Production: Seven Arcs

Seiyuu: Miyu Irino as Tomoharu Natsume, Haruka Tomatsu as Misao Minakami

Tsui: *drools at all of them*

BASQUASH!

[4/??]—–[26 episodes]—–[Website]—–[Trailer]

Production: Satelight

Seiyuu: Hiro Shimono as Dan JD, Kana Hanazawa as Coco JD

>> The story takes place on the planet Earthdash, where its inhabitants gaze on its moon and the technologically advanced lunar city of Mooneyes with awe. Dan JD, a boy living in Rollingtown on Earthdash’s surface, gets caught up in Bigfoot Basketball — a fast-paced sport played with giant Bigfoot robots.

Kanz: Umm… meh… I hate basketball… but sure thing that riding a mecha while playing it would keep me interested.

Tsui: I don’t know. The premise looks interesting, with basketball-playing added with a twist of mecha. Maybe I’ll watch it because of that, not a Satelight fan btw.

EDEN OF THE EAST

[4/??]—–[11 episodes]—–[Website]—–[Trailer]

Production: Production I.G.

>> On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike Japan. However, this unprecedented terrorist act, later to be called as “Careless Monday,” does not result in any apparent victims, and is soon forgotten by almost everyone. Then, 3 months later… Saki Morimi is a young woman currently in the United States of America on her graduation trip. But just when she is in front of the White House, Washington DC, she gets into trouble, and only the unexpected intervention of one of her fellow countrymen saves her. However, this man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, is a complete mystery. He appears to have lost his memory. and he is stark naked, except for the gun he holds in one hand, and the mobile phone he’s holding with the other hand. A phone that is charged with 8,200,000,000 yen in digital cash.

Kanz: Wow, that’s a weird premise…

Tsui: Anime about cellphones? [EDIT]: After that much “revealing” short clip preview, this one might be the one to watch this Spring.

FULL METAL ALCHEMIST

[4/??]—–[Website]

Production: BONES

Seiyuu: Rie Kugimiya as Alphonse Elric, Romi Paku as Edward Elric

>> [Season 1] After losing their mother, Alphonse and Edward Elric attempt to bring her back using the forbidden science of human alchemy. However, alchemy operates on the theory of equivalent trade, and breaking the human alchemy taboo carries a heavy price. Ed loses his leg, and Al loses his body. Ed is able to seal Al’s soul inside of a huge suit of armor, at the cost of his arm. Years later, Ed (now with two mechanical limbs) and Al (still trapped in the armor) leave their childhood home, each brother concerned with the other’s happiness. Ed, who has a natural talent and skill for alchemy, becomes nationally certified and is soon known everywhere as the “Fullmetal Alchemist.” Their true objective is to search for any information on the fabled Philosopher’s Stone, hoping it will allow them to regain their old bodies. All of their hopes rest with this mythical stone, which may not even exist at all. However, the brothers soon learn that they are not the only ones after the powerful stone.

Kanz: So I guess this would be “The” anime for Spring. Many people are really anticipating this one… But for me, I still don’t know if I would continue it. I’ll just give room for some other shows this season before this one…

Tsui: Of course I’ll be watching this! I’m definitely waiting for more badass action. FMA is one of my all-time favorite animes btw.

Mimi 😉 : Tsui…cracked up~desu 😉

Thanks for the very detailed (and very entertaining) coverage for the upcoming season. I am sure to be watching Full Metal Alchemist. Plus I’m so glad that Rie Kugimiya and Romi Oaku retained their roles as Ed and Al.

Lot of OVAs too. I’ll probably check out DOGS, for it seems like a good watch. Hope it would not fail as an adaptation though.

  2. Ashe says:

Wow so early but thanks for the preview!!! I have sure picked out a couple or two shows this season. It’s definitely better than Winter season ^_^

Wow Mimi is joining you two on commentary!

ZOMG La Corda!!! Will it be a full second season or is it just an OVA? Anyways, I’ve been waiting for my whole life for this one. My friends always keep telling me that it’s impossible for it to have a sequel but ha!

And Phantom looks interesting too ^^

OMG K-On!!! Definitely looking forward to this one! KyoANi is so good with what they did on TMoHS so I’m definitely looking forward to this!

I still don’t know if I’ll pick up game turned anime adaptations this season because the previous ones disappointed me. Hope Valkyria Chronicles would change it since it looks promising. I also like the character designs ^^.

