Blood-C – 12 [END]

And what an ending it was.

There’s massive awkwardness right at the start of Blood C while all of the characters that told Saya the truth last episode are stunned that Fumito showed up. Fumito says that it’s okay if he shows up now because even if Saya dank coffee now, it wouldn’t make any difference. The twins immediately say that the whole ordeal was a mistake and Tokizane just goes on demanding money again. Kanako starts talking about how she’ll never be able to publish her research before time is up again but is stopped by Fumito, who asks her to release Saya. She does and Saya just kind of falls onto the floor.

Flashback time and back in the room, Fumito (who has actually been the narrator the entire time even though this wasn’t much of a surprise thanks to last episode’s preview) says that Saya eats things like herself. He talks about how since humanity couldn’t survive against such a powerful enemy, they made a deal called Shrovetide.

He explains that Shrovetide was a deal that the enemy could eat humans but only at a certain time and while people fear the Elder Bairns (I believe Fumito was the one who gave them this name), people want their power. Fumito says that he was asked to find a way to control them and says that ‘he’ and Saya are pieces of this plan because the Bairns fear her (because she feeds on them and not humans).

Placed in an out of the way area that easy to manage, Fumito says that people change, but something about them remains fundamentally the same. What he wants to know is that if someone’s memories are completely replaced, will the person’s fundamental core change as well? Saya is convinced that she won’t change though.

So in the present Saya asks Fumito if the whole thing was just a stage. Also, her voice has dropped an octave, proving that her memories have returned. So the real test here was to see if Saya would change who she was or not with Saya saying that she won’t and Fumito wanting her to. The twins cut in asking if they can leave now since it’s the finale and Fumito says that actors that can’t act anymore should leave the stage.

Cue the lion Bairn killing Tokizane in a censor worthy fashion. Fumito says that the talismans given to them after their first deaths were fake and so they won’t repel the Bairns anymore. The twins scream and run away and twin #1 pushes twin #2 out of the way (I’m not even going to bother trying to tell who’s who at this point). Twin #2 is killed by the Bairn and twin #1 is also killed shortly after. I give CLAMP points here for the rather creative deaths.

Fumito then turns to Kanako and says that he expected her betrayal, so her talisman was fake all along. Kanako screams and runs away, but before she can die, Saya actually saves her. Saya fights with the Bairn for a bit and finally ends up inside the Bairn while saving Kanako.

So what have her glowing red eyes been doing this entire time? FINDING THE ENEMY’S WEAK POINT. Saya stabs the Bairn in the spot that glows blue and it flails about.  Yuko mentions that the weapon Saya uses doesn’t seem to matter and Fumito responds that the whole shrine maiden sacred sword thing was all BS. The Bairn dies and Kanako runs off screaming when Saya comes back.

Oh yeah, there are panty shots this episode too

She runs into Tadayoshi, who then proceeds to bite her neck off. Fumito says that he’s back to his normal self since he drank too much of Saya’s blood that morning (also, this apparently erased his pupils in the process). It turns out that Tadayoshi is actually a half Bairn with a human parent, which is why he looks like a human being. Also, that’s the reason Saya accepted his orders without asking questions because Bairns can be controlled with her blood. With her blood, Fumito has been manipulating where and when the Bairns show up the entire time.

Tadayoshi picks up Saya’s sword and starts attacking her with it. Saya asks why Fumito let all of those other people die and Fumito replies that she shouldn’t care about humans because she can’t eat them. This is because she’s under another compulsion apparently, but Fumito wasn’t the one who set that up. He only used it to create her fake memories, which is why Saya thought she had to protect them. Since Saya is unable to kill humans, her prize if she won was for Fumito to somehow enable her to. Before he can explain what his prize would be if he won, Saya lands a blow to Tadayoshi after regaining her sword and so Fumito tells Tadayoshi to change into his Bairn form.

Commence epic sword battle as Tadayoshi picks up another sword laying around the shrine. With Tadayoshi like that, Saya actually starts losing the battle. Finally, she gets cornered and tells him that he’s only being controlled by her blood and to go back to normal. Tadayoshi almost regains his senses, but Fumito stops him. He goes to kill Saya, but then the sword-light thing appears in Saya’s head again and she grabs it, causing her arm to glow. Suddenly, Saya moves extremely fast and cuts off both of Tadayoshi’s arms before he can even react.

