Our main character, Haruyuki, is even more pitiful than most anime leads. He’s short, fat, and constantly bullied at school. His only escape from his mediocre life is through an online squash game on the school’s local network. Luckily, the squash program gets changed into something much, much more interesting. He encounters his polar opposite – a gorgeous, refined girl called “Snow Black” – and she introduces him to a piece of software that accesses the “Accel World.” Instead of spending his time playing squash, he now has the privilege of activating a program that allows him to become the “Burst Linker.” He goes from the school’s most useless piece of trash into a powerful knight tasked with protecting the Princess. |

This is based on a light novel series by Kawahara Reki but you know what? This is actually the continuation of the recently finished Guilty Crown. I’m not kidding! This is after OH MA SHOE has made a new world, where’s he’s carefree enough to lose his lean form. Lol, jokes aside the original material is quite revered and music is supposed to be good when the OP and ED are done by May’n and KOTOKO. From the summary at least, the story seems interesting and if the PVs are any indication, Sunrise hasn’t pulled any punches in animation. Character designs are by Yukiko Aikei, whose highlight has been Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere; too many characters for my taste but still a good job. The mech’s designs needs some growing on to but overall, if executed well, this can actually be one of the surprises of the season. We havea strong seiyuu cast with Yuuki Kaji (Guilty Crown, No.6, Highschool DxD), we have Sachika Misawa’s first major role (supporting roles in Shangri La, Yume no Pâtissière), Ai Toyosaki (K-On!, Beelzebub, Kaichou wa Maid-sama!), Shintarou Asanuma (Phi Brain, Tatami Galaxy, Seitokai Yakuindomo) and SuzuKen (Nichibros, Gitnama, Kara no Kyoukai) on the voice work. This will be a two-cour series so expect the second season with after a season’s break. Another interesting fact is that Reki is getting his another light novel animated in Summer ( Sword Art Online), both of these are getting game adaptations as well so expect lots of fandom squee. |

This series looks sort of random and strange to me and it almost has a combination of .hack//Sign mixed in with some boring school story *cough* Black Rock Shooter *cough* but hey! Things might actually become funny, but why did they have to design the main character as some short fat chibi dude? I wonder if the producers of Accel World been watching hours and hours of Sora no Otoshimono? Because Toko always changes into that form during a perverted moment. That said why not give this fat guy a chance!? Hopefully, the series isn’t some sappy romance tale of a nerdy guy getting the super hot chick. |

The story is set on Okinawa’s isolated island of Iwado, which has seen a growing movement advocating a return to an autonomous government. Ao Fukai, a 13-year-old boy with a missing father, lives on the island with an old doctor named Toshio and is about to enter middle school. Ao’s mother was taken away a decade ago by unknown individuals. Naru Arata, Ao’s childhood friend and the story’s heroine, lives with her father, older sister, and grandmother. She has a “Yuta” power awakened within her due to an incident when she was young. A mysterious entity called “Secret” suddenly appears and launches an attack on the Scub Coral lifeform on the island. Ao launches a certain military FP called “Nirvash” aboard a Japanese military transport in his fervent desire to protect the island.
HOORAY!! After hearing about a second season I got soooooo excited for more Eureka Seven headed my way, but what can we expect to find with this new story? I hope we can get another amazing story, because I got really caught up in watching Renton and Eureka eventually get together in the first season after all the trouble they went through together. So, can Ao and Naru recreate my love of Eureka Seven? I sure hope so! I did miss my OMG MECHAS ON FLYING SURF BOARDS…I know Sacred Seven could not fill my void of such things.
On the production side of things we have Kenichi Yoshida returning to handle the character designs along with Kyoda Tomoki to handle directing! Both of them worked on the original Eureka together. Voice acting we have Kanako Miyamoto (Kou in Tamayura: Hitotose), Yuutaro Motoshiro (Yango in Xamd: Lost memories), Ayaka Ohashi starring in her first voice acting role as Fleur Blan, Chiaki Omigawa (Mami in Mouretsu Pirates), and Kazuhiko Inoue (Shuuichirou in Guilty Crown). I can’t wait to personally hear Chiaki Omigawa’s voice, but all in all it looks like Eureka Seven Ao will be just fine.

