger OPs this year in terms of animation and music. CLANNAD ~AFTER STORY~ and Lia earns my #4 spot 🙂

3: Ash Like Snow by the brilliant green – Gundam 00 OP 2

The brilliant green and Gundam 00 earns the third overall favorite OP this year. The song became an instant favorite of mine the moment I heard it and well, it’s really awesome.

2: Motto Hade Ni Ne! by Haruka Tomatsu – Kannagi

[Video is the official PV. Unfortunately, I can’t find any actual OP on youtube right now, gomen!] It’s catchy, dancy, and cute! What else can I say? Well, I can even dance it right now! “Do it More Gorgeously” (or whatever it can be translated as -_-) by Haruka Tomatsu or Nagi herself had sung the OP really well, and definitely one of the most memorable OPs of this year for the controversial Kannagi, earns my 2nd spot!

1: Lion by Megumi Nakajima and May’n – Macross Frontier 2nd OP

BEST-EST OP of the year IMHO. The animation was very sparkly, shiny, busy and the song is well done. Plus May’n and Megumi Nakajima put up a powerful showdown. It scaringly gives me the goosebumps everytime I watch it (well, that’s really me, I sense something epic when I get goosebumps XD). Really one of my all-time favorites. Macross Frontier gets my favorite OP this year!

…Well except I can’t really argue with the openings above it, but still!!! Lion is definitely the best opening of the year though (my favorite’s still Toki wo Kizamu Uta because of Nagisa~ and you know…the song’s good too and stuff).
