Accelerator’s best fight ever?
After all that light and fluffy fun in episode eighteen, it’s time for some serious stuff to go down; we can only hope so! Of course any episode with Accelerator and Last Order running around always opens up quite a fun ride.
Plot this week has Accelerator running into Amata Kihara, leader of a special unit called Hound Dogs, who also was Accelerator’s mentor. Last Order gets kidnapped; but gets away and she finds Touma and requests his help to save him.
All the nuns in Index are a bit perverted, huh?

After the bit of fun in Russia with Sasha and a random nun, we join Last Order and Accelerator walking home in the rain. Last Order falls and hurts her knees and this forces Accelerator to go and buy some band aids for her. Ye Gods, he does have a heart! Really shows he somehow cares for his little friend. Before he can rejoin Last Order though, he gets attacked by the Hound Dogs with a hardcore job of trying to run him over. He then runs into Amata Kihara who kicks his ass up and down the street.
Those cheeks, I must touch…
Grrrr face gets all the girls.
-Soldier-“SIR, I THINK WE FOUND HIM! OH GOD, WHY?!”
I knew it! Accelerator is a pyromaniac
Ouch! right in the face! Amata does have some epic laughs.
Being a former teacher to Accelerator, he knows all his tricks and how to work around his vector abilities and makes quick work of him. Well, at least Accelerator is not all powerful; still sad to see him get beaten up so fast! The Hound Dogs grab Last Order but Accelerator uses his ability to knock her into the sky; I guess he calculated where she would land safely. A few minutes later, Index arrives to return something to Accelerator.
Have to say this part of the fight was amazing! Animation was top quality here.
Not sure why, but this reminded me of something from Metal Gear Solid…
“I Believe I can fly!”
Quick, Accelerator, send Index flying!
Meanwhile, Touma runs off to find Index and notices lots of anti-skill outside standing around; until they begin to randomly pass out in front of him. Maybe they saw Touma and were like, dude, let’s leave the city to that boy! Last Order runs and clings to Touma, crying her eyes out for him to save Accelerator and we get to see Vento walking around talking to Aleister on a radio. Seems like she already knows quite a bit about Judgment, Anti-skill, Misaka system and the Imagine Breaker or she might have been watching Index. The episode ends with Aleister giving commands to Amata to eliminate Vento and capture Index.
I love Last Order and all but that is some crazy detail on her face…

End Thoughts:
Whoa! What a great episode this week! Lots of action with some story progression going on this time around. Seeing Accelerator go to the store to buy some bandages for Last Order was kind of cute, just to see that he generally cares for her even though she would drive most people nuts. So, we get to see some progress between the two of them. Seeing Amata arrive and beat the snot out of Accelerator was shocking, then again Amata knows the ins and outs of his power so in a way he has an edge.
Seeing Vento arrive and start chatting with Aleister was also nice, finally seeing that dude make his move! Can’t wait to see what FUSE=Kazakiri does and how Index plays into all this. I can only guess she is like the power for it or something cheesy; probably its magic powered! It was interesting to hear Vento knowing everything about Academy City even down to Touma’s power. Then again, he has been kicking the church’s ass this whole season.
I am curious to learn what Index will do to actually help Accelerator, that and if Mikoto is aware of the current events with Touma, Last Order and Accelerator? Hopefully she gets to finally learn all that Touma has been keeping hidden from her. But judging from the opening video, she gets stuck fighting Anti-skill people.

Next week! Action and some story progression?! Let’s hope so! I think we finally get Mikoto and Kuroko in on the events happening in Academy City and more Index teaming up with Accelerator.

Awesome! Let the action begin! I’m a bit down it’s to the later end of the series but the way they’re going, they’ll have to make a third season.
Forgetting bout my, JC Staff-has-to-do-another-season-to-finish–off-Index woes, the fight was intense, and they kept the quality high as well, which is always good for the ‘aesthetics’ :). Agonising wait for the next ep, specially when I have some idea of the plot…ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! Saturday, come already!
Vento’s entrance…i think Touma’s harem building has finally caught up to him ;P…
PS. FYI Foshizzel, Aleister’s going to be a tube boy/girl/stalker for a vveerrryyy long time. He’ll still be trolling everyone though all the way

naaaaaaaaa the sllice of life moments are pulled off far better than the battles of this anime, and there were 2 episodes of calmness, that slowly built up to this episode, they can’t just pack everything into everysingle episode, it lacks structure and real plot, basic plot creation>adrenalin junkies, and ultimately shows that just whore adrenalin pumped climatic moments aren’t particularly memorable

Well that is true, I just think the slice of life moments are far to many in this series so far. I did go back to the first season and caught the first few episodes and those are mostly action.
Plot is there it’s just hard to follow most of the time, when they go from fighting episodes straight to DAAWWWW episodes kind of throws people off.

Well that’s a given with any show like this, I don’t want constant in your face battle after battle that would get really old fast.
It’s the same with Merry people loved episode one, then started to drop that series around three or four they wanted constant fighting for her.

Im gonna take a wild stab at ep 20, Index pulls out magic in front of Accelerator or Stiyl being the stalker he is comes out and save Index and Accelerator. Touma and Last Order then make their way to Accelerator to see Stiyl getting owned. Touma uses epic punch. The End. Then Vento comes along and next ep preview goes.

I should say…since books volume 1~11 is the prologue and volume 11 to 22 is the 1st chapter… and volume 23 being a new chapter…. CONGRATS we have just entered the start of the chapter! Since the second season will cover the stories of volume 13, I guess the whole second season is just an teaser for the main dish (season 3 and possibly/likely 4) and the whole season one was just half of the appetizer 😛

I have a friend on twitter Crazydave or something like that, he says the fights coming up should be very interesting for Accelerator and Mikoto. However he doesn’t think they can pull it off in the anime version he read most of the light novel.

Yes! That it does, however I think with a series like this you need it for all the characters to shine. Take a series like Durarara!! They don’t always have fight fight fight every episode, we also get the comedy and slice of life filled episodes.
So any series with tons of characters will always have “filler” aka boring episodes xD