Finally! I loved the original series, both for its length and the quality. I’m not too sure if they plan on making this sequel lengthy, but I’d love it if they did, long series seem to be slowly disappearing. Bones almost always delivers, so I’m not even worried about the production side of things and from what I’ve seen of the character designs AO will probably be just as quirky and fun as its predecessor.

The original of this was probably one of the few mecha shows where I actually enjoyed the mecha aspect, so this is exciting. …The characters were good too. |

Ozuma is actually Matsumoto Leiji’s unpublished work written in 1980s, which never saw the light of day till this season. This six-episode series will explore a future, when the elevated irradiation from the sun has destroyed earth’s environment and the birthrate of humans has drastically decreased. The government controls society with an army of cloned soldiers called “Ideal Children (IC)”. Our protagonist is Sam Coin, who’s a trader by profession and one day, he saves a beautiful woman named Maya, who was chased by Theseus, a corps of IC. He shelters her in his trade ship, but the destroyers of Theseus surround Sam and Maya. Their journey is what all Ozuma about. |

So many bros, so little time. How will I be balancing my schedule with so many promising series?! Oh well. This one deals with two brothers Mutta and Hibito (three years apart), who witness what appeared to be a UFO heading for the moon. They decide that night to become astronauts and travel out into space when they grow up. However, reality is harsh stuffs so forward some years to 2025, the younger brother is an astronaut bishie, while the older brother is an unemployed salary man just because he had a dramatic fight with his boss (I feel his pain, yo!). He’s almost blacklisted from all employers and this is the time he remembers his childhood promise to his brother to become an astronaut. Unaware of his own talent, the 32-year-old Mutta chases his dreams to get back in front of his younger brother and attempts for the astronaut candidate examinations, believing the words, “The older brother should always be ahead of the younger one…” And you know what else is exciting? The older brother is voiced by the moe oldman and a recent Seiyuu Award winner, Hiroaki Hirata (Kotetsu from Tiger & Bunny). Are you excited about this enough now? |

OH YES! Space-bros here we go! Get ready for your twitter hashtags for #Spacebros in the distant future…I wonder how they will pull off forty eight episodes?! Time jump where? I assume at the halfway point the main characters suddenly get older, but the best part has to be the tiny dog in that space suit?! Wow…just wow…that has me wanting to watch even more, but space is always a interesting anime world setting for me. hopefully they treat space a bit more realistic versus Mouretsu Pirates…not to say they got it wrong! I just hope we get a better feel for space is all… Voice work we have Hiroaki Hirata (Kotetsu from Tiger and Bunny), Kenn (Fritz from Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam), Masako Ikeda (Narrators in Nichijou and Katanagatari), and finally Miyuki Sawashiro (Kanbaru from Nisemonogatari). I am probably most excited to hear Hiroaki Hirata again! I really enjoyed listening to him voice Kotetsu. |

This one looks like it could be a surprise hit! It seems like it’ll be a more mature series based on the synopsis, but with a story as unique and interesting as that I doubt anyone will ignore it for that reason. I’ve never watched Doraemon before, but its director Ayumu Watanabe will be branching out to this new series as well as another Spring series, Nazo no Kanojo X. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei fans might be happy to know that its art director, Hiroshi Kato, will be working on Uchuu Kyodai as well. The rest of the staff (Makoto Uezu and Toshiyuki Watanabe) seem to have been more prominent in earlier years, which only means they have more experience to share. I’ve never been disappointed with A-1 Pictures before, so I’m eagerly awaiting this peculiar new show. (The 48+ episodes is a huge plus too!)