Fumito walks away and suddenly Tadayoshi is back in his human form again. He tells Saya that she was the first person he had ever met that was like him and that the fact that he enjoyed being with her wasn’t a lie. Saya actually starts crying while calling him Father and Tadayoshi dies.

*sob*

Saya runs after Fumito, but he breaks a mirror and a rabbit Bairn appears, Saya cuts it down quickly and continues to pursue Fumito, but a soldier with a gun starts shooting at her. Saya gets injured and Itsuki saves Saya, only to be shot multiple times. Before he dies, Itsuki says that at first it was just an act, but his feelings for Saya were real. He even says that while it wasn’t the real Saya, he’s sure that who she was without her memories is a part of her somewhere deep down.

*sob* again

The rabbit Bairn gets up and multiplies (lol, clever). Suddenly, there’s a ton of Bairns and the humans all start dying extremely gruesome deaths. All of them scream about this not being in the contract (so the whole town was in on this), but Fumito doesn’t care and even runs over a few of them.

This is terrible, but I  imagine the one on the right going “OM NOM NOM”

Inside the car, he and Yuka sit stoically and we learn that Yuka’s wish was to be a politician. She’s also the only main cast survivor and apparently she’s way older than schoolgirl age. Saya kills the main Bairn at this point, causing the rest to disappear. They make it to a helicopter with Saya in pursuit. Saya goes to attack them with her newly discovered glowing arm attack, but before she can reach Fumito, he shoots her in the face.

She should have seen this coming (I’m sorry, couldn’t resist)

As Saya falls into the river, he says that the secret ingredient in the guimauve were Bairn parts, which apparently taste like human organs. His parting words are that if she’s ever able to kill humans, she’ll be able to taste the real thing someday.

Saya sits on the riverbank for an extremely long amount of time before she gets up and starts ripping up her uniform. Watainu makes one last appearance and says that before all of this giant troll started, Saya came to his shop and that her wish was to remain as herself (even before Fumito started screwing with her head). He also says that it’s time for Saya to find a new wish. Saya finally gets up and is now sporting a CLAMPtastic eye patch made from her skirt. Blood C ends with Saya ditching her sword and running towards the distance.

Ending Thoughts:

ITSUKI NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I cried. No joke.  Who knew they could pull off such a sad death in such a short time? His reason for being there was never explained, but it’s probably for the best anyways. In the end, he really did care about Saya and that’s what matters. I was hoping they’d play more on the Kanako’s side vs. Fumito’s side, but watching them die brutal deaths is good too. But damn, if I didn’t like Fumito before, I definitely love him now. We all knew he was manipulating things from behind the scenes, but who knew that he was such an ass? Lol, he clearly didn’t care about all of the people dying (well to be fair, neither did Yuka) and even had his men kill a few more. And he totally just shot Saya in the face (though we all know that that’s just CLAMP filling in their eye patch fetish again) while smiling like he normally does. Love it.

Lololol that ending though. CLAMP does it again. It came out of nowhere. All I can say is THANK GOD there’s a movie coming out in 2012 (next year can’t come fast enough now) or I would be raging REALLY HARD right now at that rather incomplete ending.  At least we know what the movie will vaguely be about now. And hopefully it will explain who or what made Saya unable to eat humans too (though it might have been Saya herself as the price for her request). I can imagine some people are pissed off now though since the ending was obviously made to coerce people into watching the movie.

So a slow start ends in a HOLY CRAP WHAT JUST HAPPENED manner. I can’t say that I’m pleased that they decided to shove everything into the last 2 episodes, but the ending was worth it. They really did give hints of what was happening throughout the whole thing and watching it now, it was pretty obvious that something was NOT RIGHT about the whole thing. It feels pretty complete overall minus the ending, but it’s more like a “end of chapter one” because there’s definitely more to come and there’s no way to ever revert back to how things were in the first couple episodes. Besides, who would have been satisfied if Fumito just died and Saya moved on with her life after all of that?  With a movie, there’s at least an hour for things to work themselves out. Assuming that the movie is even a continuation of this Blood-C storyline. They have pretty much complete freedom for adding in new characters and plot thanks to this this rather open ended finale. Though I would assume that it would be about Saya’s revenge.

Overall, Blood-C was excellent. Things just went from falling apart to completely shattered. As a big fan of tragedy (and blood), having Fumito turn into a complete asshole and watching pretty much everyone die was fun. CLAMP gets full points for the deaths in this episode. Tadayoshi and Itsuki’s deaths were definitely moving and even I had to cringe when twin # whatever got torn apart and the rabbit Bairn things basically made a human smoothie.

