Anyways, Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai aired a 7.5 recap episode after studio Feel announced episode 8 would be delayed for production reasons. A week without Lisara nudity is alright, since really… how many more situations and angles do we need to see from her? How about the camera dudes follow her mom around?

lvlln // Well, that was a massive bait and switch. After all the beach and hot springs talk in the last preview, we got only about 5 minutes of that before the show went right back to the Greek god based mythos. That beach volleyball bit could’ve been stretched to at least half an episode instead of just the cold open. Same goes for the hot springs antics, though I’m grateful they didn’t in that case. Guy walking in on naked and embarrassed girls hasn’t been funny since Love Hina, and Yuri is still terribly boring to watch. Godou isn’t helping either; he’s made to be a badass when fighting gods, but immediately jumping out of a boat just to get away from the main girl who is desperate for him is being aggressively spineless. His insistent celibacy is entering plot hole territory at this point.
So the fanservice just wasn’t there in terms of quality or quantity. Thankfully, what we got instead was solid action, much better than what I’ve come to expect from this show. Godou’s Campione powers were actually pretty fun to watch this time; I can’t deny that there’s something extremely cool about riding on a giant flying boar and throwing your enemy off. And Liliana was entertaining too, even if her overly-chaste personality was just as frustrating to watch as Godou’s. But when she’s jumping around or waving her sword, there’s usually pretty good animation and choreography. And even if that ending wasn’t particularly shocking, it was a good cliffhanger which leaves me looking forward to the next episode, especially since I expect Erica and company to wake up. I’ll repeat that I don’t know or really care about what’s going on story-wise or why. Maybe I need to get one of those history lessons… from Liliana, preferrably.

Fosh // So what is going on this week in Hagure Yuusha no Estetica? Well for starters things finally shifted back to the fighting which I wanted from the beginning and of course this means Akatsuki’s team is number one because they have not only one, but two main characters! Did anyone else find it funny that their outfits changed into more of a fantasy style? I guess that makes everything perfect for that knight dude from Miu’s world arrived just to crash their exam. Other than the cool fighting and Haruka rambling about how she can kick Akatsuki’s ass? Ha a side character wanting to beat the main character? GOOD LUCK! So what else happened? Oh right the shield that protects the students from physical damage was taken down which means all of non-important characters are going to get screwed. They did reveal something strange about Akatsuki’s other hidden power that allows him to nullify any magical attacks when he gets serious? *cough* overpowered *cough* what in the world are the creators thinking anyway? I suppose they want him to be a complete badass.

Karakuri // Christ, every member of Shougo’s harem is MORE than willing, but the guy simply refuses every single advance. He does’t even have the “I can’t because it might be my imouto” excuse anymore for more than half of them. I can understand his reasons for rejection this episode, but I guess I’m just surprised that Miyabi and Konoe haven’t tried anything since their arc. Anyways, once again, the imouto was fake. I AM EXTREMELY SHOCKED. Though I am surprised that Sagara actually knew something about the real little sister. The fact that this wasn’t entirely a dead end makes me a tiiiiiiiny bit more confident that they’ll actually tell us who the imouto actually is. …But at the same time, they’ve used the same tired plot device for the first 6 episodes. This show will have nothing but a guy who refuses sex at every possible opportunity if they take away the imouto. …That, and sunbeam/blackhole-chan.
At least the next episode, Shougo tried to move forward by actually DNA testing (and providing actual reasoning behind his actions). …Until yet another ‘imouto’ showed up. IS THERE NO END? Who’s the imouto this time? The heroine this arc seems to be Kunitachi, so it’s most likely her, but I’m sure we’ll be given some kind of convoluted reasoning behind her actions so that we can move into Tendo’s arc and another imouto who’s not really the imouto. In any case, Ikusu has quickly become my favourite character and I don’t think she’s even considered part of the real harem. Its a shame really.

Who Is Imouto?: I’ve given up, I’m just gonna watch this and figure everyone is his sister, and they’ll never find it out, and he’s actually going to just get teased by Konoe and Miyagi for the rest of the time. And maybe we can convince Shadow-kun to take a break. Seriously, it’s just wrong to make umpteen comments about how naughty Konoe’s panties are, and then have Shadow-kun taking all the, erm, spotlight.
Campione!: Enjoyable enough to watch, I liked that Godou’s fight actually included him *moving*. Nice change of pace from the card battle he had with Voban. The hot springs part was disappointing, and he’s definitely worse as a boyfriend / husband prospect than Shougo. Hell, if Shougo was around Erica, he’d be all over that, he knows SHE’s not his sister.
I think it’s pretty obvious we’ll get Liliana to kiss Godou, b-but it’s not like she l-l-likes him or anything… well… she doesn’t DISlike him…