I am impossibly excited for the noitaminA block this season. Coming in next to the powerhouse Sakamichi no Apollon is Tsuritama. It seems more like a risk given how quirky and odd the concept is (aliens coming to fish and people marrying ducks), but that is precisely why it has me so entranced. Crazy anime concepts are a dime a dozen – but you can always trust Kenji Nakamura to make them work. I loved his work in Kuuchuu Buranko, and it ranks among my top 10 anime of all time. He’s also done work for Mononoke and C – proof that he never runs out of crazy ideas or new angles to look at things from. He’s the number one reason why I’m so hyped about Tsuritama. Maybe I’m still a little loopy and optimistic from Kuuchuu Buranko but WHATEVER! Aliens and fishing! Sci-fi shenanigans! I’m always willing to take a chance on the unusual – especially if people I love are involved in the making.
A-1 Pictures will be taking the helm at animating this loony bin of an anime. Good news? Of course it is, silly! These are the people who did Kannagi, Black Butler, and Birdy the Mighty Decode. They may have some derp every now and then (*cough* Fractale) but they bring their A game most of the time. Oh damn, I made a pun…someone kill me. But seriously, the art looks colourful, whimsical and full of life in the trailer. I don’t think we have to worry. Last but not least – a good seiyuu cast. The cherry on top! Rising seiyuu star Kouki Uchiyama (Shiki’s Natsuno and Hotarubi no Mori e’s Gin) accompanies…other people. No really, they’re all great seiyuu, but I’m gonna play favourites. It’s my summary and YOU CAN’T STOP MEEEE. Who cares about Tomokazu Sugita, am I right?

Here we have your typical antisocial high school boys, a ~mysterious~ foreigner and an alien who came to Earth to FISH, out of all possible things? Well this sounds ridiculous… ridiculously awesome. These four seemingly unrelated characters come together and BAM! The stage for a life-changing event has been set, and the the fate of the world is going to be changed FOREVER. *dramatic music plays in the background* Tsutaritama is surely one of the craziest-sounding anime this season, and I’m crazily excited for its release – I’ve grown to have an obsession with strange alien creatures because of some… previous experiences *cough*Arakawa Under the Bridge*cough*. Of course, they could just be dramatically exaggerating, but I’m rather positive that it’s gonna blow our minds. So sit tight, we’re gonna be having a fun ride with this one~

Weird, mysterious premise, quirky characters, AND fantastic character designs? While I may not be a beach/ocean/fishing person at all, this is definitely something that fits every section of my picky tastes, and just might soothe my current cravings for a quirky, totally-out-there anime. Plus, it’s A-1: my long time anime studio lover that I haven’t given attention to in almost two seasons! I have faith that they’ll animate this brilliantly~

This has Kūchū Buranko, vibes all over it. Yuuichi Takahashi (Macross Frontier, Iron Vendetta) has adapted the original character designs by Atsuya Uki (Cencoroll), while Toshiya Ono (Suite Precure, Eiga Suite Precure: Torimodose! Kokoro ga Tsunagu Kiseki no Melody) is in charge of the scripts. Also, a sign of a good show for noitaminA block this season with Sakamichi no Apollon? Bring it on! The voice cast has half the boys from Kimi to Boku along with Sugita perfection playing an Indian, HNNGGG, I’m more than IN. |

HELL YA ALIENS THAT FISH! This seems perfect for an anime theme anyone remember Bento? YES This plot reminds me why I love random stories that these anime producers come up with, but the biggest selling point has to be listening to my favorite male voice actor, Tomokazu Sugita aka Gintoki or Hidenori from Daily lives of High School Boys. This series also reminds me of Arakawa under the bridge and the animation looks top notch as well. |

If I remember correctly, anime that sounds crazy like this turned out to be fabulous and fun. Aww, Nino… The story sounds fun already, characters are intriguing. Surprise! There’s some actual plot and story here. Somehow… According to the released synopsis, a world war erupts in the beginning of the 21st century over interplanetary travel technology. As predicted by many scientists already, humans wreck the ecosystem which results in a mass exodus from Earth. This marks the year Star Calendar 00, when the human race migrates to a self-imposed exile in space. With time and limited resources, the “Super Galactic Alliance” institutes a “Entertainment Prohibition Law” to control “entertainment and music which corrupts people’s minds.” Thus, entertainment becomes strictly punished, causing the extinction of idols – in short no Inori like idol to keep the overall darkness at bay.
In such an era when entertainment is outlawed, an idol group starts underground guerilla concerts despite the danger. They are of course AKB0048, who become legendary idols. This causes the government to crack down on them and they take up arm (mechs) to fight the opposition. The story starts in Star Calendar 0048, when the 77th class of trainees are to be chosen as new stars of AKB0048.

