Spring Anime Catalogue 2011
FINAL ROUND UP
Kyokai: Oh God! This list took me around three days to put right. I know, we are a bit late than usual with our reviews, but you can say we have been quite busy with some backend stuff. Thanks to Overcooled, Fosh and Ness, who helped out in making this monster draft possible. If you include the skip list, around HUNDRED Series, OVAs and Movies are releasing in Spring alone! Yep, some studios are working over time to entertain us and even at such dark times that are still prevalent with many areas still water and electricity less. Take out some time to think good thoughts about Japan and if you can, do donate to the right relief bodies.
We haven’t really followed any specific chart rather combed through ANN, MAL, AdniDB and Moonphase to get a comprehensive list of anime releasing in Spring 2011. The following information and summary to be added after a breather as this post already took a lot of time to compile at my end only.

Spring Studios Roundup:
- Some new contenders are on the horizon. The leading Studios are taking a back seat this season. So, it’s not like J.C.Staff in Fall, producing 20% of the titles.
- Interestingly, Tatsunoko Production is a very old studio, who has gone quite ACTIVE lately. They will be the busiest among the new ones producing three TV series: Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream, Sket Dance and C, while two OVAs: Yozakura Quartet and Princess Resurrection.
- Surprisingly, Sunrise is the only studio that is going strong and coming up with three major titles this spring. Namely, Gintama, Tiger & Bunny and Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon.
- Production I.G has upped an ante as well with a melee of OVAs and Speicals: Wakate Animator Ikusei Project, xxxHolic Rou, GitS 3D movie, Break Blade movie 6, Sengoku Basara Two Shorts and a TV series Moshidora.
- Toei Animation is being quite active with three releases of old titles like Toriko, Ring ni Kakero and Digimon Xros Wars. They are also releasing another PreCure movie and Tezuka Osamu no Buddha.
- Madhouse is making me tired with all these Marvel rehashes. I would rather have a go at Kaiji S2 rather than burn my childhood memories of X-Men awesomeness. In the OVA department they will continue with their Black Lagoon: Roberta’s Trail and finish up HOTD with a beach episode? I wonder.
- My favourites, SHAFT is climbing high with two series offerings of Denpa Onna and Maria Holic’s season two with Katteni Kaizō OVA, while Brains Base is coming out with Dororon Enma and Hotarubi no Mori e movie (lol, wut!?).
- Manglobe is slowly becoming a very aspiring studio. They are bringing in Deadman Wonderland and KamiNomi Season 2; both I hope would be total win!
- A-1 Pictures is animating one of my recent favourite manga: Ao no Exorcist; also, Ano Hana and Fairy Tail special
- J.C. Staff is still keeping a low profile by animating Aria the Scarlett Ammo, Maid-sama and Kämpfer für die Liebe special with Nomad, which is releasing OreTsuba as well.
- AIC is quite OVA-centric this time with the release of Amagami SS Special, Shukufuku no Campanella OVA and a hentai title too (0.0).
- Studio DEEN has gone Shounen-ai (YES! Making all those bishie series gave them a direction, ne~?) and are coming out with Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi OVA and twelve-episode series on the same.
- Studio Gokumi to come out with A Channel and our favourite lulz-producer: Koe de Oshigoto!’s second episode.
- White Fox, Kyoto Animation, Seven Arcs, P.A. Works, Diomedea, Dogakobo, Bee Train, Xebec, Gathering, Gallop, TMS Entertainment and DLE are coming out with one series only.
- Bones and GAINAX are taking a chill pill this season. Release the damn movie, GAINAX!!! (Refer to Quickening)
Spring Seiyuu Roundup: It’s all about the new blood these days~ I want some of my oldies back! D:
MALES:
