DRAGONBALL Movie Anyone?
Me? pfft… DO NOT WANT.
Anyway, I’ll give you a little cast trivia on this upcoming fail flick. Canadian actor Justin Chatwin (Lost television series), stars as Son Goku, complete with his orange get-up. Besides from him, Emmy Rossum will be playing Bulma and Chow Yun Fat as Master Roshi. James Marsters will play the evergreen Piccolo, which makes me wonder how will they turn Piccolo Live Action without looking too fake. Jamie Chung will play Chichi, Joon Park as Yamcha, Tamura Eriko as Mai and Randall Duk Kim as Granpa Gohan.
The movie poster states: “The Legend Comes to Life”. It hits theatres March 13, 2009.

It may not be too bad. James Marsters is playing lord Pic, and he is seldom in anything bad. All the tv shows he has done, have been a long running success. all the movies he was in have made lots of money. Even the audio books he read for were NY Times best sellers. I suspect that JM at least reads the script before he decides on playing a role. Based on this, I am cautiously optimistic.

OK, OK I get that it is hard to accept changes in what most people see are childhood icons, but without growth things wither away and die. Why not see if this can be translated into live action before condeming it. It will all depend on the execution and I agree with Lomax that with James Marsters as Lord Pic we have an excellent chance of the spirit of the character making it to the film. I too have listened to his Dresden Files audiobooks ( Storm Front, Fool Moon, Grave Peril, Summer Knight ) and was amazed at his ability to bring so many different characters to life with just his voice. Chow Yun Fat is another one of those extremely talented actors. I have never seen him in a sub-standard film so this also gives me hope.
Omisyth…you need not eat ice cream even if it turns out to be outstanding 🙂