AKB0048 first caught my attention when I learned it was sort of following in the footsteps of other idol shows like The iDOLM@STER. A bunch of girls singing trying to make it big, yadayada. Turns out they’re throwing mecha into the show now too according to the trailer, so I’m a bit worried about how this will turn out. You might remember that the whole idol/mecha thing was done before with Xenoglassia, and that didn’t turn out so well from what I’ve heard. I’m not about to count it out just for that though, mecha and music are two of my favorite genres after all, plus the story actually sounds more inspired than Xenoglassia’s. I’m not all that familiar with the director, Shoji Kawamori, but anaaga seems to have lots of praise for him so I’ll trust her on that! Satelight has been doing a great job with Mouretsu Pirates, and I was absolutely in love with Ikoku Meiro’s adaptation, so I don’t think we’ll be disappointed as far as the animation goes. (The unfinished clips I saw looked nice so far, the larger scale dance scenes seem to be done with CGI, which doesn’t look all that bad.) There seems to be lots of new VAs from the actual AKB0048 group, so maybe we’ll even get some new star seiyuus out of this!

Year 0048!? So this is what happened to earth before Earth Federation and Zeon fought with each other!? Before Char and Amuro met!? #lametimelinejoke.The story is not the only reason why I know I have to watch this. I’ve been a big fan of Satelight’s animation. When I saw Satelight’s name under the Animation Production for this title, it went right into my Must Watch list of this season. Those who like Aquarion franchise and Macross Frontier should add this in their list too since Shoji Kawamori is AKB0048’s Chief Director. He’s actually the original creator of this anime! Oh man, even Yoshimasa Hiraike is adding this anime in his career as a Director after titles such as Amagami SS, Kaleido Star, and Working!! If those names are still not convincing enough, how about AKB0048’s Executive Producer Toshimichi Ootsuki? He’s the Executive Producer of Azumanga Daioh, Evangelion 1.0, FLCL OVA, and Shaman King. C’mon! That name better perk some people’s interest. The VAs will be (obviously) AKB48 members, but familiar names such as Yui Horie and Mamiko Noto will have some minor roles in here. The story sounds silly, but with such people working on it, I believe this anime won’t disappoint me. It seems that Japan is expecting a lot from this anime too, judging from the amount of TV stations that will air this show (twelve of them).

I hardly listen to Jpop, I haven’t watched anything with mecha in years, and I’ve only heard one AKB048 song that just happened to play at Fanime; yet, I am ridiculously interested in this. The premise sounds, to me, so lulz-y I could cry, but hearing these top names in the staff credits has me desperately waiting for this premiere. I just… I don’t know what’s happening, but bring it on AKB0048! |

I haven’t seen any official trailers yet, but I wonder if this is another attempt at a copy of the Idolm@ster? I have no idea who these girls are! I guess if the fans of this singing group might be more excited about this than me. Who knows it might be really fun to watch! I know Idolm@ster was very very popular, then again it already had a massive fan base before the anime series thanks to several video games. However, Jpop fans are out there and they will surely back up this series. |

I was a huge skeptic of last year’s The iDOLM@STER, but I ended up falling in love with it, making it easily one of my top 3 shows of the year, so I was ready to look at this with an open mind. But from what I gather, this is going to be closer to iDOLM@STER Xenoglassia than The iDOLM@STER, and I have not heard good things about the former. I imagine this is, above all, service for AKB48 fans, and I’m not in that group. |

