Toaru Majutsu no Index II – 16

Hello! And welcome back for another review of Index. Few things going on for me lately, loving that Madoka Magica show! Great stuff happening so far. If you are not watching it, I recommend you do; if you hate magical girl anime it might not be your first pick of course. Other than that I have been watching Beelzebub and finding myself actually surprised that I like it so far anyway. Well, onto the review!
This week on Index we jump right into the action, skipping the opening all together. Touma runs into Biagio Busoni, beats his face in and saves Agnese from being used as parts for a spell. Later Touma is rushed back to Academy city and informed, he has a bet to pay off with Mikoto.

“Alright, so don’t have this! Ouch!” “Muhahah eat ma shoe, loli!”
After the short fight between Touma and Biagio, he reveals to Agnese that he needs her to complete a massive spell to destroy Academy city. Looks more like a mini-death-star made of ice or a large bowling ball. Orsola attempts to fight but Agnese jumps in and meets Biagio’s foot to her face! Wonder what kind of shoes he wears. Touma arrives later, being his final fight with the crazy Bishop.
“Begone spikey demon child!” “GIVE ME THAT SHINEY OBJECT!!”
What the hell!? Is this Zero time? Maybe Takuto can help with his sparkles.
Of course, Biagio uses the SAME ATTACK OVER AGAIN.

After the defeat of Biagio, the main control ship is blown up and slowly melts, after which Touma wakes up in a hospital, as usual. I wonder who pays his medical bills? Must cost a fortune with him visiting so often. Before he leaves, the doctor from Academy City lets Touma know that Mikoto has plans for him when he returns. We also have Agnese and Orsola moving in with our favorite sword girl Kaori Kanzaki! They should so get a spin-off series for themselves.
“Yes, you’re pregnant, Touma” “Nooooooooooooooo!!!!”
Near the end we get to see another new nun character, yes there are more of them but this one looks a bit different than most. She has a paper to be signed by the Vatican; written on this note is an order to kill Touma. Guess, they finally figured it out! He is too over powered for his own good…
Pein?! What are you doing in Index, go back to Naruto!

Good news, Touma, you are not the father!
Yes! This is what the series needs: more maids and less nuns.

End thoughts
First half was great lots of action and of course Touma’s right-hand sound effect going off like crazy; makes me want to get a soundboard with it. I really enjoyed Biagio as the end filler boss for this arc and that crazy voice! So good. Finally things are over with this current arc, however I don’t think we have seen the last of Orsola and Agnese; I have a feeling we will see them again. If not that would be alright, probably time to focus more on Academy City and Touma’s impending doom anyway.
The final battle between Touma and Biagio wasn’t that amazing either, then again what more can we expect from Touma’s fighting skills with that arm of his? The people in Academy city are keeping track of it, so maybe he will learn something different with it.
The ending of the episode does tell me that the church group is still after Touma, thanks to all his interference with the various plans to destroy Academy City. So, we might see more esper on magician battles soon! That new chick looks freaky though; Touma might have a hard time fighting this one.
Preview!
Next week seems like more Mikoto and Touma fun time! I guess they are going on a date? Also, we do get to see the Misaka sisters and Accelerator and Last Order riding in a car together. So Mikoto all over! Hopefully, a new opening song I think.

I dropped this series on episode 9 of the second season. It was getting exasperatingly senseless, even with the epic sparkles. And Touma’s tag line? “I will crush that illusion of yours!” was also unnerving.
However, for some reason I wouldn’t want to miss out on Mikoto and Illusion-face getting together XD

True Touma’s signature line does get old after a while, usually I just ignore it most of the time xD.
