Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou – 12 [END]

And they lived happily ever after.

At long last we find ourselves at the end of the long journey that is InuHasa. And as expected, the show departs in a fitting manner.

Hitched

Sexy time.

Being InuHasa, this episode is filled with utter nonsense. But this time it’s actually enjoyable. Maybe the rest of the show hurt so much it doesn’t hurt any longer, or maybe this episode really was a better one. But who cares. So basically Kirihime gets drunk and we delve into mero-mero rabu-rabu fantasy land. In it, our heroic pair get married to the jubilent cheers of all the other characters. Then things escalate to the honeymoon, the new couple’s love nest, and the first night together. I could regurgitate every little detail, but I think instead I’ll just go over what I thought to be the best part of the whole thing. In a stroke of genius, InuHasa actually pulls off a humorously clever role-reversal euphemism for the ‘ol sexy time. The hapless Kazuhito gets pinned down on the bed as Kirihime has her way with him. And then the whole thing comes to a climax as she lets loose a surge of burning passion all over Kazuhito’s body. Yeah. I absolutely died at that. It might just be the highlight of the entire show altogether.

Stuff

The colosseum runs red green with blood curry.

Sex and orgasm aside, there’s not much else worth noting about the episode.1 It’s got the sillies and it’s got the randoms, just like any other InuHasa episode. As I expected, there was no development on the final mystery author, Momiji, even after her reveal at long last in the penultimate episode. Yes, she gets another line here when she catches the bridal bouquet, but the whole sequence was so fantastical that it doesn’t count for much. Which is pretty sad considering literally only 50% of her lines are somewhat relevant. And then you remember she only ever had a grand total of two lines in the entirety of the show. And really, the other one wasn’t all too relevant anyway since she was just spouting some profound-sounding nonsense. But that’s InuHasa. What else could we expect from a show that has Tuna Eater wielding yandere little sisters and Zapper of Corruption wielding musical battle maids?

Lots of Extras

Show ▼

So to keep things short I will leave off on a positive note. Not something I usually do with this show, but hey, at least this last episode was somewhat entertaining. InuHasa definitely didn’t live up to my expectations, but honestly I’m not sure why I ever even expected anything other than what it delivered. True to its word, it gave us an insane amalgamation of the most random things ever. And it wasn’t shy about it. So for a show that never took itself seriously, InuHasa is actually not too bad after all. You just have to avoid taking it seriously yourself. If you can’t do that, let this be a word of warning to drop this show like a DJ drops the bass or a potato girl drops a hot potato. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the madness in all its glory.

5/10

1OK, so it’s also got a very dere Kirihime.

The show even claimed to be “Stupid nonsense” at the end. And that’s certainly what it was. But for whatever reason, it clicked pretty well with me. I wouldn’t rate it a top show by any means, but it was amusing to watch, had some fun work by Inoue Marina, and helped fill a relatively slow Monday night.

Kirihime was by far my favorite character, but I also liked Kazuhito and Sakura. Madoka was a bit too much most of the time she was on screen, unfortunately. And eventually I got the meta joke that they’d never actually have a showdown between Maxi and Kirihime.

I liked the earlier episodes of this show so inertia kept me watching until the end. But honestly I didn’t really care for the last few episodes although I did find some laughs in all of them. I have to say I’m glad it’s over.

An absurd end fitting for this show, at least the episode was better than the previous ones but my main reason for lasting this long was for the wonderfully sadistic Kirihime. If I had to pick a character I really didn’t like, that would be Hami. She’s way too pathetic for my tastes. Next time that editor should know better than to upset the natural order. Violent Kirihime is better than the dere version.

Well this was… interesting. I started/caught up around when episode 8 aired, and finished it just because I was more than halfway through. Like you said, it’s best if you don’t take it seriously and I think I enjoyed it more when I stopped holding expectations for it.

Judging by the screenshots I am glad I dropped this xD