- It was OD in Fall but this time around the busiest Male Seiyuu is actually Tomokazu Sugita for whom I’m quite glad that it is he. He’ll be voicing the awesome Gintoki and appearing in OreTsuba, Sket Dance, Tono to Issho 2 series, while Air Gear, Sex Pistols and Spelunker Sensei OVAs. Ono Daisuke on the other hand will only be appearing in Dog Days, Tono to Issho and Yozakura Quartet’s second OVA. He sure needs the rest.
- Hiro Shimono will be quite busy as well with Ring ni Kakeru, KamiNomi S2, OreTsuba, Sket Dance, while Gundam Unicorn, Sex Pistol and Baka to test OVAs.
- The seasoned Ryotaro Okiayu will be voice-acting in Toriko, Ring ni Kakero and Ao no Exorcist.
- Junichi Suwabe will be voicing for Deadman Wonderland, Blooming Flowers, OreTsuba, while Fairy Tail and HOTD Specials.
- Yuuki Kaji’s climbing the seiyuu ladder too with three series and two OVA roles. Namely, Deadman Wonderland, Ao no Exorcist, Blooming Flowers, Yozakura Quartet episode two and Air Gear OVA.
- I’m glad to see Takahiro Sakurai being busy with Dog Days, Ano Hana, C and Katteni Kaizo OVA (SHAFT, you win with awesome Sakurai roles~).
- Nobuhiko Okamoto would be delighting me by voicing Rin (Ao no Exorcist), along with roles in Sekai Ichi, Air Gear, Shukufu, Shiki and Kaichou wa Maid-sama! OVA/Specials.
- Hiroshi Kamiya will be around as Mephesto in Ao no Exorcist, Ring ni Kakeru and Sekai Ichi series.
- Some more quick favourites:
- Akira Ishida to reprise his role of Katsura in Gintama and would also be voicing in Henzemi and Princess Resurrection OVA.
- Satoshi Hino to voice in OreTsuba series, while Air Gear and Spelunker Sensei OVAs.
- Tomokazu Seki to voice in Sket Dance, Steins; Gate series and Air Gear OVA (IS EVERYONE ON AIR GEAR?! How long is that OVA anyway?)
- Namikawa Daisuke will be part of Kaiji S2 and Roberta’s trail and Gundam Unicorn OVAs.
- Two ROLES:
- Junji Majima to appear in Aria the Scarlet Ammo and Blooming Flowers.
- Mamoru Miyano luckily would be voicing two roles in Dog days and Steins; Gate.
- Same for the celebrity Gackt, who would be appearing in Tono to Issho 2 and Shiki special.
- Norio Wakamoto to voice in Dog days and Dororon Enma.
- Nakata Jouji to voice in Sket Dance and Princess Resurrection.
- Yuuichi Nakamura to voice in Sekai Ichi (fangasm) and Fairy Tail special.
- SADLY, Keiji Fujiwara and Jun Fukuyama are only appearing in one role; both in Ao no Exorcist.
FEMALES:
- Kana Hanazawa will again be the voice whore of the season. It’s not that I don’t like here-I LOVE HER but woman, don’t you get tired? Oh sorry, I’m preaching to the choir. She’ll be voicing eight roles; namely, Deadman Wonderland, Ao no Exorcist, Dog days, Henzemi, Steins;Gate, Moshidora, Morita-san OVA and Asobi ni Iku yo! OVA.
- Kitamura Eri is busy as usual with two major roles, while 6 from OVA/Movie. Namely: Ao no Exorcist, Sengoku Otome, Queens Blade, Princess Resurrection, HOTD OVA, Katteni OVA, Shiki Special and PreCure Movie.
- Rie Kugimiya is back with a back, of course with Kagura in Gintama and voicing roles in Ariathe Scarlet Ammo, Lotte’s Toy, Queen’s blade and Fairy Tail special.
- Noto Mamiko to voice roles in Blooming Flowers, Dororon Enma, Tono to Issho, Queen’s Blade OVA and Kamfer special.
- Yu Kobayashi’s still up with her own brand of voice with roles in Sket Dance, Steins;Gate, Maria Holic Alive, Tono to Issho 2 and Air Gear OVA.
- Yui Horie to voice in Dog days and Lotte’s Toy series, while Fairy Tail, Katteni Kaizo and Kamfer OVA/Special.
- Marina Inoue to voice in Sket Dance, Maria Holic Alive, HOTD OVA and Kamfer Special.
- Mariya Ise to voice-act in Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Sengoku Otome, Fairy Tail OVA and PreCure movie.
- Inoue Marina, another regular will be voicing 4 roles: major series in her kitty: Sket Dance, Maria Holic Alive, HOTD OVA and Kamfer special.
- Saori Goto’s lucky this season with Steins;Gate, Maria Holic Alive and C in her kitty.

