Hanayamata – 05
This cruzzle is all the buuzzle
Ah,the ancient art of the press gang. It kept our ships sailing, and also made them mutiny. Which is what Yaya is just about on the edge for right about now…
———————————————————————————————————————————————-
It takes four (but five is nice)
Try and keep up Yaya…
Phew, I’ve been rather busy these past few days. Other than watching Barakamon, and putting out that post, I’ve had precious little time for anime or for aniblogging. But, even without that, I think I know just how much balance of time Yaya is thinking about. Front and center, we get an image of her popularity with her own school light music club; of which she is a very active participant. So she signs on as a “member in name only” just to fill out the ranks after Tami joins in. With that they add Sally-sensei as advisor, and they are official. Now the real work begins.
We’ve seen Hana is all her form for most of the show, but I think she was in her rarest, and most hyper of all this time around. And who can blame her? She got her big wish, she got her club. And with that in mind it does rather make me wonder how much of her is playing the manipulator. She can push Yaya almost to that girl’s limits, but never to far, and never to much (yet?). With this is mind, Haru is definitely her ace player, one that netted Tami in short order, and seems to have no problem getting the emotional press gang on Yaya. But it’s good to see this team in place. Tami brings a sense of class, and Yaya can bring a solid work ethic when the time comes for her to step up.
…and they got something to look up too…
…and hard work is what will make or break any endeavour. It’s something that Boss brings to the table. The team he is subbing in for had to do all the work on their own. Not just dance moves, but costumes, coordination between members, coming up with the cash and other resources….He appreciates that, and doesn’t hesitate to let our girls know that now the same is in store for them, if they are going to be serious about this. But we see that the new club is in good hands and hearts. Haru is the heart and soul of the team, and she wants to write the best story she can (loved that bit!). She has Hana as her hands after all. That can make for a wild story.
Extra
Well, if I have one grumble about this show is that the yosakoi is in short order…something something something about glass. Seriously, by episode five we should be steeping in it. But there is something to appreciate about the slow path. We have our steps measured out in Haru’s sense of hesitation along with Yaya’s intense need. So while we may get the briefest of glimpses of the actual dance, we also get the building of these friendships. I wonder how much that troop featured this episode had that going for them. What steps did they take to get as far as they have. What stories were they able to tell with each other…and can you lose part of those stories and still have it be complete, or rush a part and have it be the same? As always, I leave you to share your thoughts…

…You’re saying “Haru” instead of Naru again.
I believe the message there is more positive. Yes, there’s a lot of work to do, but that team started out exactly where our little yosakoi club is now, and look at how far they have come. Even though they’re children, they were able to make their dream become reality. They proved it can be done, and by that token they proved that our girls can do it as well, as long as they are willing to truly work at it.

Hey, it’s not my fault she should have been named Haru all along, OK!
I thought I struck the positive note rather well there…

Yay more hyper cute girls doing hyper cute things! This episode felt a bit too hyper for me but I still enjoyed it like always. The girls are all excited to see their first Yosakoi live, so it was to be expect of the hyperness. Yaya is still growing on me, I like her because she sets the mood for things, the clam one that doesn’t really get that excited and doesn’t see what the big deal is.. but slowly we will see her coming around hehe.
Haru is Still very cute to me, and her dreams and seeing her get even more motivated is adorable. Yaya again shes growing on me, and Tami shes cute but i don’t really notice her much, she just there, a side character if you would, but still likeable. I love Hana, she what I expect from an american, and Totally act like one too.. or at least that’s how id act haha just tuned down the hpyerness and you got me. Now Glasses That is what I’m hyped to see “how” she becomes a member, However Sally-sensei as advisor looks like her mom hehe.
The ending of this episode was magical, I liked seeing Haru getting motivated, and the scene with Hana speechlessly watching the Yosakoi was a great moment to me, Like you said, she finally has her dream started.. and no it will only get better because 3 of the members are seeing it’s going to be lots of work but are detemined to give it a serious go! So ya, a bit too hyper of an episode for me, But Still quite enjoyable with those nice precious moments of friendship and all that!

Yeah, we definitely need to see how they get the Ma in HaNaYaMaTa. I don’t think she’s going to be an easy catch, but unlike Yaya, one they get her in, she would be all “I’m in this in name only!”

I’m really wondering what hook they’ll find to get Yaya sold on Yosakoi. If she keeps up the ‘in name only’ membership I wouldn’t imagine she’d last long. Also still pondering how they’ll get student council prez to join, hoping for an episode on that soon!

I have no clue how Yaya or Machi will join up, that’s part of the fun.