Okay, so I’m glad that they resolved pretty much everything in the end. The entire thing was extremely well planned. I guess the Bairns WERE evil human eating monsters after all (…or were they? We never did get an explanation for Saya defending them that one time). The whole Shrovetide thing makes sense too if you think about sustainability. They would run out of food pretty quick if they ate humans all the time. Though I don’t know why they couldn’t just mass produce the talismans that the main cast had. I’m also thankful for the explanation about Saya’s eyes finding the weak point. Now Saya kicking ass whenever her eyes glow in battle makes SO MUCH SENSE NOW.

So the unresolved issues:

-Who is Fumito’s employer?

-What is Fumito’s ‘prize’?

-Why did he want to see if Saya would change or not?

-Just how exactly did Fumito manage to change her memories like that? (Though this one isn’t that important since this is CLAMP world and magic happens just beacause)

-What was Saya’s price for her wish granted?

-Who made it so that Saya can’t eat humans?

-What exactly is Saya?

-How the hell do those talisman things work?

-Why did Fumito bother changing Saya’s outfit/give her glasses/ convince her that she’s a shrine maiden? (Though this is probably just a fetish)

-How the hell did a Bairn and a human manage to have sex and make a kid?

-Does CLAMP even know anything about genetics?

-Just how scarring will the uncensored version of this be?

Hopefully most (if not all) of these are resolved in the movie. If not, oh well. This was actually a really good series (thus far) and had a pretty good mystery going on that completely drew people (well me at least) into it and ended in a completely tragic bloody massacre. Now everything is riding on the movie. I hope they pull it off. I really do.

Am I a terrible person for laughing hysterically at all the different ways the evil-bunnies killed all those people?

The blender one was my favorite <3

    • Karakuri says:

Nah, after Itsuki died, I paused the video, teared up for a bit and then watched the rest with a giant maniacal grin on my face.

    • Kyokai says:

I’m with you on the blender. I laughed my ass off throughout this episode, especially when the bishie was eaten. Served him right to always talk about money.

Now to get closure of this horrendous plot, Saya should find Fumito and kill him oh so terribly in that movie!

      • Eri says:

I’ll agree with both of you. I just keep facepalming and ROFLing at the way Blood-C kills people!

Tokizane was too handsome to die /sadface

And yes, I want a really gruesome and lolastic death for Fumito!!!

        • BlackBriar says:

Whew!! I see there’s a large angry mob gathering waiting to see Saya chop Fumito’s backstabbing head off. Too bad we have to wait until the movie comes along next year.

Elder Bairn bunny blenders?! I’ll never look at bunnies or blenders the same way again.

Has anyone noticed Saya’s eyes have been blood red this entire episode? Anime: the only place for freakish human half breeds to exist. Tadayoshi as a human and Bairn’s child? That’s too disturbing to think about.

        • fathomlessblue says:

Well it is the Shrovetide afterall! That’s certainly one way to make human-pancake mix! Bend it up!

Also, the second twin’s death. Urgh!

  2. Ceyrai says:

You know what would make this ending even more perfect? If Saya lost those ridiculous pigtails. But yes, I loved this last episode and I can’t wait till the movie comes out. How they’ll be able to resolve everything’s that happened here in less than two hours I don’t know, but I’m looking forward to it.

And about Tadayoshi – the first thing that was on my mind when it after his reveal was, “How did YOU happen?” The more I think about it the grosser I feel. Yugh.

    • Karakuri says:

Ahahaha in one of those ridiculously dramatic hair cutting scenes. I can imagine that. I have no idea how they’ll do it in 2 hours. Who knows, maybe the movie will even lead into a season 2 of the anime. CLAMP loves long and drawn out stuff and there’s so many unanswered questions.

SAME HERE. Sure it makes for an interesting story, but just what kind of messed up relationship would lead to THAT?

      • BlackBriar says:

About Tadayoshi, there’s a similarity to people like that can exist in Ao no Exorcist. Satan didn’t have a body of his own but he was able to get Yuri pregnant with his children. What kind of relationship is that?

        • Karakuri says:

I just assume that Satan has magical sperm or something. A Bairn x human relationship is pretty much bestiality.

…..Yeah, I’m just going to stop thinking about this now.