Last I heard about this, these were just some short flash animation releases. I guess, they sure leveld up to produce a complete anime series? The story centers around Nyaruko, a formless Cthulhu deity of chaos (Nyarlathotep) who can take on the shape of a seemingly ordinary silver-haired girl. She saved Mahiro Yasaka, who was chased by aliens one night, which begins this weird story. This is animated by Xebec with many moe voice actresses helming roles. You can just try this out if moe is your thing. |

Right off what do we all notice?! Long haired loli character of course, but I do remember this series more in OVA form, they were like what three minute shorts and with no real animation budget what so ever? Anyway this time they finally get a real series and produced by Xebec who recently worked on Rinne no Lagrange, and I always have known them for working on the To-love-Ru series. Voice list is a long one with Eri Kitamura (Karen in Nisemonogatari), Kana Asumi (Miya in Amagami SS+), Aya Hisakawa (Nanami in Ano Natsu), Bin Shimada (Gengai in Gintama’), Mariko Kouda (Mine in Un-Go), Miyu Matsuki (Hisui in Carnival Phantasm), Rie Kugumiya (Louise in Zero no Tsukiama F), Satomi Arai (Arai in Hanasaku Iroha), Takeshi Kusao (Sariel in Yondemasu yo, Azazel san), Wataru Hatano (Largan in Gundam AGE) and finally Yuka Otsubo (Kyoko in Yuru yuri). Yep, lots of returning voice actors; I am looking forward to hearing Yuka Otsubo and of course my favorite Rie Kugimiya. |

It’s not misplacement but the presence of both Romance, Comedy and even school life that makes the RomCom Slice genre. There were just three titles part of Outcasts this time so to save pages, we put those three part of other categories like RomCom, SciFi and Mystery.

I sort of agree with Spinarakk , I would classify Medaka Box as mainly action with comedy. It reminds me of Naruto – action/martial arts (with some comedy) shounen. I haven’t really seen any romance in the 100+ chapters I’ve been through. I would think it fits more under the “Action-packed Circuit” category.

Phi Brain Season 2: I’m pumped to for this to get started. I’m so sorry I thought of the first season as a joke and nearly dropped it and now, it’s become one of my favorites. Another thing, I’ve never seen a long running series getting a sequel so quickly. It’s baffling.
Kore wa Zombie desu ka: Of The Dead: The title still has me thinking of a parody of HoTD. Anyway, I’m currently being bombarded with nostalgia waiting for this and so looking forward to seeing Ayumu and the freeloading hot ladies again. But most of all, Yoko Hikasa being behind Seraphim’s voice again and verbally abusing Ayumu with variations of “Piece of Shit”. Seeing the trailer, Ayumu’s costume as a Maso Shoujo is different, more like the one he had when he faced the King of Night. Hahaha, Fosh, we finally get our wish of cross-dressing zombie, necromancer, magical girl and vampire ninja madness. It’s about time. And there’s an OVA?! I need to pace myself or I’ll die happy.
Jormungand: Looks like a decent action show and the animation’s top notch. I’ll give it a shot. The two characters on the poster look like albinos that remind me of Deadman Wonderland’s Shiro. The female looks like a powerfully confident lead and it’s the first time I’ve heard of a child soldier element in an anime. So it’s a 12 episode show because it’s going to take a break and resume in Fall. What’s with this sudden trend? They did it to Fate/Zero and Rinne no Lagrange.
Shining Hearts: It seems interesting and it has a role playing game feeling like the Final Fantasy or Golden Sun games.
Accel World: This might actually turn out to be fun. Remember the surprise success of Kore wa Zombie desu ka? This might pull off the same upset. A little cyber anime might be a change of pace. What has me a little discouraged is the main character but he’s voiced by Yuuki Kaji and the butterfly girl is insanely hot and seems wise so I’ll bear with it.
Eureka Seven AO: Another Eureka Seven? It’s a blast from the past. Thanks to Rinne no Lagrange and seeing a few episodes of the original series, I’m getting a little more into mecha. Bring it on.
Haiyore! Nyaruko-san : Interesting. I might watch it since Eri Kitamura is leading.
Fate/Zero 2: Finally!!! It’s time to see Caster bite the dust!! That wretch has lasted long enough!!! And Kyokai is blogging it again. I look forward to it, Kyo!!!
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: It has a nice eerie atmosphere around it with the town that is in ruins and probably deserted. I find myself drawn to this show. The girl who is supposedly a ghost seems more like a demon or Kogome from Inuyasha. Plus, maybe it’s just me but she looks like she has a lot of lust for the guy she’s with. I hope there’s a lot of horror in it and not just romance. I need something to fill the void that “Another” has left me with. More Eri Kitamura? Perfect!!
Hyouka: Another mystery anime? Count me in!!
Sankarea: Studio DEEN sure is getting into the zombie thing with Kore wa Zombie and this. It’s disturbing hearing the way the girl was brought back as a zombie. Since she’s undead and will probably still try to act human, I wonder if she’ll fight to resist consuming human flesh. Definitely on my list.
Nazo no Kanojo X: Girl carrying scissors around wherever she goes? Is she a distant relative of Senjougahara? This I gotta see. LOL. She’ll drive that guy up a wall.
Medaka Box: Sounds like Maji koi Shinasai but if Nisio is behind the story, it can’t be that bad. I’ll show leniency a give it a shot.
“Another” OVA: HELL YES!!!!

