Kore wa Zombie Desu ka – 10

Getting friendly with the enemy?

Welcome back, zombie fans! It’s been a while since we got to dive back into this series; well it was only a week anyway. We left off with some drama in the ninth episode, hopefully things pick up for us this time around. Not much going on for me besides waiting on anime to update, spend some time catching up on some old anime! Mostly One Piece, Gintama and saw two through four of Kara no Kyoukai movies. Highly recommend watching them; anyways onto the review!

Plot this week time-jumps to a couple of months since Yuu went missing. Aikawa is soon joined by Sera and Haruna who assist him with the King of the Night.  Yuki even gets in on the fight with some backup of her own; shortly after he escapes, they meet him at his apartment. Yuu helps King of the Night escape once more, but not before leaving a small gift for the others to play with.

Depressing scenes here; really feels lonely!

Sera- “The tea is great! Go die Aikawa.”                                   Aikawa-“……………Ouch.”

Sera playing some awesome music! Vampire ninja’s are so talented.

So a few months have passed for lonely Aikawa here but soon Haruna and Sera come rushing back into his small world of crazy friends! I knew they couldn’t stay away for long. Sera was attacked by her own ninja clan when they learned she disobeyed orders to kill Yuu. Shortly after welcoming everyone back, Aikawa goes out on his own and bumps into Mr. King of the Night.

Aikawa- “You look like Allelujah!”                   King- “I am better looking than those gundam pilots.”

Yeah, Aikawa got cut off. *shot*

You can’t be as cool as the King, baby!

Super awesome magical girl squad arrives!!

After Yuki and her backup arrives, King of the Night runs away. Well, I didn’t expect a long fight anyway so everyone takes a small retreat to plan the next move. Yuki calls Aikawa in the morning, learning the secret hideout of the boss, finding out he lives practically next door. Someone needs a better evil lair, not an apartment! Sera spots Yuu outside but gets attacked by the King, that sneaky bastard! After Sera wakes up, Aikawa and Haruna rush off to begin another fight, but they end up having dinner with him. Yes… they have dinner with him.

Aikawa told her something about Ramen and a bedroom, I can’t go into details.

We will fight to the death! But first let’s eat together? WHAAATTTT?

Ninja police are watching you eat.

While Haruna stuffs her face, Yuki’s friends arrive to catch the King and put a stop to his evil plans. Yuu gets close to him and helps him escape! Before King of the Night leaves, he gives a present to Haruna. Well, not really a gift unless you count a bomb a gift? This bomb attaches to your head and jumps from person to person like a parasite. Who knew the King was an inventor? So, Aikawa sacrifices himself and takes the bomb and jumps out the window to blow himself up. Smart or dumb move? He is a zombie after all. The episode wraps up after the large explosion.

Maybe Yuu likes older dead guys?

Haruna- “But this bomb makes you so MOE!!”              Yuki- “I DON’T WANT TO BE MOE!!”

The magical boy who exploded in the sky~

Extra Zombies!

Haruna- “You just activated my SERA GONNA KILL YOU trap card, Aikawa!”

Pink smoke? Oh god you are getting high again, Haruna.

King of the Night- “Your hair looks like cotton candy….nom….nom…”

Yuu- “I just want to take a damn nap PEOPLE!”

End Thoughts:

Happy to see the return of this show? I was glad to see a few months have passed and thankfully this wasn’t a full-on depressing episode. I figured Haruna and Sera would return quickly and it was nice to see Sera acting somewhat different, well not completely changed anyway. King of the Night was still cool as ever! Usually I don’t like bad guys but he is quite interesting, I still want to know how and why he can use magic. Maybe something Yuu did for him in the past?

I thought it was funny seeing Haruna and the others sitting there to eat dinner, quite funny! They have really kept the flow of comedy so far. Still, I wouldn’t eat food from the main boss! It could have been drugged. Of course, Haruna is the bottomless pit of this series; she probably would eat anything if no one claimed it first.

As for Yuu she seems more willing to help King of the Night, however; I think she is doing all of this to protect everyone from him. Then again maybe he has her brainwashed into thinking she is like a slave or servant to him? But I don’t think that would even be possible against Yuu’s magic. Aikawa jumping from the window with the bomb; not sure if that was smart, wouldn’t it blow his head off?! Lol, I guess he can play his main-hero card to return to life.

Preview!

Should have been Haruna, Yuki and Sera!

Next week! The search for Yuu and King of the Night continues!? Fingers crossed for the much needed magical girl versus magical zombie to begin.

Thanks!

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

LOL. KoreZombie is still has absurd as ever. But it it should stick with absurd because being all serious and dramaey feels off.

I’m still waiting for Yuu to open her mouth~

    • Foshizzel says:

Lol yes! Thats why I always love this show, always a great set up for a few laughs. Absurd is a good word, Absurd and random.

Well the would might blow up if she does hahah But I still want to see that too.

      • Kabitzin says:

Surprisingly, the plot is not that bad either. Like I kinda care about what is going to happen with everyone, even if guilt-motivated plots are a bit of a drag.

Dumb question, but why doesn’t he just scalp himself and toss the bomb out with his scalp? It’d be funnier, heal faster, and probably send the bomb farther. Just sayin’…

        • Foshizzel says:

True not bad plot so far, things have been going smooth for story they do go off randomly to fight a demon thing but always snap back to the core story with Yuu and the King of night.

