No Game No Life – 04
Shiro wants your attention!
Yep it is my turn to solo post No Game No Life to change things up and thanks to OC for covering it last week since I was a bit busy, but anyway on with the review!

Sora for coolest bro!
That speech was awesome.
This season is filled with a lot of overpowered and just plain lucky males ranging from Rentaro of Black Bullet, every guy in the new JOJO, Tatsuya from Mahouka, Toru from Chaika and finally yes we might as well throw in Ash from Dragonar who seems to be blessed with tons of dumb luck; however with No Game No Life I feel that Sora comes out on top personally because he does not really have a random super power or weapon that gives him an edge unless you count his good looks which is more for comical factor and of course we have seen him struggle in these recent episodes to beat Kurami and yes I know that some people are going to simply say that wait a minute Fosh! Sora is a main character so obviously he is going to win! I would say that is a valid point, but I would think that most anime fans today probably enjoy watching a main character use his brain for a change instead of relying on some dumb plot device to conveniently let them win.

Now for the actual episode stuff! It was great to see Shiro and Sora team up to own Kurami even though it appeared that Sora was doing most of the work, but that is fine because each of them bring something different to the table whenever they team up! So now that both Sora and Shiro became king and queen where do we go from here? I guess the next step up from king and queen would be a god or will they even succeed? Honestly if I was writing this story I would set it up with Tet winning in the end just to prove that hey Shiro and Sora are not unbeatable or would that absolutely kill the story? I mean sure they would struggle, but in the end I feel that they would want to stay in that game world regardless if they win or lose because the world they come from is kinda lame! That and who could leave a girl like Steph behind anyway? I know I would not!

End thoughts
Well damn that was another fantastic episode of No Game No Life! We got to see Sora be a badass as he beat Kurami who I was not expecting to breakdown and cry like that, but she is voiced by Yuka Iguchi who tends to voice characters that like to get emotional. So what was your favorite part? I think the best part for me was probably watching Shiro and Sora debate on who should become the new king by playing hours and hours of poker?! Also all of those hilarious OBJECTION moments! I almost forgot Steph dressed as a maid which was also very nice.

Yeah, this season’s crowded with overpowered leads left and right. Now if only we could have them all face off against each other. Who’d win is anyone’s guess so placing bets will be advised against. I know most antagonists when defeated go through some frantic disbelief that they’ve lost after being so close to reaching their goal but Zell was so devastated that she was in pieces.
I had to roll my eyes at Sora’s speech to the public for the most part. Sure, it was to inspire them against all odds and cause a temporary reprieve from the other countries not making an advance but it was so cheesy there was trouble trying not to laugh. And by cheesy, layers of it.

Yeah, his speech was so freekin’ overstated. I kept waiting for it to stop repeating itself. But he wanted to drive it in.

A short, to the point and less extravagant method in addressing the people would’ve been much better. They’re swept by emotion for the moment but I don’t think anyone would take a liking referring to themselves as “weak”.