- Sawashiro Miyuki to appear in Maria Holic Alive, Yozakura Quartet and HOTD OVAs.

Thanks for the info though. I always go by ANN > MAL because MAL is notorious for not giving out correct information; however, I trawled the web and found out that it is indeed Kamiyaan who voices Mephisto, while Ryotaro’s voicing Igor.

My advice to you, non-gintama watchers. Skip the first two episodes and start from episode three. It’s gag-filled with lots of comedy. Usually it hits home so you will enjoy it. It has become my dinner buddy these days. xD

Awesomeness of healthy food is; unless it being toned-down curry or soup, it’s pretty handy to eat (fruits/veggies ftw~) so I enjoy my food while laughing my ass off. Also, for those who want to cheat the system, do what Tofu did.

Ao no Exorcist — Been meaning to read this manga, but too lazy to even start. (I haven't even continued reading Deadman Wonderland because of said laziness..) So I'm also planning to check this out. XD
X-Men — Downloading for the boyfriend. ._. But it'll probably be deleted like Iron Man and Wolverine after the first episode or two..
The World God Only Knows S2 — Just watched the entire first season a few weeks ago.. it wasn't too bad, but it had it's moments, I suppose. Wanna see if it gets better. (lol Keima's mom is the best character. XD)
Sket Dance — Watched previews of this already.. I know I'm interested in it. XD
C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control — Saw the second or third commercial for this. Now I'm interested.
Steins;Gate — Another download for the boyfriend..
Koe de Oshigoto! — lolness for the boyfriend. We both enjoyed the first episode.
Kaichou wa Maid-sama Special — Enjoyed the shoujo-ness, so I'll watch this to see the characters again. XD

lots of shows but since school is done… well if im not too busy. none really that interesting though, maybe its because there is a lot of it this season.
C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control – sounds and looks interesting. got some vibes of a possible great one.
Ao no Exorcist – it has action, expecting pretty good ones and the guy is not a wimp.
Seikon no Qwaser II – this one is actually pretty good, if you dont mind the fanservice.
Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai II – though last season wasnt as good as I expected it, hopefully this one will be.
Kampfer fur die Liebe – shizuku!
Seitokai Yakuindomo OVA – it was hilarious. and contrary to what it looks, its not a harem.
Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu – very hilarious. seems like the OVAs are following the manga, which they diverged in the anime.
Sengoku Otome ~Momoiro Paradox~ – if its an all girls cast, chances of yuri are high.
Denpa onna to Seishun Otoko – made by SHAFT so il give it a chance.

yes thats what makes it interesting(aside from the breast sucking).
I dont mind seeing those and the main character is pretty badass, he just uses his main power in diff ways to defeat the enemies instead of getting powers as the story goes on.
its kinda like to aru majutsu no index, except darker, bloodier and ecchier. and the main character is cool and cold, something rare to find these days….

well if you like really bloody, dark, action, psychological with ecchi, then this is a really good series.
at least the main character is not a wimpy one and doesnt just gain power boost when they’re in danger.
oh and if you watch the censored version, you’ll miss those bloody scenes and ecchi moments. much better to watch the uncensored version.
