Bakuman 23 – 24

Gotta love that Bakuman Bromance~

~Can you guys believe it? Only ONE MORE EPISODE, and then we will deprived of enthusiasm injections till Fall, unless you’re reading the manga, of course. Honestly, these episodes have gone by really fast for me, and it doesn’t even feel like I’ve been blogging about Bakuman for almost six months now (I hope I’m not grossly miscalculating that heh).  I’ve gotten so in-tuned with this show, these posts have gotten shorter and shorter! Plus, the plot has kind of thinned out a bit, I won’t lie. -sigh- There’s so much I want to say about Bakuman right now, but I must wait until we reach the last episode. With that, let’s continue on!

Saiko and Shuujin decided to re-do their name, fixing both the drawings and the story to step up their game. However, it looks like the other participants, except for KOOGY, have also thought of that same idea after seeing everyone else’s names last episode.

This leads our hardworking manga artists to go on a rock-music montage of them working diligently on their manuscripts (Gosh I miss these….).

Shuujin and Saiko manage to finish in their deadline and go straight to Yuiesha to give it to Hattori. He notices the changes they made without telling him, but isn’t upset, and instead encourages them after reading their manuscript.

Battle faces ON.

With that, their entries appear in the magazine, each week. First is Fukuda’s Kiyoshi Knight, then Ashirogi Muto’s Shady Detective, Nakai’s and Aoki’s Hideout Door, and finally KOOGY’s Colorfusical. The three groups, as each others’ manga is published, worry about their own.

Throughout the weeks of their manga’s being released, the three groups all get very good results on their Early Results and even Real Deals. They even all get the green light to make up a serialization name as well!

As for KOOGY…well, it looks like the sexy smug bastard only placed at 14.

-RAAAAAAAAAAAGE-

While the editors meet up to decide the winner of the Golden Future Cup, everyone else is on edge with the cells ready to get the call from their own editors.

Suddenly, the calls are made and our winners are…Ashirogi Muto! And Fukuda-kun! It turns out it’s a tie; the first tie in the contest’s history. Despite that however, the two winners are pretty content.

Mashiro texts Azuki the good news, and she suddenly replies back asking for Takagi’s number. She ends up calling him to thank him, saying if it weren’t for him, she and Mashiro’s feelings would have ended at their middle school graduation, and even mentions that Mashiro had said he had given him his dream. (LE BROMANCE~)

Kaya soon takes the phone and tells her that she said should be talking to Mashiro instead, then passes it to him! Once he finally gets the courage to actually talk however, Azuki hangs up out of nervousness.

You, my friend, have just been BURRRNEDDDDD

Now that they’ve all passed the Golden Future Cup obstacle, it’s time to prepare for another: the Serialization meeting in December. Everyone has prepared their chapters, and all that’s left is to wait for the results.

My gosh, it feels like Hattori’s eyes are burning holes into my soul…

The night before the big meeting, Hattori and Niizuma’s editor (I have NO IDEA what his name is) both go out for a drink, voicing their hopes that maybe they’ll accept more than two new stories.

In the end though, they all just have to wait for tomorrow~

End thoughts: Since last week’s episode was really uneventful, except for the nail-biting, head-banging tension as I waited for everyone’s results, I’m just going to go straight into this week’s episode, which was MUCH more exciting in comparison to last week. I literally was jumping up and down when KOOGY’s results ended up being horrible. I love the guy, but I can’t accept the whole having-his-fans-vote-for-him thing. Of course, I also had the same reaction when Ashirogi Muto ended up winning. For some reason, I really liked the fact that they ended up being tied with Fukuda. If only one person had won, it probably would have only given me a tinge of excitement, but the fact they kind of mixed it up and made it a tie, surprised me in a good way. Something different for once, am I right?

OH GOSH, the part where Azuki hangs up on Mashiro right when he’s about to actually SPEAK to her had me cracking up like crazy. I couldn’t stop laughing, even though I know that must have been really awkward and embarrassing. It felt like payback after all that damn whining he did through out the series. So, TAKE THAT SAIKO. Again, I love you man, but you just get pretty annoying sometimes. I feel so at peace with him now~.

All right, I’m going to take up your time more and establish a new pairing: HattorixNiizuma’s editor. I mean, that whole scene with them at the bar really gave off that BL type of setting. THE MUSIC, THE BLUSHES (even though I know it’s from the alcohol), NIIZUMA’S EDITOR’S SEDUCTIVE LOOK.

Hate me all you want boys, but I FELT IT, I SAW IT. Of course, Niizuma’s editor is going to be the uke with that skinny build of his, we all know that even though he’s the one obviously flirting. Okay, I’ll stop now because I’m actually grossing myself out thinking about Hattori’s fish face HA…(You all know I’m messing around. I just like to freak out all the guys out there with yaoi, heh).

