Nichijou – 21

Yuuko- “Who’s ready to get their learn on!? I AM!”

Welcome back to another amazing review of Nichijou! A few days ago I recently joined a bunch of members of the SCCSAV to watch the Redline movie. I recommend you check that out if you are into racing and extreme fun. I think we had roughly eighteen people on Skype and I even talked Anaaga into joining the watch. We also checked out this episode of Nichijou and I have to say watching this with a group of people is always good for a few laughs.

Stories this week are somewhat filled with love or romantic moments. We follow Misato dissussing who she likes at school with her friends. Even our fantastic English teacher Takasaki gets into the romance theme with Sakurai. Things wrap up with Mio fighting the henchmen to regain her missing cube after kicking them around causing trouble for them.

         Fecchan-“Defeated by chocolate!”         Misato- “DIE, BAKA!!”         Weboshi- “Ahahah you got owned!”

The episode begins with a hilarious scene with Yuuko getting hit over the head saying happy over and over again, which was really random but left me laughing! After that amazing remix scene with Yuuko, we follow Misato talking to her two friends Weboshi and Fecchan. Yeah those two girls have the most random names so far in this series. Well I did love the way Fecchan talked as it was really cute to hear the way she spoke. The next event follows Takasaki running into Sakurai randomly, while she was shopping for groceries. Takasai gets all nervous around her after seeing her short twin tails and imagines something crazy with the two of them getting closer thanks to the students putting up a poster with them as a couple! Sadly that was only a dream.

Misato- “I wanted to be the goat in my dreams…”

Takasaki-“Sho..short…Twin…ta..t.tails! Hnnngggggggg.”

Tomboyish science characters are so moe this season!

Now for the greatest scene ever! We follow Mio on board the blimp floating in the sky where she faces off against the various numbered henchmen. A few special henchmen attempt to talk to Mio only to get beaten up by her, once she gets her second cube, she “powers” up and fights them! Number eight stands up after seeing his fellow friends getting taken out and rushes at her attempting to attack her. Mio defends herself and sends number eight flying; he bounces several times doing a complete circle knocking Mio off the blimp. After Mio lands in her seat, Yuuko stands up and screams out loud and walks off to stand in the hall. Damn I wonder if that was part of Yuuko’s imagination?! That probably wouldn’t surprise me too much if it was.

Number 71- “GAME OVER! MAN! We are going to get killed by a little girl.”

Number 8- “APPRIVOISE!!!”

Mio’s tiny fists really do pack quite a punch!

Mio- “What the hell! They must have been using cheat codes.”

Sakamoto finally gets some love this week at last.

Extra Laughs

Takasaki- “YES, I AM THE VICTOR!! WAIT THIS JUST CRACKED MY BACK!”

Nano- “Wh…what is he going to do with that?! WHAAAAAAAA!!”

Mio- “This hand of mine glows with awesome moe power!!!”

Yuuko- “Why do I feel like I was left out of all the amazing fun this week!? WHY!!”

End Thoughts:

What a crazy episode! Especially with that opening with Yuuko getting smacked over the head over and over again! Now we wait to see someone take that scene and remix it for a youtube or soundcloud song! If I knew how to make remix songs I would so try it. I think we are two for two with random openings! We have this one with Yuuko and the previous one with the guy missing his glasses. Anyways, Misato’s friends are really close to her! I mean sure they do wrestle Feechan a few times but you can clearly see the three of them are close. After all they say the more you pick on someone really means you are close to them even if others can’t see that, but Weboshi!? What kind of name is that! I guess it works for this series and I was like YA! Mohawk kid! I laughed with the whole “punk” thing Weboshi has for him.

Oh and now Takasaki and Sakurai?! Those two are so perfect for each other! I would definitely say they are the best couple of this series next to Misato and Sasahara. You could really see how nervous Sakurai makes Takasaki feel and those short twin tails?! SO CUTE! Then again Sakurai is really cute all the time anyway. I just loved the way Takasaki reacted to all the words Sakurai said, even the rest thing was taken way out of control! But hey it made me laugh and that love umbrella drawing?! D’awwww so nice!

And now for favorite moment of this episode! Mio and those henchmen! Seriously, Mio, you need to have a cameo appearance in some fighting games soon, or someone out there needs to add her to some eight bit game. I enjoyed watching all those special characters approach Mio in order to talk to her, over at skype Krizzlybear made a funny comment that each special guy represented a certain stereotype like we have Americans, Chinese, Japanese and a few others. But those power up moves! Maybe they just love to parody Dragonballz?! Well I know it’s not just DBZ! It did look a bit like Naruto than anything. And yeah, almost forgot Sakamoto! Besides getting shocked, I liked how he was like attached to Hakase’s head while she was sleeping; more love for Sakamoto, yes.
