Akko is great with animals.
Sorry for the long delay of LWA posts! I got into a bit of the old being burned out on blogging flu and got way behind on LWA, but I still love this series a lot! And I’m so excited to see where the second half goes because WOW! It’s gotten really interesting thanks to episode eleven aka the “plot reveal episode” I guess not so much a plot but more of an actual mission for Akko? At the start of this series I know countless “fans” bitched about there not being much of a “plot” after six or so episodes; however those fans can calm down because there is finally an end goal for Akko and a real story being shown. Then again I have to ask this question does LWA need all the basic anime tropes? As in a real villain? World destruction plot? Power boosts or does LWA shine the most whenever Akko, Sucy and Lotte are going on week to week silly magical adventures together? Personally I like a bit of both, buy honestly I feel that Trigger has been doing that from the start by playing things to both kinds of fans of LWA by giving us silly magic episodes and at the same time giving us story/plot filled episodes.

I really like the way that Akko is growing up through the run of the series, and coming into herself, maybe losing a bit of the desperation that she had early on. And I like that it’s not just going straight towards the 7 words, but throwing in misdirection and dead ends.
Sometimes they come a little too easy to Akko, tho. The episode with Lotte’s parents, she was about anything but Patience, but showed just a teeny bit at the end and poof! But in general, I like the way the show is going.

Yeah they have really done a good job on Akko’s character development and she isn’t as wild as she used to be and agreed she isn’t always after the words, but yeah I like how she doesn’t instantly get the words every episode.
Oh for sure Akko doesn’t have to work too hard for the words and she does get a push from Ursula, but she did say she knows at least six of the seven words so maybe Akko will have to really work to get the seventh word by herself?
