Are you ready for some farming adventures on Metanorn?!

spring13-jrowIndeed, this is different for us here on the Metanorn Mini-Talk. We usually love talking about robots, but this time Fosh & I along with our MetaFriends will be talking about this noitaminA series for the summer ’13 season that centers around agriculture, farming and eating stuff from the anuses of chickens. Hope you listen and enjoy our talks during this 11-episode series.
spring13-foshTime for some epic farming adventures yo! The only pre exposure I have for this series is fifteen chapters of the manga and I found to be very entertaining and comical, but I hope you enjoy the minitalk on this series!

The shock I had when the man cut the chicken’s head off with a smile on his face (and the chicken moving while headless) was as similar as when Mami had her head eaten in Madoka Magica… Like… What…? o_o

Anyways, the whole episode was just great. I’m really glad that I’ve given a chance to Gin no Saji. It’s great how they can make it funny while being able to make everything feel real (almost everything… because that girl flying in the air was just… surreal).

      Yay chicken ftw!

I am glad you gave it a chance because I wasn’t that sure about it when I saw the trailers and charts for the summer season? I was like farming anime? Interesting! Why not? So far it is very entertaining~

I’m really love this show. Yugo is such a chew toy.I will listen to the podcast tomorrow morning. right now the skylion needs to hit his nest.

Oh my god! This show is so amusing! I love it! I love all the antics in this episode. Hachiken is such a great straight man. My two favorite parts in this episode is the chichken shock reaction and when he finally eats the egg with the rice (That rice looks SOOOO DELCIIOCUS)

In all seriousness, I really like this first episode a lot. I think Hachiken is going to learn a lot of life lessons from this, and I really can’t wait to see what’s in store with this series.

The comedy was the best parts of the episode for me and MC-Kun is going to be a lot of fun to watch week after week! Silver Spoon is winning on the food animation <3

      Same here

this is such a good manga and so far im happy its animated 😀

  5. BlackBriar says:

The episode was rather dull for me and it annoyed me that MC was always lamenting over where the eggs came from which obviously shows he’s some kind of shut-in who doesn’t know anything about the outside world. I’m going to give this two more episodes before making a final decision.

    • skylion says:

I quite honestly did not expect you lower the boom that heavily.

    • Foshizzel says:

Awww yeah I could see how some would find the MC to be annoying and the egg stuff was funny but like Jrow and everyone else said he showed his dumb side LOL

If I were going to categorize, I’d say this is pretty squarely a seinen anime. I thought it seemed a little slow right at first, but found it pretty charming after about halfway into the first episode. I especially liked the information gaps that the different students have, with a lot more current knowledge in their chosen field, but having very definite limits to that knowledge, and not much interest in other stuff, like algebra. I also thought it was good that they had so much practical work, since so much of farming and animal husbandry is experience.

It seemed like a bit of misdirection with Tamako, because it seemed like they were trying to make us think she was some sort of bad guy, but I think that’s just her look. The flying around bit was a little eye-rolling, as well as the sudden windstorm that precipitated it (and then died down almost immediately), but I thought the show was a lot better than it started off as.

    • Foshizzel says:

True that Highway it was slow at the start of the episode till they introduced the other cast of characters.

      haha ya that windstorm xD

  7. Liza says:

I really liked this show much to my surprise. It reminded me a bit of Moyashimon.

Poor Hachiken. There will be many mishaps and adventures in his future. XD

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeaaah this is very close to Moyashimon minus the ability to see the mirco thingys~

      LOL Yeaaaaah xD