          • Ceyrai says:

Same assumption here. Ao no Exorcist’s Satan probably has blue flame sperm that doesn’t need to go through the vajayjay. Bairns are a whole lot more monstrous and I’ll bet their sperms are… yeah, I’ll stop right there.

  3. BlackBriar says:

What an awesome end to this series!! Whoa!! Inner Saya unleashed!! She has a completely different and aggresive personality since she awakened. I wonder if she really wants to eat humans, but seeing her true self, it looks like she could be a real man eater.

Oh, man. Everyone was wasted in such gruesome ways, each worse than the last. The twins had it the worst. Repeatedly being slammed on the ground before being eaten? Well, you should tenderize the “Fresh Meat” before eating after all. And being split in two by the legs? Oooh, I felt that one. But Kanako got away from the Bairn only to be killed by an old fashioned vampire bite on the neck. It would’ve been a lot better without those damn censors.

The fight between Saya and Tadayoshi was utterly ruthless. I loved every second of it and she’s just as good with her hands and feet as she is with her sword, and with such blinding speed.

At least Itsuki had a heart unlike those money crazed freaks. Too bad he died for it. Just how rich is Fumito that the entire town was expecting a reward? They were all blabbering about money and contracts while being massacred, and by rabbit Bairns, no less. A slightly awkward way of being killed, wouldn’t you agree?

    • Karakuri says:

Yeah, the new Saya is a complete 360 from her old personality. I like it. I’m wondering if she really wants to eat them too…. she never actually said it herself, she just wanted to kill them. Though thinking about this now, if she can’t kill humans why did she go after Fumito? Isn’t he a human as well?

Yeah holy crap the deaths in this episode. Lolol yeah the twins. Though I like the blurred censors they used as opposed to the streaks of light. Now if only they could have done that in earlier episodes. I think the deaths here were WAY more gruesome than what they had going on before.

The Saya Tadayoshi fight was probably the best animation in the entire series. Maybe they were saving all of the animation budget for that? It must have cost a hell of a lot of money to produce.

Yeah, Itsuki… I think I’ve said everything I want to say about him already. About Fumito though, we don’t even know who exactly he is. Or if Fumito is even his real name. Though from his actions here, I don’t think he was intending to keep any of the contracts (aside from the main cast) in the first place.

      • BlackBriar says:

She probably went after Fumito for his lies, his experiments and for playing her for a complete fool. Saya hated him so much she was itching to kill him when she was at the table while being restrained. He probably would’ve been the first human she would feed on.

After watching this whole thing, I can imagine going over all of it while playing the songs “Time of Dying” or “Someone Who Cares” by Three Days Grace. They absolutely fit Saya’s story.

Another thing I like about this show is that no one is off limits on the killing list. Everyone is fair game without exceptions. Another welcomed anime with a village mass murdering rate. Their population must be really low. It rivals Elfen Lied’s blood and gore.

What kind of bullets does Fumito have in his gun? He took off nearly half of Saya’s head. Because she was so tired, it took a while for her to heal and she was sleeping in the water until she made it to shore. All that was missing was her eye. But I have to admit, she’s hot with an eye patch, with or without glasses. Now she’s out for revenge. Time to hunt down her prey.

  4. umi_no_mizu says:

the censored version was scarring enough D= uncensored would probably result in my having animated nightmares >._>

    • Kitty says:

I agree with you on this…. and I watched all of Higurashi and Umineko…. censored was enough thank you XD

      • Karakuri says:

This kicks Higarashi and Umineko’s ass if we’re comparing gruesome deaths.

I kind of want to see the uncensored version just to see what the heck they were censoring in the earlier episodes. Plus maybe I’ll scar some friends with this episode.

        • Kitty says:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA~~~~ I approve of the scaring of the friends. Since they WILL NOT see the last episode coming!

          • BlackBriar says:

About the gruesome deaths, these shows have the Hellsing and Deadman Wonderland deaths as rivals.

            • Kitty says:

Deadman Wonderland was tame compared to this episode….. personal opinion. I usually have a good stomach but that whole bunny scene was just…..

            • Karakuri says:

Hellsing wasn’t that bad, was it? Then again, I have yet to see the OVAs

  5. Metalsnakezero says:

Yeah, I kinda like this ending which is leading up to a movie. I just wish that most of the show was better paced and wasn’t so sloppy.

    • Karakuri says:

I kind of have to agree with you about the pacing. They just shoved everything into the last two episodes and didn’t even give us time to blink due to all of the fast paced action. …Though that might have been their intention. Still could have been better planned.

