Luck & Logic – 08

Dat grrr face~

winter15-foshAfter last week it looked like things were going to finally take a break from character stories of the week, but sadly it looks like were back to that since this whole episode was basically a story centered around Veronica and nothing further revealed about Lucifer…

Veronica vs The Ice Belva?

main (1)

Gotta love Nemesis’s winter outfit!

I remember we joked around a while back about Veronica getting her own episode later on and sure enough she did and I hate to say it, but damn this was easily the worst episode of Luck and Logic! Why you ask? Personally I’ve just never thought of Veronica as being interesting or cool because she comes off as being the typical commander type of character that we’ve seen over and over again! I do however think her partner Nemesis is rather interesting and she is the exact opposite of Veronica since she is both fun and interesting. So with this being a Veronica episode what happened? I guess she admired her own commander Ash Paxton back in the day and four years ago he was trance jacked by a foreigner called an Ice Belva? I swear the CGI on that creature was the worst thing ever, but anyway the truth was kept hidden from Veronica and the other ALCA members because we learned that he tried to force an Over Trance to happen with the Ice Belva resulting in his mind being trapped inside the creature and now he is awake and going on a rampage! I think when they put his original body out in the open at the start of the episode it caused the Ice Belva to wake up? And the discovery of him waking up caused Veronica to run off on her own to stop the creature herself? Oh and she was also planning to resign as commander of the current ALCA? Wow talk about extreme, but I suppose this Ash dude was very important to Veronica so she had to deal with the problem because it was personal to her; however just a few weeks ago wasn’t she preaching over and over again to Yurine that one time to follow orders and not let personal views get in the way? Maybe she forgot about that huh? Whatever the case it was funny how Yoshichika managed to show her a quick video during the final fight with the Ice Belva and she figured out the truth and spared the creatures life! Finally Yoshichika did something correct for once and everyone learned Orlov Tunguska was the real villain.

End Thoughts

Yeah like I said I found this Veronica themed episode to be kinda dull since I was expecting more focus on Lucifer since they talked about him last week, but nope! They just had to focus on another character! While that stuff wasn’t all that interesting to me personally I loved the tiny moments we saw between Yukari and Quetzie even though they were mostly talking about food the entire time, but hey at least it shows us how close the two of them have come in such a short time and I honestly can’t see him betraying her anytime soon. So what did you like? Was I completely wrong about this being a boring episode? What’s going to happen next week? Are we going to follow the Lucifer plot or do something completely random with another character ? Whatever the case we’re almost finished with Luck and Logic so they better do something interesting soon.

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Hey, Fosh! Heads up!

ANN News: Symphogear Anime Gets Both 4th & 5th Seasons With Game in Production

    • Foshizzel says:

Yep I know and I’m quite hyped for both seasons! I would love if both seasons had 25 episodes, but I’m gonna guess both seasons will just stick to 12 episodes each.

      • BlackBriar says:

Yeah, a big surprise! We would’ve been grateful for a 4th season if granted but a 5th is an added bonus!

You mean 13 episodes each because that was the episode total for the past three seasons.

        • Foshizzel says:

At this point ill take whatever they throw at me! Hell I would even be somewhat fine with a Symphogear movie.

          • BlackBriar says:

Well, right now, it’s wondering what the two seasons will be about. Though we shouldn’t worry too much because we didn’t know what the third season’s plot was either at the time and look how well that turned out.

            • Foshizzel says:

Well the end of s3 hinted at a plot with magical girls popping up since “magic” was unlocked? So expect to see classic looking magical girls vs the Symphogear girls or whatever they plan on calling them? s3’s villain was more of a witch since that was her background.

My comment to skylion about this one was that “they 35th’d the episode”. Basically, they tried to fit too much story into this one episode, so it turned into an outline of a big story. They did make some pretty good choices, still, like not showing a lot of Veronica’s fighting, which is boring as heck. And they made a good choice also including Yukari and Quetzie, even if they were more of a ferry service. They bring a much better mood than Chloe or Mana.

Really, I thought this could have been a good background story if it was given a little more time, say an episode and a half, with half-an-episode of character interactions back at the base or something thrown in. Make Ash Paxton be more important. Make the betrayal of values by Ash and the director of research guy be more important. That would have helped get what the values of ALCA are across to the audience better.

    What Fosh would like.

  4. BlackBriar says:

Well, that was a lot of action squeezed in this week.

What an distasteful revelation for Veronica. So basically, her “savior” got what he deserved for messing with something he shouldn’t have. If it weren’t for everyone surrounding her, her spirit would have been broken right then.

Yakari needs to keep tabs on Quetzie and do it often. He’s made it clear he can give Shaggy and Scooby a run for their money in the eating department.

LOL at Olga’s response after being “assigned” to clean up Veronica’s room. I can hear my Logic. It says “victim of circumstance.”

    • Foshizzel says:

      Yeah truth!

I don’t like how they treated Veronica this week! They had the perfect chance to tell her backstory and explain why she looked up to this Ash fellow but noppeeee! They had to rush it.

LOL agreed and they never gain weight!

Yeaaah Olga being Olga I guess….