Campione: Yeah, the story isn’t really this show’s strong point. Each volume is pretty much self-contained and the issues get resolved quickly. There’s isn’t a big story going on here. We’re actually now in volume 4 of the novels so talk about rush.
I watch it for the harem and the mythos(partially). Really, the show should be named “The Misadventures of Kusanagi Godou and his Haremettes.” >_>
Anyways, Lancer’s seiyuu Nobutoshi Canna brings life to the new enemy Perseus. With Athena and Doni in the fray, it should be somewhat cool as the fights have good animation and music with them.
Hagure: Too overpowered. I’d really like to see Akatsuki get beaten down by the blond knight, the Prez or even Akki. He’s too strong but all he does is molest and abuse women. And people in the forums actually praise him for that. I guess it’s better than the MCs of the other two shows in this post but still…
Imouto: And now they bring out the DNA test which all of us(well, the rest who still watch this) want them to do since day one. I suppose the reasoning is acceptable somewhat but with all that’s happening, I’m actually gonna flip my head if they really end up identifying the real imouto. And the shadow is kind of annoying to look at. But the big question is: why am I still enjoying watching this show? >_>

Campione! — 08: The story certainly isn’t its strong point. I understand in some animes, forcing yourself on someone is not love but cuffing them, hands and feet isn’t any better. I wonder what Erica would do to Goudo if they really were alone. Nice to see Goudo’s fight against Perseus didn’t include using his power of words. Regarding Athena. What were the odds the group found themselves in her territory? A stroke of bad luck? Since snakes and dragons are both reptiles, I think she absorbed the dragon to increase her own power.
Hagure Yuusha no Estetica — 08: Impressive! I’ve been waiting for the fights to break out again and this was best yet. Even though Akatsuki is overpowered, he’s an awesome badass. In my opinion, he’s officially one of Nobuhiko Okamoto’s best roles. As for Miu’s outfit, I give her second place. If you guys have played Final Fantasy XII and seen the character Fran, you’ll see my point. Seeing how this goes, my thoughts are that this series is going for 24 episodes.

Yup, dragons and snakes in the Campione world are said to be related. That’s why Perseus was able to take it down as Perseus is known to have taken down Medusa, a snake goddess, who is in turn the same as Athena right now. So yeah.
Mythology, it’s screwy.
Hagure is just 12 episodes. The official website already listed 6 BD volumes with 2 episodes each. Plus I’ve never seen ARMS do a 2-cour TV series before. But they do sequels as is the case with Queen’s Blade and IkkiTousen so we’ll probably get a sequel.

Hagure Yuusha no S.H.: They still managed to work it in, even if it was in a daydream. As far as the story goes, I’m actually liking that Akatsuki is a completely overpowered badass. We need a “Superman” style character, who is just on a completely different plane from everyone else, every once in a while. The show’s growing on me, or maybe I’m sinking to the level of its ludicrousity. And even if Miu is First Girl, I still think if there’s any pairing up to do in this series, it’s going to be Vice-Prez Tsukiumi with “Ousawa Akatsuki”. I mean, she spent the whole episode calling him by his whole name, don’t we all know that means she’s in love with him, Toshino Kyouko-style?
I liked Kuroneko’s Giant Mario Hammer, too.

What’s different here is that this “Superman” style character is actually tolerable on all level whereas when we see some like that in other animes, we can barely stomach them. Heh heh. If you’re sinking into ludicrousity, you are not alone. Like belatkuro said, it looks like there is a boat load of people ready to sink with the rest of us. I’m ready to go down with this ship so all I need is the violin.

Yeah, they’ve actually walked him away from a ledge it seemed he was going over in episode 2 or 3. Akatsuki actually feels like a force for good, and just the right amount of smug. He knows he can handle stuff, and the audience knows he can handle stuff, and we just need to get the other characters to realize he can handle stuff (*coff* Vice-Prez Haruka).
I’m not really a big fan of his sexual harassment, but he does it in such a good-natured way that it’s not creeper-style, it’s just Big Damn Hero style. I actually think there’s a lot of similarity between Akatsuki and Ryousuke Kaga (from Boku H). They both “treasure” the girls, they just express it in different ways, and they both in the end give off the vibe of completely ‘good’ guys.

Who Is Imouto? — 06-07: Whew! It took some time but I marathoned this series right from the beginning and boy, was I missing out. Now I’m up to date. I didn’t realize Shougo would be plunged into a similar state like Mayo Chiki’s Jirou because one of the characters is a trap (and an obvious one at that).
That scene of Ikusu lying naked on Shougo’s bed is more than enough to light a fuse. Damn that lucky bastard!! What was funny were the president of the newspaper club laughing with “ku ku ku” after Shougo decided to do an interview and those robotic cat tails that responded to the maid’s emotions.
The DNA testing obviously a good idea and should been used earlier but I guess they waited to build suspense. Another possible way to catch her would be to put a tracer on Shougo’s phone everytime she makes a call to him.