  6. Foshizzel says:

Tadayoshi’s full demon form OH MA GOD So awesome I was like WTF it’s Lion-O from the thundercats! But then suddenly that fight between Saya was pure win! Some impressive fight animation, I am curious to see who did all of that for them. Because I know on certain episodes they bring in other artists to beef things up.

But the gore this time around?! Had me and my brother going OMG WHHAAATT?! With a few awesome thrown in, but those freaking creepy ass bunnies? Aahahaha those things were so creepy..and DAT BLENDER…

So the twins so got their deaths coming, the whole time during their deaths I was cheering a bit because they were so damn evil near the end…Yes pantsu shots all over the place.

Saya! Such a bad ass I really like the “REAL” Saya over “MOE” Saya any day! And we all know eye patches bump up your cool factor in any anime, looking at you Asuka for Evangelion 3.33! <3 Now to wait a year for the BloodC movie T_____T

    • Karakuri says:

….PFFT AHAHA THUNDERCATS. I’m just going to assume that they spent all of their animation budget during that fight sequence and went full out. I’m sure the names of whoever they brought in will appear on the internet eventually.

Lol a lot of people I know were cringing at that blender. Including myself.

The twins had it coming! Though yeah, I’ll miss their evilness. And those panty shots. It wasn’t as er, ‘detailed’ as some of the ecchi show panty shots, but it’s a hell of a lot more realistic than near the beginning of the anime where Saya was hanging upside down in a fight sequence and her skirt defied gravity by stayed perfectly straight. I was going “How much starch does that girl use?”. But yeah, Saya’s pantsu have not shown once during the entire series. Thought I’d point that out.

NO DON’T REMIND ME THAT I HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR. Saya’s turned into such a badass!

      • BlackBriar says:

It goes without saying that the twins got what they deserved. they were way better at being evil than being annoying.

Who wouldn’t cringe at that blender? That’s gonna burn into peoples’ minds for a while. But there’s also that garbage bag hand the people were in before they were shredded by the blender. That’s just crazy.

I can’t believe we have to wait all the way to June 2nd. That picture of Saya with blood on her face has me anxious to see it. But she still has those twin tails. She must love that hairstyle.

        • Karakuri says:

Fumito must have loved that hair too. It’s the only thing he kept when he creepily changed her outfit.

  7. Junko says:

Asides from the stupid rabbits, this was kinda good. Overall Blood-C has been lacking in presentation for me. The small things, like pacing, pauses, length of speeches, how often they re-said something, how long thew drew out some pointless things, ect really put me off this show as a whole.

But for good things, I’m glad at least ONE character wasn’t an asshole, and that whats-her-face got away and Saya DIDN’T win. But most importantly HOLY SHIT HER FIGHT WITH HER DAD. Seriously CLAMP, directors, ect, if you can pull off such a nice fight, clean, short, but damn classy, do it more often, please.

    • Karakuri says:

Those kinds of things bothered me too at first, but they explained most of it away. For example, my major problem at the beginning was all of the pointless running and pausing that Saya did the first couple episodes. However, they showed this episode that there were actually cameras set up EXACTLY where Saya paused, so she was probably was vaguely noticing them at that time. I imagine that the repeated lines were because of the main cast having to follow a ‘script’ written by Fumito. So yeah, long story short the stuff that put you off is what made me enjoy this ending so much. If that makes sense. Though I think it’s good for people to have multiple views on things.

Yes, I’m glad Itsuki wasn’t a complete asshole either. And a cliched ending with Saya winning completely would have been way worse than this. The fight sequence was really well done too. I was impressed.

      • Junko says:

Fair nuff. I loved Blood+ way too much, so I’ll being thinking all this with a giant bias going on anyway XD

  8. Kitty says:

Like all CLAMP endings it does a 360 and becomes a train wreck, you think I would learn by now….

Man the last episode really made up for the no blood in episode 11 didn’t it. Did anyone ever tell those monsters not to play with their food!!!

Points to the fight scene between Saya and her father, that was awesome!! In fact the last ep was one of the best out there.

    It was nice after some grueling episode from the series to get a kick ass ending, even if it didn’t answer anything -_-;

Hey has anyone out there watched the other Blood+ series? Was their any references that might explain the wacked out plot line?

