Captain Earth – 14

Who knew that the Earth Engine had teeth?

Welcome back to another mini-talk with me, Skylion and Jrow! This is a Hana themed episode so people who are not fans of hers will probably find this to be a very dull episode because quite frankly nobody cares about her as a character, but at least we got a new OP and ED this week that I really love! Now we just need to wait for the full versions to come out…

This wasn’t all a beach episode, so, I decided to continue with this series. Well, another okay episode, though I do like that they at least have some development for Hana, though it isn’t much and I doubt it will last. I like the new OP, though I think the song is pretty boring. We get to see that Setsuna does indeed join the Gears and we get to see the Killtgang form of all the Gears as well. Her Gothic dress and top hat are kind of cute.

Kube is on borrowed time, and I have a feeling that the “Kube” shown in the OP isn’t Kube himself, but Puck in Kube’s body, thanks to Dr. Mao’s dream invention. The way he looked just seemed a little too sinister for the normal human guy. Also, all the shots in the background of him show the moon base, the killtgang mother ship, and even some Globe data at one point. I think this shows Puck’s influence in all the major playing groups in this series.

Well, I’ve come this far, and I must say that even this series is better than Argevollen right now, so let’s see what you can do Captain Earth, can you save this train wreck?

You’ve come this far so it would be a shame and a slight irritation after all the time invested to cut the series off halfway through. It does have some good things going for it.

    Poolside Planetary Gears:

Because genocidal alien teens need time off too.

Meh, not sold on the new OP. It’s just not grabbing me like the first one did.

If not for the ongoing treachery of Amara, Moco and Puck against Kube along with the tension of Daichi and Hana, this would’ve been an uneventful episode. At least this is beginning to show that like Teppei, Hana is ceasing to be a wallflower. And she’s proven to be very powerful. By Amara calling her “princess”, I guess this means she’s a Planetary Gear Leader.

I’m already past the halfway point so I’m going to see this to the end for the sake of closure. It’s not that bad of a series, anyway.
