Aniblog Tourney Round 4 Menu

We need your support in Round 4 of Aniblog Tourney!

Hello readers/lurkers, I am back with some delicious and yummy goodness. Not the cooking kind, mind you, but the update kind.  If you have been following us for a while, you have already gone through our extensive reviews of Aniblogs from round one and two. If you are new to the game, let me enlighten you with the fact that the Aniblog Tourney happens every two years (this is the second and some are already claiming it to be it’s last stint), where different aniblogs are pitted against each other through polled votes. For the staff, aniblog is a broad term including, anime, manga, editorialists, scanlators, sub- and even music-reviewers. The popular belief is that it’s the best way to discover new blogs but the grapevine has dubbed it a popularity contest. Well, it is that too but most of all, it’s usually fun and if you take it for what it’s worth, a lot of new generation bloggers have come to the fore because of it.

If you ask me, 168 was a huge number to start with compared to Tourney I’s 96 blogs. Though, the number has drastically reduced now to 33 from the three digit 168. It took more than two months to reach this number but with reason as a delay of few weeks was introduced for a better voting system than Polldaddy, which was very blatantly rigged by some parties. However thing transpired in round 3, it’s amazing to see a mix of old and new blogs make the last 33 for round 4. Interesting to note is that 20 of these blogs (61%) are Tourney I participants, while remaining 13 are new blogs (39%), pushing steadily on.

To put you up to speed, rather than reviewing them once again, I’m dubbing them with unique titles and one-liners, which might not be very explanatory but my personal view. The matches are short so do check out the following blogs and their respective polls from 20th till 24th June. Without any further ado:

  1. Star Crossed Anime Blog – Blogging Machine since 2005. Last Tourney Winner and an overwhelming competitor.
  2. Beneath the Tangles – Religion in Anime: Yep, unique indeed.
  3. Baka Laureate – Kriz is not really a baka but a wordy blogger with fun reviews.

  25. Analog Housou – Mistakes of Youth Redux.
  26. Mainichi Anime Yume – Anime themes taken very seriously.
  27. Lower Mid-Table – #YESWECANPERORJ
  28. Canne’s anime review blog – Gogo Canne!
  29. Daifuuku Anime Blog – Sweetest dish on this round.
  30. Sea Slugs Anime Blog – Namako’s kawaii desu.
  31. Blogsuki– Old intelligent fag. I wish, he would write more.
  32. Lost in America – Another episodic blogging machine. He’s a quarter demon for sure!
  33. Conspicuous klux – Lovable Animetard.

I’m sleep deprived so I don’t know if above made much sense but this is the latest report and last stretch of the second Aniblog Tourney, which will gambol its end in a few days. So, we’d definitely like your continued support and thanks to everyone who voted on previous rounds. Till now, we have received a slew of interesting feedback, and Round 3 was definitely bomb in collaboration. We are still having fun and if you like what we do, support us in the red bracket polls to be live till 8pm GMT on 21st June! Ja ne~

The polls are already active! Vote vote boat! I mean, uh, not boat

  2. BlackBriar says:

Round 4. FIGHT!!! Don’t worry, you have my continued support. You guys definitely have my vote out loyalty to this great blog.

@Kyokai: Sleep deprived? LOL. Don’t turn into an insomniac because of this, Kyo. Who knows what will happen.

I think some of the winners will be Metanorn, Star Crossed Anime Blog, Sekijitsu, Baka-Raptor and Sea Slugs Anime Blog.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah BB I agree I can see all of those blogs making it through this round easily! Lots of fan followings and general fans of their writers and writing styles.

    • Kyokai says:

I have been helping my sister in shifting so there’s dearth of free time and I had to make this post in time for our polls. You know how it goes. >< And the rounds will get tougher as all of us gear up to win this Holy Grail. >>

      • BlackBriar says:

Ah, so much to do, so little time. Am I right? That prospect is totally a bitch when you’re burdened down with so many important things to do, especially when they’re on a deadline for something. You were helping your sister out? That’s very nice of you, Kyo.

Yep, of course things will get tougher. You know what they say: No pain, no gain. LOL. You have my blessings to win the Holy Grail.

  3. SnippetTee says:

I didn’t know that Chrome filters my blog. I guess that’s because of the recent article. It has the term “nudity”.