Well, it’s finally come down to this; the finishing of my second to last end thoughts for Bakuman. Honestly, I combined these two episodes not only because my brain just couldn’t figure out what to write for last week’s bland, hard-working music montage-filled episode, but because I wanted to have these last two episodes together in one big, screencap-filled post before the final episode. Weird? Yes, but I’ve grown too attached to this show to not do something like this. So, who’s ready for the finale?~

Preview:

THIS. IS. IT! Will Ashirogi Muto finally accomplish their dream of getting serialized? Who will be acccepted, and who will be turned down? This is a very cliche way to word this preview, BUT WHO CARES? It’s the final episode next week, folks!

Until then~!!

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought “zomg is yuujiro seducing hattori?!” at that bar scene… for a second there I was worried I was reading too much yaoi DX

    • Namika says:

      *handshake* don’t worry, we’re with you!! 😀

    • Hoshi says:

~YOU CAN NEVER READ TOO MUCH YAOI.
I was actually thinking the same thing though, whether I was reading too much, because it instantly came to me.
      So yeah don’t worry! X’D

OMG, How I couldn’t see it??
    HattorixNiizuma’s editor !
But I just have to stop thinking about them…
From this moment I’m going to start imagine weird things every time that I see them togheter.
I’m mean, I like yaoi; But I don’t want to imagine Hattori’s pleasure face even for all the money in this world.

    • Hoshi says:

~OH LORD YES…That’s why I stopped as well.
Hattori’s fish face creeps me out enough; I don’t need to imagine his pleasure face *shiver*

BAKUMAN! WHY IS YOUR FIRST SEASON ENDInG BEFORE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE ARCS?! SERIOUSLY /endrant

Azuki, you’re cute and all, but just man up a little, Mashiro would like it, I’m sure.

I seriously love everything about Bakuman. Have I said that every post yet? haha.

Yaoi, in my bakuman? I kid, I thought it too. But no.

    • Junko says:

Oh, and I really liked the whole reading of each manga in ep 23. It was a prety cool way to animate those scenes from the manga without them getting boring or anything, cleaver.

      Also, I still <3 you, Nizuma-kun~

      • Hoshi says:

~I’m actually not that harsh on Azuki because I know how she feels x’D But there are times were I’m just like, “TALK TO HIM DAMNIT…”

Yeah, I highly disapprove of any yaoi coupling in Bakumn, but I couldn’t resist talking about Yuujiro and Hattori.

Ah, same here! It made it really interesting, and it was great to get a look at what they’re actually making.

        *high fives* NIIZUMA FANGIRLS UNITE<3

  4. tanukichan says:

Niizuma’s editor’s name is Hattori Yuujiro. Ashirogi’s editor, Hattori’s full name is Hattori Akira.

And hey, I ship HattorixHattori too (way before this episode, actually, it was a certain scene in the manga, which I forgot). 😉

    • Hoshi says:

~Ahhhhh! Thank you for that! I knew his name started with a Y, but I just couldn’t exactly remember his full name x’D

WHOOO~ ANOTHER SHIPPER *highfives* I didn’t see a panel in the manga; I must search for it now as more evidence *3*

I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THE 1ST SEASON HAS ONLY 1 EPISODE LEFT!!!! I CAN NOT BELIEVE I WON’T SEE BAKUMAN UNTIL THIS FALL!!! Man, this anime is really sly!! Being calm at first, but now I’m freaking out, because the first season is ending TT^TT Thank god, that the 2nd season will be out this year!!!
Miho is a meanest person in the world! No, just kidding ^^” The moment when she and Akito were talking was so sweeeeeeet~ And she just HAD to drop the phone when Mashiro was finally going to talk to her XD Ah, couples these days….
    OMG….. I’m afraid of the next Saturday… >.> Don’t ever come!!!!! ><"""

    • Hoshi says:

~I KNOW NAMIKA IT’S SO SADDDDDDDD! DON’T WORRY WE’LL GET THROUGH THIS ;3; At least we don’t have to wait too long…

Hahahaha~ Yeah I couldn’t believe it! I was like, “She’s FINALLY going to talk to him!” and BAM, she hangs up so suddenly x’D

Uwah, same here ;A; I already have my goodbye letter for Bakuman planned…

      • Namika says:

        ><""""" Yeah, at least we have to wait only 2 seasons to get some more enthusiasm injections. But still…. that will be a long wait T_T

That was such a Burn! XD Poor Mashiro :'( I feel for you, dude.

Unfortunately, we'll have to say goodbye to Bakuman SOMEDAY at the very least…… I'm making no sense, right??? 😀
