PHANTOM ~REQUIEM OF THE PHANTOM~

[4/02]—–[Website]—–[Trailer]

Production: Bee Train

Seiyuu: Miyu Irino as Zwei, Ayahi Takagaki as Ein

>> Adaptation of the Nitro+ Visual Novel. A spate of mafia assasinations occurs in America, the work of the mysterious organization named Inferno. “Phantom” is their most strongest and capable assassin, however a lone tourist witnesses Phantom’s latest act of murder. He unwittingly exposes the top assassin’s true identity, a young girl named Ein. Witnesses are usually killed, but the man is captured and taken to be brainwashed into “Zwei”, Inferno’s newest assassin, with no memory of who he is. From this point on, Zwei is drawn into a world of conspiracy, deceit and violence.

Kanz: I had watched the trailer and it looks really promising. I haven’t watched the first OVA so I have no idea with the story. It’s both yes and now for me because of Nitro+ and BeeTrain respectively, but I’m kinda leaning on yes on checking out this one.

Tsui: The trailer looks smokin’ hot! I mean, maids with guns FTW! This should be good. This would be a sure-watch for me this season. I’ll give Bee Trainwreck a chance. Did I mentioned the maid?

Kanz: They’re too prettehh…

Tsui: Bishies sometimes can be bad for your health…

KONNICHI WA ANNE (BEFORE GREEN GABLES)

[04/05]—–[39 episodes]—–[Website]—–[Trailer]

Production: Nippon Animation

Kanz: Uhh… so fed up with Princess Sarah and Nobody’s Girl already so not watching kiddie dramas anymore.

Tsui: Wow those animes… Good times… Good times…

NATSU NO ARASHI

[4/05]—–[Website]—–[Trailer]

Production: SHAFT

Seiyuu: Ryoko Shiraishi as Arashi , Chiaki Omigawa as Kamigamo, Kaori Nazuka as Kaja, Yuko Sanpei as Yasaka

>> In an old town coffee shop, a boy met an older high school girl. From there, everything was… An unforgettable summer began.

Kanz: I find it unexpected for SHAFT to be handling this show. Neverthelesss, I honestly didn’t like the manga, which is ironic because I lovelovelove School Rumble. Maybe the main lead guy just lacks awesomeness unlike Harima… So pass, even though it would be under SHAFT.

Tsui: School Rumble is my favorite, so since this is from the same creator, maybe I’ll be checking out this one. Plus I love the works of SHAFT for its randomness so it’s a plus.

07-GHOST

Here, he discovered many mysteries surrounding himself, the church, and the Empire itself. The fact that he might be connected to a dethroned king and the mystical stone of god, ‘The Eye of Mikhael’ made him the target of the empire more than ever. And who is the military’s Chief-of-Staff Ayanami exactly. Teito’s future seems to have spiraled into an unexpectedly perilous path.

Kanz: OMG the show I’m definitely looking forward and fangirl to this Spring!!! I’m also glad that it would be animated by Studio DEEN. It has a nice plot and setting. Plus the characters are all awesome to their own extent. Major manga fangirl here XD!!!

Tsui: Wow I watched the trailer and it’s so gay their outfits reminded me of Code Geass LOL… I haven’t read the manga though, but since you mentioned “fangirl to”, you creeped me out that this would have a BL vibe.

Thanks for the very detailed (and very entertaining) coverage for the upcoming season. I am sure to be watching Full Metal Alchemist. Plus I’m so glad that Rie Kugimiya and Romi Oaku retained their roles as Ed and Al.

Lot of OVAs too. I’ll probably check out DOGS, for it seems like a good watch. Hope it would not fail as an adaptation though.

  2. Ashe says:

Wow so early but thanks for the preview!!! I have sure picked out a couple or two shows this season. It’s definitely better than Winter season ^_^

Wow Mimi is joining you two on commentary!

ZOMG La Corda!!! Will it be a full second season or is it just an OVA? Anyways, I’ve been waiting for my whole life for this one. My friends always keep telling me that it’s impossible for it to have a sequel but ha!

And Phantom looks interesting too ^^

OMG K-On!!! Definitely looking forward to this one! KyoANi is so good with what they did on TMoHS so I’m definitely looking forward to this!

I still don’t know if I’ll pick up game turned anime adaptations this season because the previous ones disappointed me. Hope Valkyria Chronicles would change it since it looks promising. I also like the character designs ^^.

