RE:Creators Series Review

Part of me is going to miss this series!

Well it certainly has been forever since I’ve done a post, but with fall coming soon I figured I should do a series review for RE:Creators! While it certainly wasn’t the most amazing anime ever because it has a lot of issues; however I found myself connecting to the creators themselves especially with their very real struggles on creating original content or like Marine who felt discouraged when she saw Shunma was a better artist! I’ve been there so many times.

Extra Creations

Damn what is Altair’s jacket made of!?

Same Blitz same…

Megane IS THE BEST DAMN RE:CREATORS CHARACTER!!!

Alice got taken out by some OP crap…

At least Hikayu got to be kinda helpful in the end I guess?

I really wish Selesia didn’t have to blow herself up!

Happy ending for Altair? I wonder what kind of world she created.

THIS HIT ME IN THE FEELS! Mamika and Alice got to meet again <3

Later to the coolest bros of RE:Creators~

I love the fact that Meteora became a creator at the end.

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

Megane is the best damn character. I’d love to see her in a spin-off anime. It’d be a guilty pleasure to watch someone as joyfully evil as her manipulating and often destroying people for her own amusement.

Megane was a great addition to the cast! I just wish she did more, but ill take what I can I guess? She does have a manga spinoff that zztop linked if you even read manga.

Magane got a spinoff manga here:

As for her final fate, all Hiroe says is that although she’ll lose her powers in the real world, she’ll still remain the free-spirited liar wherever she may go.

    • BlackBriar says:

There’s no surprise there. This is Magane we’re talking about. We’ve seen more than enough evidence. No way will she change. Once a snake, always a snake.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah I think if you were to poll fans on their ultimate fav character Megane would easily be number one! Due to how she acts+voice actress+character design so her getting a spinoff works.

I remember seeing these before! Good stuff, but at the same time I guess it goes to show how RE:Creators didn’t have much of an actual plot if someone can simply sum it up in single comic panel.

Finally I was able to finish the series. Such a hassle it’s been nearly a month now since that royal pain of a hurricane named Irma caused a disruption in my island home Saint Martin. Because of it, I’m looking at a serious backlog!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed Re:Creators. Despite the howling of the toxic naysayers, the show did well being unique and doing its own thing until the end. How it chose to resolve the conflict with the antagonist Altair was interesting since I didn’t have the slightest idea how it would be done. A shame Selesia and Aliceteria didn’t make it to the end.

Among other matters, what deserves attention and analysis is Sota and Magane’s interactions. As opposed to causing conflict that ends up in physical violence like for the others, Magane seemed more motivated in psychologically corrupting Sota. I’m guessing that proves a more satisfying route in her eyes since he’s so pure and that she’s never bared her fangs at him.

Another surprise is Meteora’s circumstances causing her to stay behind. Not to mention her becoming a creator herself. That came out of left field but fits well enough seeing her world’s story won’t advance with the passing of her creator. One can say she’s swapped places with Altair in being a fish out of water.

All and all, I felt my time with this series was well spent and without regret. It’s not likely we’ll get anything else this out of the box in a hurry.

Ohhhhhh I hope everything was ok! Irma knocked my power out for a good 5 days which in FL heat is THE WORST! Freaking succccccked and when power was restored I had no internet for 5 extra days so yeah a real bummer…

A lot of people just got bored with the first half due to over explaining things, stupid chatty episodes and no real plot to be found I guess? I didn’t have issues with that and once the second half kicks in imo it got way better! There was a plot and a mission to get Altair.

I think Megane just wanted to have fun in the real world because she only killed the guy at the library and her original creator and didn’t really attack any creation! I mean sure she lied to get Alice to assume Meteora killed Mamika, but that is what her character does…she did have a odd connection and obsession with Sota thou! Then again maybe watching him lie was kind of fun for her? IDK

Meteora becoming a creator never clicked to me until the end and the fact that she is the narrator in a few episodes made me remember! So I guess we are to assume RE:Creators is actually coming from her perspective the entire time? Also the fact of episode 14 she is breaking the 4th wall and changed her own character design! Oh and the big reveal that her first story being called RE:Creators.

Yeah I already miss RE:Creators! Ah well at least ill have the OST to hold me over for awhile <3

Well, I went 5 days without power, 22 without running water, I’ve yet to regain my internet service (I’m using an outside source just to comment at all) but aside from that, yeah, I’m still in one piece. Though I can’t say for those who’ve had their lives severely crippled due to the unbelievable amount of damage. A number of parents had no choice but to send their children off island and abroad just to keep up with school. A cousin of mine is already gone and my own younger sister will be joining that statistic by the end of the week, much to my displeasure. But it’s necessary for her.

The aftermath, however, was just as problematic as the hurricane itself. Such as looting and other similar grievances. After those events, my contempt for human nature increased tenfold.

    • Foshizzel says:

Cool finds but idk if RE:Creators is as deep as some of those posts are? Course I don’t dive that deep into anime in general, but eh bonus points for those that managed to find something deep about this series.

      • zztop says:

In most interviews Aoki and Hiroe stressed that Re Creator’s plot was ultimately one of metacommentary, on the nature of creating works, the creators making those works, and the philosophy of how the audience will accept those works.

      • BlackBriar says:

To my eyes, Re:Creators was profound. Then again, I dive deep into anything I find interesting. And as I’ve said numerous times, even episodes dominated by conversations would get a pass as long as it holds my attention.