    • Karakuri says:

LOL even I had to go “Oh, CLAMP. Not again.” At that ending at first. But then after I thought about it for a while, I came to like it a lot.

I assume answers will come in the movie. Though adding in all the gore and blood was probably a smart move by CLAMP to make people less mad about putting off having a complete conclusion.

Unfortunately, I don’t think this has anything to do with Blood+ or Blood: The Last Vampire. They had chiropterans instead of elder bairns for one. Also, absolutely none of the characters are the same. So yeah, I don’t think theres anything helpful we can draw from the rest of the franchise other than it’s about vampires.

  9. Reaper says:

I have to say, this episode was both awesome and probably the next most awkward after the old Evangelion series, and THAT was awkward enough for the whole world to debate about it even decades after it had finished. Had to say though, some of the censoring bits were…ill-timed? Gruesome bloodied scenes are censored, but not the panty shots? What has our world come to…XD
But yes, Iincho didn’t deserve that death, I felt he might have lived for the movie for us to see the guilt he would have so he could help Saya but…I guess he got redshirted too, though in a nicer way than the rest of the main cast. As for Ruuka wanting to be the Governor of Tokyo…just how old is she? Oh well, at least we had an awesome swordfight, though the 2Dness did detract it a little…now, at least we have the movie to look forward to; no crappy exposition hopefully and just Saya destroying things with Fukuyama Kyubei in pirate mode (so many pirates now…Saya, Asuka…) 🙂

    • Karakuri says:

I’ve never seen Evangelion, but even I know about that ending lol. Ahaha what can I say? Fanservice sells.

I think Itsuki and Tadayoshi’s deaths were what really made the entire thing a tragedy. Having the people who were somewhat close to her die (or at least Tadayoshi) seems to be what sparked her desire for revenge in the first place. (Plus the whole Fumito being an ass thing). Not a clue how old she is. Probably early to late twenties if she can still kind of pass for a schoolgirl.

Lololol pirate mode. As long as she doesn’t trade one of her hands for a hook, I’m okay with this.

  10. amado says:

best way to enjoy this it to not take the whole thing seriously, like comedy except that other kind of comedy.
another way to see this show is a magnificent trainwreck for those who think the series is still bad.
if bloodc has anything on blood+, its that its bloodier.

and yeah, this one really did a pretty good one with the drama on tadayoshi and isuki. makes me believe that they made the previous eps bad intentionally to catch us off guard rather than them changing their plot halfway when it wasnt interesting.

all in all, bloodc isnt quite as bad as it is said to be. id recommend it for someone who’s into black comedy and to guys who want pure mindless blood and gore.

    • Karakuri says:

Lol, I stand by the statement I made in the first episode: When they say blood in the title, they mean it.

I enjoyed this a lot, but yeah I can see why people dislike it so much. The entire first half of the plot isn’t told in a conventional way and if you have no idea what to look for, the whole thing is like a joke.

I think they did that to catch us off guard too. But even if it wasn’t intentional, it definitely made the ending pretty solid. It ended in an explosive finale as opposed to other anime where the final episode could have been thrown in anywhere and it wouldn’t have mattered.

Agreed. I came into this only expecting mindless gore and so the first episodes were a letdown (the ending completely made up for it though). As a whole though, I think their plot was pretty solid. They just could have done better with how they told it.

  11. amado says:

    my comment got eaten…

  12. edru says:

theres actually a serious plot hole they missed…
what about that chicken elder bairn that ate those green ones? isnt it supposed to be saya only who could eat elder bairns?

    • Karakuri says:

I had forgotten all about that. …Hmmm…….. yeah I’ve got nothing for that.

      Good catch.

      • BlackBriar says:

Maybe they were lesser Elder Bairns that the full breed ones were able to eat. Like big fish eating the little ones.

        • Karakuri says:

They did say something like that during that episode too. Hopefully they cover it in the movie.

