Log Horizon 2 04 – 07

LOGHORIZON2 (2)

Akatsuki takes a break from training.

Yoooooooooooo! Sorry for the delay on Log Horizon minitalks, but stuff happens like the start of the new World of Warcraft expansion Warlords of Draenor which I am currently playing as I level my characters from ninety to one hundred! Other than that it was really exciting to talk about these episodes which are generally more focused on Akatsuki and Akihabara being attacked by some crazy NPC and the shocking developments around Krusty’s disappearance.

Guys, Destiny. That’s what’s going on with me. Anyway, good to get back to talking about this with Fosh as things have been interesting away from Shiroe’s raiding. “Venus…help with the Minotaur…come down, I’ll cleanse you…we’re coming out…everyone to the middle…which side…blah blah…”

Good for you… I haven’t even caught up with the last… 5 episodes due to apathy.

I suspect Krusty is twotiming (Len/Ray)nessia secretly. 😀

Gaming is the culprit for your absence? Then all is forgiven. This series is about a game. 😛

These three recent episodes, in my opinion, must have had more action than the entire first season ever had. Color me surprised at what I saw. They were more story driven and character developed as well. Very impressive. The overall notable achievement here is that Akatsuki has grown more social towards everyone rather than just hovering around Shiroe, Naotsugu and Nyanta while doing everything possible to get stronger and deal with the murderer. It was clear enough that she didn’t like to be around crowds of people.

The whole flavor text factor, that gradually got creepy the more it got talked about and hit its peak after what happened to Crusty. I was like “Whoa! What’s going to happen next?” Then comes the reveal that the sword the muderer has is possessed by a vengeful noble. So we could expect other worse mythologies may be coming true as well. The supernatural may not have been real in the real world but it’s definitely capable of being real in Log Horizon now.

Okay, done. As promised, backwards from 7 to 3.

Since I’ve already read Volumes 6 and 7, I know how Akatsuki’s and Shiroe’s adventures end. Show ▼

Just like in any MMORPG, you don’t win everytime on the first try, even in a huge raid.

Krusty the Klown’s substory is more of an interest to me since its not in the first 7 LNs. Our LN informant may have to correct me.

I see what Deen has done and mixed LN 6 and 7 together instead of doing them in order. Whilst the events of 6 and 7 take place concurrently, the switching of stories does make it difficult to watch and understand properly. This partially explains my apathy after realising what Deen is trying to do after the first 2 episodes. You need to watch this in batches.

Also, a lot of padding filler since 6+7 = 10 chapters and previously they’d done 1 episode = 1 chapter.

However, overall, it’s still more representative of what happens in an MMORPG rather than the OTHER alternative. ^_^

Yay! More Akatsuki! I’m glad to see her get character development. And yes, that glimpse into the real world was quite nice. Good to see DEEN paying attention to some of the details. SAO..same character design on and offline. DEEN ups that! Yes, I’m giving that studio some props..

    • Foshizzel says:

I second that Yay! More Akatsuki! <3

Yeah we got a preview of the real world which was awesome and I have my fingers crossed for everyone to get out of the game word and yeah the designs for the game world vs real was different and I am glad! DEEN showed that part.

I’ve found these episodes focused on Akatsuki and the going-ons in Akihabara, especially the focus on Akatsuki, more interesting than Shiroe’s raid. Some good character development for her and it was nice getting a glimpse into her life before getting trapped in the game world. Looking forward to an epic battle next episode. And she has got to get hold of that sword that rusts armor! A character so epic needs an epic weapon.

    • Foshizzel says:

Ohhhh yeah for the non MMORPG players out there I can see them finding the raiding aspect of Log Horizon as being boring especially if they have never done a raid before so that is perfectly understanding.

Akatsuki getting more of a focus is GREAT! She never really got much development in the first season as just being the token moe character next too Serara of course so yeah! This season is giving her more story involvement <3

      • HannoX says:

While I’ve never played a MMORPG I was a very early D&D player and DM. Heck, I started playing with the original boxed set of 3 booklets and the supplement that added thief characters! So I can appreciate a good dungeon crawl and battles. But that was pretty much all those episodes were. Give me some interaction between the characters and character development along with the battles. And don’t leave out Akatsuki!

        • skylion says:

Oh, did you color in the dice with the white crayon! 1983! Represent!

          • HannoX says:

I don’t remember the exact year, but I started in the mid-1970s. Last time I ran a game was in the ’90s.

        • Foshizzel says:

I had a D&D game running with my cousin, brother and my dad it was really fun! Sadly that stopped after a few of the players involved had to quit due to irl issues so its cool stuff happens.