I lol’d so hard at the Tayutama comments XDD… Poor Mimi-chan…

  3. shoryu says:

Looking forward to Natsu no Arashi and Shangri-la. I’ll also try Saki (but the comments about Gonzo censoring makes me worry though xD). And as for the OVAs, Denpa Teki na Kanojo and Dogs are the ones I’ll try to check out. Oh, and K-on too. I have no idea with its plot but for the sake of KyoAni worship, I’ll watch it.

  4. kanzeon says:

@defining_gravity: Welcome ^^. And I love Rie’s interpretation for Ed! She shows versatility asides from her tsundere roles. I don’t know about dogs though… I only know a small bit of it and I haven’t read the yet.

@Ashe: Yea, Mimi joins in ^^. I was also waiting for a La Corda sequel to come! And I’m so glad it did! This is just a primer though, but I’m not yet sure… And with KyoAni under K-On!, I also have high hopes ^^. AND OMG Valkyria!!! I hope it would not be disappointing unlike those other adaptations!!!

@shoryu: Well, lol we’re just predicting though about Saki XDD… Well you know GONZO’s hardest efforts for them to make everyone buy DVDs… SO maybe that thing could happen XDDD

  5. Slaterj says:

The Haruhi second series announcement turned out to be a disappointing troll.. Somewhat I’m getting too tired of waiting. For the next season, I’ll be checking out Shangri-la, for it has a really interesting premise. The Gonzo thing under it was worrying though… But who knows, maybe it would be a hit?

  6. FuyuMaiden says:

:XD: That was great. I know to expect the super early preview from you now, but this was just great. I love mimi. So cute~ Please don’t kill her! (Wait, I’m assuming it’s a her, right?)

My picks are still pretty much the same except now I think I need to add Asura Cryin’ in there. I was already interested, but now I need to watch it for the seiyuu. ANN tells me I get to see moar Sayuri Yahagi! :omg:

  7. Kitsune says:

I am a very visual person and like to imagine things that I read. Reading the intro to this post, reminded me of this Luca moment

    Oh wow… So many OVAs…

HANASAKERU SEISHOUNEN looks fabulous! I want to blog it, but we’ll see if I find time.

I liked the song in the trailer of Ghost 7 🙂 I don’t like the style of character design, but that guy with white hair and purple eyes is hot ( Reminds me of a male version of a certain maid 😛 )! The protagonist with green eyes reminded me of Raven from Hakushaku to Yousei.

When a mysterious naked man saves a woman in front of a White House, you know the series is going to be good 😛

I have somewhat ambivalent feelings to FMA 2. On one hand, I am curious to see the new version, but on the other hand, since I already know the characters and traveled with them on their journey, I am somewhat hesitant to go through it again. Also, since music plays a big part in my anime experience and Michiru OSHIMA (she also composed for Xam’d) did an excellent job, I want to keep my memory of the original anime the way it is.

Shangri-la has great character design by Range Murata 🙂

It is highly likely that I’ll blog at least two of the shows, but which ones will they be is a secret for now 😛

uwaa~ lots of shows, can’t decide what to watch… Oh well, I’ll wait until I actually have to decide. I just hope something can fill the void that Toradora will be leaving. Sucks that it’s going to be over :<

Spring is the second best season next to Fall of course. A lot of anime that I’ll be watching. I can’t decide which to choose T_T

  12. fye says:

Yay!!! Thanks for the awesome early preview! *lovin’ it*

07-Ghost is a definite watch for me!!! I’m also fangirling it especially Teito and Mikage!!! Kyaaa~~~ But well you might know what would happen next right T_T? And I’m also glad it’s by Studio DEEN! Since the character designs reminds me so much of Junjou Romantica. I guess it’s the perfect production studio for it. ^_^

Besides from that, need to find more shows that’ll catch my interest thoguh, so I’ll check back into this list every once in a while 😀

:ohohoho: Lol at Mimi teasing you and your co-author XD… I lol so much.

  13. foomafoo says:

I missed blissmo when I saw the bunnies :bunny:
Pandora Hearts really looks cool! I think I might watch it.
K-on looks weird but I guess I’ll take a peek.
Natsu no Arashi – the girl looks like Yakumo-ish Yomi; As far as I remember it has the same author with School Rumble so I’ll watch it 🙂
Hahaha Also, La Corda- I hope Lily won’t show up.

Good Luck on your graduation ~ (since you’ve mentioned it, where will you guys study in college?)