    • Foshizzel says:

Hmmmm good question! Probably the nudity part, but still I wonder why!? DAMN CHROME T___T

    • Yi says:

I wonder if that is the case. I haven’t had chrome filter my blog, and I’ve had hentai, oral sex, nudity, and a slew of other naughty words in my titles. Sexual title alone should not give you that (although you might get kicked off safe search).

      • Kyokai says:

It’s gone today or maybe the reason I accessed it from office network that the warning showed? I should’ve screencapped. >>

  4. Gecko says:

    Yay!! Round 4!
I shall continue my support here, however, I shall be disappearing into a no-internet land starting on Sunday, so it’s unlikely that my vote shall continue from there on. 🙁 I wish you guys the best of luck anyways! My vote shall be in Spirit Form I suppose.

    • Foshizzel says:

Thank you for all the support Gecko! Much appreciated <3

    • Kyokai says:

No-internet land! D: I hope you get back to this land soon enough. I know the pain of surviving days without net. ><

      • BlackBriar says:

Believe me, I know, the torture is unspeakable. Last year, I went five weeks without internet. It was like I lost a part of myself.

      • Kyokai says:

I KNOW DAT FEEL. This happened to me during travel and the maximum I have gone without good net was one month. On dial up type speed and could only check emails; my life was hell. >>

        • BlackBriar says:

Oooh. I understand that feeling all too well. That had to be a really unpleasant experience. I do so much on the internet that I start to freak over time if the connection was ever cut off, got slow or if I was only limited to do certain amount of things against what I can usually do. It just goes to show how addicted we’ve become the more technology advances.

        • Kyokai says:

I don’t think, we can live without technology and internet anymore. We have become dependent on them and the world we see in Accel World at least on Neuro-linker theory is not that far away. o.o

          • BlackBriar says:

It seems we have a lot of examples for technology thanks to anime: Accel World, Guilty Crown, Infinite Stratos, Mouretsu Pirates, Senki Zesshou Symphogear, Toaru Majutsu no Index and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. I’d be happy if I had any of their tech in my hands.

  5. Yerocha says:

“Lemmas and Submodalities – Not a hentai blog even if chrome gives you a warning.”

Best thing I heard all day. I’ll be sure to support you guys!

  6. kluxorious says:

    I’m loveable? That’s a first! XD

But anyhoo, you know my vote belongs to you

    • Foshizzel says:

YES! WE LOVES YOU! Gotta give a shout out to my favorite Bleach manga reviewer ahaha I like them ;D

Thank you for the awesome support Klux you rock!

    • Kyokai says:

You can call me biased. :3

  7. akagami says:

Hmm, my fish-like attention span had already forgotten about this contest. I added my vote to Meta and Sekijitsu.

I also voted for Star Crossed, then I clicked the link above and realized I got it confused with Sea Slugs (shoot me, they both begin with “S”)… WHAT I WANT MY VOTE BACK.

Bonus: Added another blog from the list above while skimming… the fanart/wallpapers each post has for EmptyBlue caught my eye. Added it and I’ll give it a thorough checking out later.

    • Kyokai says:

Thank you for your support! And EmptyBlue is a very interesting place indeed. :3

  8. Tofu says:

    METANORN FIGHT-O!!! x3

  9. Reaper says:

Metanorn used AWESOME POWER! IT’S SUPER EFFECTIVE! :3

  10. Yi says:

A quick question for the boss lady. Would you be doing a series of aniblog reviews a la early on in the tourney?

p.s. You guys have my support. I hope we face in the top 8.

    • Kyokai says:

I think we are done with the major reviews because round 1/2 blogs don’t really need any introduction. All depends on time but if I decide, will keep you updated.

  11. Inushinde says:

Tsun and deliciously moans, eh? There are far less accurate descriptions of me, I suppose.

More relevantly, best o’ luck, Metanorn!

    • Kyokai says:

Your purple blog is tsun (more due to Senjou) and by moaning, I meant criticism on certain shows. As I said, I was half asleep and wrote whatever came to me as first impression.

      Thanks for the wishes. :3

  12. Canne says:

I’ll vote for you until we finally meet in the championship round, Kyokai! XD

  13. […] I should note that Metanorn is currently participating in the Aniblog Tourney. Kyokai even made a post about it. Check it […]

  14. […] my previous updates, I wasn’t very forthcoming about the drama that Tourney causes in each turn just because, but it […]