Phi Brain Season 2: First season really sets you up for something amazing and often I find myself laughing more than anything, but season two voice cast!? OH MY GOD That alone has me interested ahahaha and I hope something happens "plot" wise.
Kore wa Zombie desu ka: Of The Dead- You know what? I was thinking the same thing about the HoTD parody! Come on zombies and "of the dead" YES! I AM SO FREAKING READY! Oh how I have missed Kore wa zombie <3 <3 <3 and an OVA to go along with it.
Eureka Seven AO: HELL YES! I can not wait to see that second series just avoid that movie it wasn't very good for the first series...anyway YES to mecha!
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: I read like ten chapters of the manga and found it to be interesting, but I have no idea what to really expect going into a anime series so I will experience something new.
Sankarea: YES! YES AND YES! This might be the season of the zombie/ghost/supernatural stuff! That is another manga series I have kept up with so I can't wait to see it animated with music and voices.

Yeah, I’m pumped yet anxious. It’s like they just can’t come fast enough.
Phi Brain Season 2: The first season started out as a joke for me then suddenly became awesome because, c’mon, puzzles as a plot that would be holding a show together? I thought the same thing about Yu-Gi-Oh! and Ben-To and look how pleasantly wrong I was about those two. Since important elements like the armlet and the scrolls have been crushed, I can’t begin to imagine how thing are going to start out.
Kore wa Zombie desu ka: Of The Dead: The moment I heard we were getting more zombie fun, I was so out of it I swear I was beginning to foam at the mouth. What killed my patience was that it was announced since July last year and waited until now to start airing. I would have died of anticipation.
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: This looks like it’ll be an interesting ghost story though I’m not expecting it to surpass Shiki and Another in terms of horror because those two ruled without competition. It’s more like I’m hoping it’ll join its awesome ranks. Not to mention that it seems that the story will take place in an abandoned school. We need more creepy settings because it’s what helps sell the story.
Sankarea: Yes, I think you’re right about this season. First it was vampires, then mechs followed by all out yuri in the past winter season and now it looks like zombies/ghosts/supernatural stuff! are getting their turn. I wan’t to see how this will turn out. Should be a nice way to burn some time.

Damn! I can’t believe I left out Blood-C: The Last Dark. I’m so ashamed!! I deserve a slap to the back of my head. This makes one of the two vampire movies I’m waiting on: this and Kizumonogatari. Two that I must watch. Since we’re done with the slice of life element, there better lots of blood and gore (emphasis on the blood). I saw the latest trailer and I must say the sexy vampire heroine just got so much sexier that I might start to compare her with Underworld’s Selene. Not to mention that the visuals are lovely. I.G Production and CLAMP certainly got a bigger budget to do this one.
Not just Saya but an entire organization wants Fumito dead? Whoa, we knew the guy was underhanded scum but I didn’t think he’d be that bad. Then again, he had an entire town of people wiped out by giant bunnies for his amusement and to cover his trail. I still remember the graphic human blender. Ouch!!! I hope Saya finally gets her revenge.