I lol’d so hard at the Tayutama comments XDD… Poor Mimi-chan…

  3. shoryu says:

Looking forward to Natsu no Arashi and Shangri-la. I’ll also try Saki (but the comments about Gonzo censoring makes me worry though xD). And as for the OVAs, Denpa Teki na Kanojo and Dogs are the ones I’ll try to check out. Oh, and K-on too. I have no idea with its plot but for the sake of KyoAni worship, I’ll watch it.

  4. kanzeon says:

@defining_gravity: Welcome ^^. And I love Rie’s interpretation for Ed! She shows versatility asides from her tsundere roles. I don’t know about dogs though… I only know a small bit of it and I haven’t read the yet.

@Ashe: Yea, Mimi joins in ^^. I was also waiting for a La Corda sequel to come! And I’m so glad it did! This is just a primer though, but I’m not yet sure… And with KyoAni under K-On!, I also have high hopes ^^. AND OMG Valkyria!!! I hope it would not be disappointing unlike those other adaptations!!!

@shoryu: Well, lol we’re just predicting though about Saki XDD… Well you know GONZO’s hardest efforts for them to make everyone buy DVDs… SO maybe that thing could happen XDDD

  5. Slaterj says:

The Haruhi second series announcement turned out to be a disappointing troll.. Somewhat I’m getting too tired of waiting. For the next season, I’ll be checking out Shangri-la, for it has a really interesting premise. The Gonzo thing under it was worrying though… But who knows, maybe it would be a hit?

  6. FuyuMaiden says:

:XD: That was great. I know to expect the super early preview from you now, but this was just great. I love mimi. So cute~ Please don’t kill her! (Wait, I’m assuming it’s a her, right?)

My picks are still pretty much the same except now I think I need to add Asura Cryin’ in there. I was already interested, but now I need to watch it for the seiyuu. ANN tells me I get to see moar Sayuri Yahagi! :omg:

  7. Kitsune says:

I am a very visual person and like to imagine things that I read. Reading the intro to this post, reminded me of this Luca moment

    Oh wow… So many OVAs…

HANASAKERU SEISHOUNEN looks fabulous! I want to blog it, but we’ll see if I find time.

I liked the song in the trailer of Ghost 7 🙂 I don’t like the style of character design, but that guy with white hair and purple eyes is hot ( Reminds me of a male version of a certain maid 😛 )! The protagonist with green eyes reminded me of Raven from Hakushaku to Yousei.

When a mysterious naked man saves a woman in front of a White House, you know the series is going to be good 😛

I have somewhat ambivalent feelings to FMA 2. On one hand, I am curious to see the new version, but on the other hand, since I already know the characters and traveled with them on their journey, I am somewhat hesitant to go through it again. Also, since music plays a big part in my anime experience and Michiru OSHIMA (she also composed for Xam’d) did an excellent job, I want to keep my memory of the original anime the way it is.

Shangri-la has great character design by Range Murata 🙂

It is highly likely that I’ll blog at least two of the shows, but which ones will they be is a secret for now 😛

uwaa~ lots of shows, can’t decide what to watch… Oh well, I’ll wait until I actually have to decide. I just hope something can fill the void that Toradora will be leaving. Sucks that it’s going to be over :<

Spring is the second best season next to Fall of course. A lot of anime that I’ll be watching. I can’t decide which to choose T_T

  12. fye says:

Yay!!! Thanks for the awesome early preview! *lovin’ it*

07-Ghost is a definite watch for me!!! I’m also fangirling it especially Teito and Mikage!!! Kyaaa~~~ But well you might know what would happen next right T_T? And I’m also glad it’s by Studio DEEN! Since the character designs reminds me so much of Junjou Romantica. I guess it’s the perfect production studio for it. ^_^

Besides from that, need to find more shows that’ll catch my interest thoguh, so I’ll check back into this list every once in a while 😀

:ohohoho: Lol at Mimi teasing you and your co-author XD… I lol so much.

  13. foomafoo says:

I missed blissmo when I saw the bunnies :bunny:
Pandora Hearts really looks cool! I think I might watch it.
K-on looks weird but I guess I’ll take a peek.
Natsu no Arashi – the girl looks like Yakumo-ish Yomi; As far as I remember it has the same author with School Rumble so I’ll watch it 🙂
Hahaha Also, La Corda- I hope Lily won’t show up.

Good Luck on your graduation ~ (since you’ve mentioned it, where will you guys study in college?)