Hahah good question, guess he wants to be more dramatic? and explode. I am sure we will see Haruna and Yuki screw up his rebuild again for laughs so expect something funny with that xD

I feel like a douche for sayin this but

SERA YOU’RE PLAYIN THE VIOLIN WRONG TAKE SOME DAMN LESSONS THATS NOT WHERE YOU PUT THE BOW IF YOU PLAY LIKE THAT IT’LL SOUND TERRIBLE
    /rantover

  3. Dan-go says:

i lold when sera played the violin on the fingerboard, goddamnit vampires, how the hell do you still manage to be so awesome!

    • BlackBriar says:

I honestly think when it comes to anime, vampires are always awesome. Some of them in movies and tv shows can pass, like Underworld for example.

      • Dan-go says:

oh god…twilight…doesnt count as vampires..they’re fairies, wimpy and emotional and they sparkle in the night

        • BlackBriar says:

Tell me about it. I was dragged to see them (don’t ask about why, don’t want to remember) and the only one I can honestly admit that I liked was Dakota Fannings’ character Jane. She’s the only true vampire in that lot. If only she was in something other than Twilight. Everything else was a complete waste of my time.

        • Foshizzel says:

Hellsing has the best vampire ever! Alucard FTW

      • Foshizzel says:

Yepp! Vampires are great in anime, I prefer the Shiki style of “real” vamps thou. But this series adds a comical side to them, which I really love! Sticking ninja to them makes it fun too.

LOL ya underworld vamps are odd.

        • Tofu says:

Underworld is awesome guys 😛 And yes, Sera, as a ninja and as well as being voiced by Hikasa Yoko make her AWESOMELY AWESOME!!! <3

          • Yvoon says:

            lol man,

u and ur fanboying again 😛

            haha!!!

          • Foshizzel says:

The first Underworld was great! But then they went and made three more! LOLOL

Sera is a fun character when she fights, guess having a good voice helps too 😉

    • Foshizzel says:

Rules don’t apply to the awesome vampire ninjas! They don’t believe in such things 😛

  4. BlackBriar says:

Good episode. It’s nice to see that time has speeded up. I like the part where Sera plays the violin. Who knew she was into classical music? At least we know she can do more than assassination missions. I usually don’t like bad guys but I’ll make an exception on this one because of this show. There’s the hot bad girl Kyoko and there’s the cool badass King of the Night. Cold, calculating, ruthless and using attacks that look like black fire. Is he channeling Itachi Uchiha?

It was surprising when they found out the King was practically next-door neighbors with them. No need to look for him, he’s right there. It brings up the old saying “keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer”

I know it’s “never sip tea with the enemy” but having dinner with the enemy?! That’s insane!!! I guess they want to get to know each other better before they rip each other apart like animals. Haruna eats a lot for someone her size. She’ll eat anything that is not tied down. I’m amazed there’s still food in Ayumu’s house.

    • Dan-go says:

sera canNOT play that violin. ugh the very thought of her bow on her fingerboard sends shivers down my spine ;P

    • MikADo says:

that is not the true mystery, the real one is how
Touma manages his household with a bottomless pit nun
with almost no income at all….

      • Foshizzel says:

Index will practically anything! One day she will eat that cat she carries around, well I don’t think she would go to those extremes.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah nice to see a anime jump ahead in time, you can really see the gap here too from kind of summer like to winter fast! Sera has changed quite a bit since she first arrived in the anime, violin was nice! I miss evil Kyoko! she was soooo much fun to watch hahah we don’t get many “evil” magical girls.

LOL Black fire I was thinking the same damn thing.

Damn King of night! But I like him he is a great bad guy so far, I laughed when Haruna ate dinner with him of course if there is food bet your money Haruna will be all over it. Haruna takes after a certain magical Index they should have a food battle imo!

      • BlackBriar says:

Ayumu’s choice about getting blown up must have been made easy when didn’t take his hand. I saw instant depression in eyes. He’s come close to death so many times I don’t think one little bomb is gonna be enough to do him in. If anything, we’ll find severed body parts all over the street. Find the pieces and put him back together again. LOL.

You know it’s bad news if you’re surrounded by ninjas, vampire ninjas, no less. Sera has changed a bit. I think her new quiet nature may have increased her killer instinct over the past few months. Ayumu shouldn’t provoke her anymore.

People usually say “with friends like that, who needs enemies?” but what can you possibly say when you’re actually being friendly with your enemy?

        • Foshizzel says:

LOL poor Aikawa going to be put together by Haruna and Yuki again, they failed the first time putting his legs on backwards he is screwed.

Yep Sera has changed quite a bit, but she will always pick on him anyway 😛

Hahaha yes! It doesn’t say eat dinner with him xD

  5. MikADo says:

Everyone is lol on Sera’s violin XD
but we know the true culprit…THE STAFF 😛
anyways after I watched this episode, I have a hunch
that that Zombie guy is not a villain…well quite obvious,
but probably wants to die after living so long..and use Yuu in the process, kind of like Code Geass R2 i guess…man i’m not gonna like where this is going to…

    • Foshizzel says:

Hahaha yea I had no idea she was playing it wrong, apparently there is a wrong way to play it? xD But I am no music “pro”

Yeah that could end up being true, he could just be a pawn working for some other higher ups? Oh agreed there he probably wants to die with her or some insane crap. Only time will tell, series like this usually end up getting another season. It is so much like Sora no Otoshumono without all the fan service.