Wow, Yamato. OK, yes, this is old school, but it is something I have fond childhood memories of. I watched this back in the Spring of 1979. When it was syndicated, localized, dubbed (oh how we made fun of that dub) and called “Star Blazers” . I watched the recent live action film, and was under-impressed, so I actually have high hopes for this series. The PV’s look great, and got my old blood good and fired up.

Accel World. I actually interested to see how they pull of the main character, Cartman-kun?

Jormungand – I LOVE strong female leads. They’re what keeps me from losing hope in the anime industry. Also the music – I love Taku Iwasaki’s work in Katanagatari (and a long time ago, on the Rurouni Kenshin OVA), plus OMG Nagi! Been a big fan of her ever since her collab with supercell. It looks like this is my biggest must-watch anime of the season.
Eureka Seven AO – YESSSS, this. The original series left a void in me, please let this one fill it. In any case, Ao looks like a descendant of Renton and Eureka (or could just be my shipping goggles) so that’s a plus for me. And it’s by BONES, dammit. This is going to be good. There are very few mecha anime that engage me, and Eureka Seven was one of them. I don’t think this is going to disappoint.
Hyouka – This seems interesting. I mean, I’m not much of a mystery fan – most anime labeled “mystery” don’t feel mysterious at all. But I love the art and most of the time you can’t go wrong with novel adaptations. Will try this.
Nazo no Kanojo X – AHAHAHA OMG. They finally decided to make an anime for this – what a pleasant surprise. It’s one of the very few ecchi series that doesn’t have a harem set-up so I actually liked this. Of course I dropped it a few volumes in but it was only because the art was jarring at times… but I can vouch for the story’s awesomeness. (Also, scissors-wielding was Mikoto’s schtick before it was Senjougahara’s. Heh.)
Kimi to Boku. 2 – I watched the first season and fell in love. That is all.
Not a bad crop, all in all. In any case, this is about the amount of anime my busy schedule can handle, so I’ll look forward to the aniblogs about the rest. Still disappointed that I still can’t see Durarara!! or Kuragehime Season 2 anywhere but I’ve come to expect that over the years… :/ Might check out the other series depending on how you guys will be blogging about them (and if I have the actual time, ahaha).

I am so excited for this Spring Season! Here are the shows that I’m planning to watch:
1. Eureka7 AO – I really hope that this one will be able to capture the magic of the original which I loved.
2. Hiiro no Kakera – I’m watching this because I’m curious to see what a shojou series is like. But, I don’t have much hope that this will be good.
3. Shining Hearts – Here’s another one I don’t have a lot of hope for. The premise looks completely generic and I’ve never been a fan of amnesia or emotionless girls. That said, I absolutely love fantasy stories, so I’m definitely going to give this one a try.
4. Jormungand – Grim action show with a strong female lead? Count me in! I’ve heard good things about the manga so I’m hoping that the anime will do just as well.
5. Ozuma – only six episodes, but from the first few episodes that have aired I’m already enjoying what it has to offer. Not fond of the leads currently, but the badass female captain is totally awesome.
6. Zetman – Another dark action show? Score! And it doesn’t look like this is going to be taking place in a highschool!

Guys and Gals on Metanorn, I’ve already watched Episode 1 of Uchuu Kyodai. It’s good. The animation style looks dated but the premise actually works! Made me think about my childhood when I was interested in Dinosaurs and becoming an Astronaut.