Wow what an ending! Seriously, all the overly-nice characters in anime’s at the begnning always end up being an ass at the end XD. Did anyone else wanted to say FATALITY at some of the deaths in this episode? I know I did, NENE/NONO’S DEATHS *ahem* xD

Anyway, now that Saya is back to her “ORIGINAL” form now, I’m 10x times more interested to hear about her side of the story. It seems as though waitng for that 2012 movie is going to take forever *_*. But I think my favorite part of this whole episode was Saya and Tadayoshi’s fight. There skills are so brutal, with an awesome animation team to back it up too. But I really do feel a bit bad for Saya having to kill him off like that. Damn you Fumito! XD

Now this series overall, hmmm well I have to say that I really HATED the first episode (Seriously >.>), and I only had low expectations from there. But Blood-C had grabbed my attention again with all the myteries surronding the field. Even though with all that jazz, I thought they took everything kind of slow, but with enough of a cliffhanger to make you want to see next episode. So kudos for that. I would have to say Blood-C did do a good job overall, cause I do think a bunch a cool bloody death scenes makes a series a lot cooler (Personal preference XD). However, none of those death scenes can compare to what just happened the last 2 episodes. Sure I would have liked it a bit more if they had introduced this earlier, but I still like the ending none the less.

Blood-C was not as bad as I expected it to be (And coming from CLAMP, I had seriously low expectations lol), but it did pull out through the end for me, (even with the pacing of a turtle -_-) and I think its at least worth watching through. Though , maybe skip the first 2 episodes.

But assholes make the world so much more entertaining XD.

Yes, the ‘new’ and improved Saya. I really want to know what she was doing before she was stuck in this entire production as well. I’m going to be completely honest here and say that my favourite part was the giant massacre up to the ending.

Lolol I think the lower your expectations are, the more you like something when it turns out to be awesome. The mysteries grabbed my attention too (though for me it was right from the start), but I agree that the pacing wasn’t ideal. …Well we kind of got the same stuff that the last episode did in small bursts throughout the series. Just nothing to this extreme level.

…Thinking about it, it’s ironic. We’ve been watching Saya this entire time and we still hardly know anything about her.

I really enjoyed this show. I seem to be in the minority for liking the way they started with the peaceful village, and all. I actually enjoyed wondering what the hell was going on.

As to the ending, I really enjoyed that fight between Saya and Tadayoshi. Too often these things turn into screams and still shots with speed lines everywhere. Instead this actually looked like two people fighting (although faster than humanly possible). It was also cool that the light thing from the opening moments of the series was resolved at that point. I don’t quite understand why her arm glowed, but it was pretty cool.

I’m interested in seeing the “new” Saya in the upcoming movie. Revenge does seem like a ready-made plot for it, but now that she is free, she can do anything she pleases. I will miss the “old” Saya, though. I thought she was cute in that Miko outfit.

Hmmm… I’m on the fence about the starting(though leaning more towards liking it). I do think that it was completely necessary. I enjoyed wondering as well. Theory making (and then being proven wrong making me adjust my point of view on things) was incredibly entertaining.

Yes, that fight sequence. That’s a good thing to point out actually. They really did look like they were fighting and there was no recycled animation whatsoever. Yeah, I don’t know about the glowing arm either. Tadayoshi seemed to know about it since he told her to follow that light or whatever at the beginning(or maybe he was just BSing her), but he can’t tell her about it now.

We hardly know anything about Saya, so I’m hoping the movie focuses on what she is a bit more. Yeah, agreed. Saya has complete freedom now to do anything because this entire ‘chapter’ is completed. Ahaha I wonder if she’ll ditch the glasses too…

Next year can’t come soon enough… well the DVD/Blu Ray can’t >_< Also, anyone notice the new outfit in the little clip of the movie preview?

Censored version has scarred me enough and I'm pretty use to gore (I study Forensic Science xD) so I can't wait for the uncensored release xD And then show it to my brother O___O Don't worry, he'll be 15! but it'll scare him sleepless (´∀`)

    • Karakuri says:

Agreed. I need to get a bunch of people together and make a time machine …Isn’t that just Saya’s old outfit from her flashbacks?

The uncensored release will be epic! Ahaha I wish you luck with that. I plan on forcing my friends who couldn’t stomach Higurashi to watch this XD.

      • Yvoon says:

        O_O

There’s gonna be an uncensored version?!?!?!

i was already feeling a bit sick watching the censored version. Man, watched the whole half the episode through a crack in my fingers….”orz..

  16. Yvoon says:

Clamp, i bow down to your awesomeness.

Man, this turned out WAY better than i had expected. I didn’t really suspect anything until the last 3 episodes.

That last episode just blew me away! woah…that was soo GOOD!! Still thinking bout and trying to get my head around arounf everything.

Fumito-san was a real twist. I never expected him to be the mastermind and his cool smile even when he shot Saya just made him the ultimate madman.

    THIS WAS AWESOME!! XD

Can’t WAIT for the movie!! June?! JUNE?!?!
