Anime Status: June ’09
Keeping up this monthly round-up now continuing from last time ^^.
Legend (‘coz I’m just cool):
– Climbed up/higher priority/getting better/no choice but to move it up because some series are out of the list (most cases). Getting an “up” doesn’t mean that it’s awesome already, because maybe the show count affects the list sometimes and it’s position might get affected. (example: Kannagi DVD Extra is out of the list now, that’s why those on the 4th spot and lower might get a chance to climb up).
– Fell down/lower priority/got boring or I’m feeling “meh” over it lately/no choice but to move it down because there are so much new entries on the list. And getting a “down” symbol doesn’t mean that it sucks already. It’s just that there might have been lots of newer entries that can affect its position (example: New summer shows starts flooding the list next month, so be prepared to see lots of this).
– New series/OVA/ONA/entry on the list
– Stayed in its own position/safe/consistent
NOTE: Keep in mind though that these adorable blinking symbols only detects the movement of the show on the list (in short, de-co-ra-tions). What really matters are their number positions ^^.
Just like last time, the list obviously shows my love for the current shows I’m watching right now. The number of shows will be really inconsistent. Like last month being a total of 21 shows, now it’s down only to twenty. It’s because some had been dropped or finished already. The list also includes finales that aired on the month, as well as specials, ONAs, OVAs and such. Not movies though. Lol.
Out of the list are the ones I had dropped on the previous list, and that’s Mecha Fail Fail 3d Show, Saki, Natsu no Arashi (yeah, I kept Asura Cryin’ over just for the fucking sake of completing it… and that’s a HUGE mistake I’ve made). I’m pretty sure to pick up Natsu no Arashi again though since I heard that it gets a sequel on fall.
Out of the list as well are the ones I’m currently putting on-hold for this month. And that’s Gintama, Shangri-la, Sora Kake Girl, Shugo Chara and Polyphonica. I’m having quite a problem on Tears to Tiara and FMA: Brotherhood though, because they can now be seen on our television, so I think I’ll remove them now as well. Btw, I’m just going to marathon Hatsukoi Limited whenever I had time, so yeah, it’s quite lucky because it got the spot of “Show to Marathon” for me XDD. Chi’s Sweet Home is an exception to the list as well because I have… nothing to say about it besides it’s… CUTE ^^.
Keep in mind that this list is highly personal, they’re judged by how I enjoyed it, and it’s highly biased so deal with it. It’s MY watch-list after all~
So yeah~ Let’s proceed with the list! Last month, I had Hetalia Axis Powers on my top spot, will it change because a few other series had their own finales? Which spot did some recently-ended series had landed? Let’s all see~

I understand what you mean by the quality sucking in Pandora Hearts. I hate it too. Which is why I stopped watching the anime after episode 6(actually it’s because I was never fully satisfied for what videos that the anime sharing websites offered showed. I wanted the full openings and endings and the episode with good quality subtitles. I’m picky when I watch anime sometimes. I’m more of a manga person 🙂 ). Also about that Haruhi second season. Seriously, where do you find the light novels without paying? I’ve only read the manga which is only 14 chapters and on hiatus(I watched the anime way before I got into manga). I must know what happens.

No, you’re not the only one watching HanaSei! I love Li Ren so much :blush2: ~~~ And yeah… I’m kinda :ehh: when Lumati brought up the proposal thing. They’re like, so young for that lmao.
Well I kinda feel the same way as you on 07-Ghost. I also am slowly getting bored of it, just like any other series midway through it being 20+ episodes and the slow pacing matches it well. But I agree that 12 was indeed awesome for the bloody factor.
The quality of Pandora Hearts jjust plain sucks. I didn’t even bothered watching more than 10 minutes of the first episode. Just sticking to the manga instead.
Hmm. Ristorante Paradiso is that good? I might give it try. I’ve read so much about it being really nice though, so yeah, I’m gonna start to watch it. I’m not sure if I’ll like the ojijis though xP (even though it seems like the show will revolve around them).
And I really have to catch up on Phantom now. There’s a cute new girl! :kyaa2:
And hell yes! Hetalia being at #1!!! It’s really awesome ^^. So yeah, I enjoyed reading this and I’m starting to really love this feature. Good job 😉

Hmm, I still 3 episodes behind on 07-Ghost. I’m okay with/maybe still even like Hakuren but you’re right. It really has gone into the midway boredom syndrome. At least when I was reading the manga, the chapters after that arc were already uploaded so I just sped past without being bored. Bringing myself to catch up on it, much less watch it right now…meh, don’t feel like it.
The same w/Pandora Hearts. I still didn’t watch 13 and I don’t know why my interest suddenly dropped. I love Cheshire so much, too. T_T *sigh*
But uwaaa…I liked Higurashi so much (even though I didn’t watch the first season ans only skimmed the second). There was a lot of dialogue but I kept on playing it over and over again. I’m so addicted to Yukarin’s adult voice in loli form. It makes me :XD: . Now I can’t wait to see Umineko.

I’m still on episode 5 of Asura Cryin’ but what the heck?! Now I’m not planning to continue the series anymore, considering how bland it had been and now it’s getting another season? I guess it would be better for me not to finish the first season.
Basquash! is literally squashed. I was very disappointed on episode 12. Episode 13 was quite better though, but yeah… seems you had dropped it already 😐
I’m really glad you called HiguRei OVA “awesome” because I think it really IS. AWESOME! I reeally don’t get why others call it “boring”, but I guess that happens when they have short patience and poor Japanese comprehension =P. No offense to them.
Heck yea at Phantom still being on the top 3. That’s still a high place (kinda like having the bronze medal lol).

Hanasakeru Seishounen eh? I used to watch that show but I stopped somewhere at episode 4 because it’s beginning to get so sappy..? Looking at different reviews on the episode makes me want to put it back on my watchlist but yeah, busy as hell. :baww: I hope I’ll be able to do something about that..
As for Pandora Hearts, I really agree with what you’ve said. The animation sucks so much that you’ll want to drop the anime but another episode seems to want to capture you into watching. Ah yes, it’s still year 2001 everytime we watch PH, yes?
There are actually 5 things in your spring platter that I wanted to check out and watch (namely, Sengoku Basara, Haruhi S2, Ristorante Paradiso, Phantom and Basquash). It’s just such a big mehhh that I don’t have time for these. I swear, when I get my Xmas break, I’ll watch all day! :ohohoho:
And yes, Hetalia will still be no. 1; as always~ Go Ita-chan! <33 *patapatapatapata*

all the 26 ep is freakin hilarious…
well i also love naruto but the anime is getting lost too far from it’s manga…hate it :bleh:
