I plan on reviewing this series for the rest of the season and maybe ill add it to Mechanorn sometime in the future! Is Regalia amazing? Not really, but it does provide some level of entertainment at least.
Steampunk Spycraft! I’ve been a fan of the steampunk since I was a child growing up in the 1970s. In just a few months time I had devoured both the book and the 1954 film version of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Now, to be certain, that term had…
Gatchaman in space or more like Mecha Moretsu Pirates? This season has some serious slim pickings when it comes to mecha anime so I hope this is enough to hold me over since Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans ended, but I have a feeling that nobody is actually going to watch…
The LOLi characters are taking over The time has come to start MechaNorn once again! While this season is void of any real mecha anime besides the likes of ID-0 I decided to talk about ID-0 and Atom the beginning as well because it does have a lot of robots…
Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

I think maybe the “three sizes” question worked on two levels. One it was a distraction that actually benefited Yui more in the long run, getting her out of some questions she really really didn’t want to answer about Rena and larger connections to Big Scary Robots…which is seen more like a disaster than an invasion, I think.
But two, that question just leads her into the Baddie’s hands. So she’s easily manipulated even being a leader of a country? But the Baddie is a magician…so I think the way to get advantage over him is to get off his playing field. After years of watching Penn and Teller, magicians are all about the set up…
I rather like the combat, as it seems more expressive and creative than focusing on fighting or action choreography. Yeah, just like Star Driver…
The combat itself is ok for me, but it’s ruined by the whole pedestrian setup. Why is everyone taking a run at Rena (and now Yui)? Why now? Who are all these different factions? What’s the point? There doesn’t seem to be any motivation beyond “They want to fight, so let’s have a fight!”
And then the fighting itself feels like yet another redo of “powerful noob vs experienced team”. But it just kinda hangs there. What are the consequences for losing? Will Yui or Rena die? Will they get captured? Would there even be any consequences? And Rena is supposed to be this powerful and experienced person, yet she fights like a “Power Idiot” and keeps falling for sucker moves.
I rather like this sort of giant robot combat the most –Kurumukuro is on a different level and a different conversation – as it really suits the more fantasy tinged aspect of giant robots than the realistic; which is more what Robotics; Notes was for. But having said that, it was a bunch of marks in boxes…
I’ll give this show major marks for two things. The MC isn’t a brooding, angst ridden male teen. And the hero pilot isn’t someone with zero experience who somehow makes a connection with a giant robot and proves to be a genius natural. Rena at least has experience.
Other than that it isn’t particularly inspired. So far it’s decent entertainment, but no more than that.
I thank you people for posting this, even if this is just temporary, i do really admit that i truly want this to be a hard hitter, but then again we already see it’s results, the action there is great but sadly attraction level for this is kinda low, Still they still had chances to shine so it’s never too late for this…
If the Previous Show facing off some Pirates (and never happened, but they facing, Infected Vermin instead), how about this one…Um, Some Ancient Cult or Something!? i was wondering that those 3 “girls” are the last relics of the ancient times, and if they gather up…Well who knows!
You’re welcome! I’m going to try my best to keep things going and I feel the same I want this to be a surprise series, but I won’t hold my breath.
Yeah I don’t know who or what is the real threat in Regalia quite yet so anything is possible! I just want them to reveal how these girls are able to summon the robots and where they come from.

I guess you just gotta wait? I can’t recall any series revealing all their important story or character plots with in just two episodes.

…Rena seems to have some angst..not ridden, but defiantly carrying…

Some angst is okay as long as it isn’t a character’s dominate trait.