I fail to describe my enthusiasm for this besides Fate/Zero, which I’ve been craving since last year! Too good a season, I’m going to have a very hard time. ><

Just saw a pre-air of Natsuiro.
I forgot to mention that I was really looking forward to this, so I had some expectations. First, great pop music by sphere. Second, lovely character design. Third, a plot that didn’t try to hard, but would relax let the story unfold.
The OP is a bit lacking, none of the dynamism I expected based on past work (Hazy from Hanasaku being one of my all time best loved pieces), but the ED more than makes up for that.
Character design is well developed, but we see some doppleganging with the Index series (shared designer). I can comment on the quality of animation as this is a pre-air (boy, I got a bunch of fuzz).
We have a slice of life story. It doesn’t have to be ambitious. But it has to have it’s own unique hook. In Tamayura, we had the beginning of new friendships in a new place. Here, we are in a transition story. It looks like things are going to end before they begin. Then a wish comes true. Nice hook.

Natsumi (Kotobuki Minako) is made of some of the dignity Tsumugi from K-ON, but with a bit more fire.
Saki (Takagaki Ayahi) has some elements of Mitsuba (Eldest from Mitsudomoe) with a big old dash of Chris from Symphogear. Will we see some tsundere histrionics? Oh, I think we will.
Yuka (Tomatsu Haruka) has almost none of her Princess Serenity, some of the goofiness in her Anaru (Ano Hana), but mostly the enthusiasm of Nagi from Kannagi.
Rinko. It’s Yui from K-ON, not being Yui at all. She plays it quiet, but with a dash of her head in another world.
Oh, and I must correct something from above “I can’t comment on the animation yet, as this is pre-air”. Just cut, copy and paste that…

Good to know! I’ve really been looking forward to this and I’m glad to hear there’s great music too, that’s one of the aspects of the show I’m most looking forward to in the OP/ED, as well as a relaxing pace. From what you described the characters sound incredibly interesting. o.o
I’m tempted to watch the pre-air … but I feel like it’s probably better to wait for the better quality release. I’m torn! XD

Seeing that enjoyed the pre-air so much, with it’s very fuzzy quality, I would assume that the quality release would be much more enjoyable. I need the OP to grow on me a bit more.
Good to know you’ll be part of watching it, I’ve heard some negative comments about it already, most of it pretty silly and hater-ish.

Are you kidding? I live in SoCal as well, and it’s never balanced. Spring is the silliest season- summer is hot, winter is cold-ish, fall and spring are just random junk weather thrown together.
As for the anime, Jormungand doesn’t sound bad- the “strong female lead” is definitely pulling me in. I’m ready for a girl who can stand for herself. Not to mention the plot sounds pretty cool. The weapons aren’t really drawing me in, but if the plot is good enough I’ll ignore them.
Tsuritama sounds funny, but if there isn’t something promising in my eyes, I’ll probably drop it.
Hyouka sounds great! I don’t even know why! It’s sooo pretty, even in the trailer!
Shiro Kuma Café… I shall watch it, even if it is a little weird. Here I come, Penguin-san!!!! And look, Lelouch is the panda. It’s perfect.
Thermae Romae: well, looks like the mini-architect in me is ready for something like this! Can’t wait to see what this has in store….
And I guess that’s it for me. I get the feeling I’ll really end up only watching all of Hyouka and Shiro Kuma Café, since the other two are kind of only half-appealing to me, but oh well~ Lots of crazy things happen for me right around this time, so it’s probably best if I limit myself.

~Really? Maybe it depends on the city/town? Where I live it’s mostly 70 degrees with clear/semi-clouded skies in Spring with occasional rain fall. Fall is our silliest season as it randomly goes from ridiculously cold to ridiculously warm (I’m pretty sure we can agree summer is just always excruciatingly hot lol).
It seems the “strong female lead” thing is pulling everyone in for Jormungand, and Lelouch as the panda is just…just so WONDERFUL~.

Yeah, perhaps it does depend on the city/town. I probably live in the most mild region, except for that one time when we had hail, thunder, and sun all in 20 minutes. I just know that spring means random weather, every day, from rain to sun, within the week. It might just be this spring though. But my general memories are basically: “Can I wear jeans? Yes, but then I’ll get hot… No, I’ll be too cold. Dang it, what am I supposed to do….???” Fall is shorts and jeans later; winter is jeans; summer is shorts and sweat lol.
