First Impression – Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?
Mahou Shoujo is so yesterday….Mahou SHOUNEN is all the rage
Overcooled: None of us really wanted to touch this, much like Rio, due to the daunting aspect of trying to deal with both loli, harem, ecchi and zombies all in one. So here we are, doing the first impression of a show we expected almost nothing from. I think you’ll be surprised when you see our end thoughts on the show though.
Foshizzel: zombie’s and moe characters?! this sounds like a strange but unique spin on the harem theme show and a chick with a magical chain saw?! lets see how things turn out…
Overcooled: It starts off mediocre enough, with the typical male protagonist foreshadowing how his comfortable everyday life is going to change. On the way home from school, he sees a cat about to get hit by a truck and dives in to save it. However, in turn, he gets hit by the truck. If you thought this is where he turns into a zombie: you’re wrong. He goes “LULZ I’m already a zombie” before getting hit and sails into the sky in all his naked glory.
Being a zombie, he makes it home in one piece with nothing more than a sore body. A mute girl named Eucliwood Hellscythe clad in crazy armour stares at him and demands he makes dinner (using a notepad to communicate). Ever the optimist, he’s convinced that she’s secretly super dere under all that tsun. His fantasies seem to be a bit off, because its not long before she breaks his arm for so much as trying to touch her. The only reason she seems to be living with him is because she resurrected him so he could find his murderer.
How does an average kid find a serial killer? Wander around at night randomly and hope for the best. At least he’s aware that he’s not exactly Sherlock Holmes material, here. (This ain’t no Gosick) He ends up chilling in a graveyard, calmed by the smell of rotting old people and creepy noises. While the graveyard doesn’t rattle his cage, a loli with a chainsaw popping out of nowhere and nearly slicing him in two does the trick.
Poor Aikawa barely dodges one thing, and just gets stabbed by another. A giant pedobear is after the loli, and accidentally skewers Aikawa. Haruna decides to perform a sacrificial kill, the power of her panties splitting Aikawa clean in half and killing the bear. Oh, wait, it was chainsaw, not her panties. They’re both so effective, it’s hard to tell sometimes.
WHY CAN’T YOU HAVE A STUFFED BEAR LIKE EVERY OTHER LOLI, HUH?
Aikawa’s top half calmly complains to the loli about her violence, even if it was in self-defense against a pedo. She’s surprised to learn he’s a zombie, despite being a kooky “Masou Shoujo” herself (yeah, I don’t know why it’s not “Mahou”). While trying to erase his memories, she ends up becoming naked. Don’t you just hate it when that happens?
Oh, are you cosplaying as someone from Freezing! now? Oh wait, you’re naked. Same thing.
Powerless and pantsless, a horrible combo, she has no choice but to follow Aikawa home and stay with him until her powers return. Haruna is actually pretty cute, batting at a phone like a cat and being more like the tsundere Aikawa imagines in his head. 2 girls under one roof, and he’s still so “meh” about it that he just plods off to school the next day without banging either of them.
School is normal (aside from almost dying in the sunlight), until class ends and he has to wait for nightfall. Left all alone, a rapist enters the classroom and tries buttrape him. I love this show. Anyways, Haruna jumps in to save him, but the man is only interested in Aikawa since he has all of the loli’s power. We get two transformations: one cute and one horrendous. Hint: the end result of the horrendous one is a giant red crayfish.
Warming up your winter one pink ribbon at a time
Haruna catches the naked disease again, leaving her utterly powerless. Aikawa tries to be the hero in her place, using his full potential as a zombie, but doesn’t quite finish off the crayfish. Not like this. No, what he needs is a pink hat and striped panties. And maybe a chainsaw. With these things he finishes off the crayfish with the power of STRIPES! After he wins, the entire school sees him and takes pictures with their cellphones. With that, Kore Zombie ends. :3

Foshizzel:thought it was going to be a boring dumb show but turned out to be funny
Overcooled: Yeah, I saw “harem” and almost refused to watch it then and there but then…wow…it turned out to be funny
Foshizzel:Yeah that’s the same way I feel about it
Overcooled: I was won over by the time he got hit by the car and sailed through the sky. And when he transformed into a magical girl, moaning along the way? FAN FOR LIFE
Foshizzel:Oh yeah that was funny got owned then spins xD Yeah the magical guy transformation! lol…
Overcooled: It reminded me of baka to test…XD I love my traps, afterall. Do you think he’ll transform every episode?
Foshizzel:I hope not or things might get really old fast, it has a bit of an MM! feel to it
Overcooled: I want him to…I don’t get that MM! feel where things will get boring very fast if they’re overused, because the comedic timing is really good
Foshizzel:Right that is true too if they can keep up the comedy it will be a great show. The characters seem to fun
Overcooled: Yeah, I like the characters too. I was worried that when more of the harem girls come in, things would get bad…but then I realized that the current girls are pretty damn awesome so I feel like it’ll be safe XD
Foshizzel:Haha yes yes I think theres a witch girl or something like that too. The quiet girl seems like the moe bait though
Overcooled: WITCH GIRL? =O
Foshizzel: I think so

Foshizzel:Hmm this is interesting. She’s a short vampire ninja named Seraphim.
Overcooled: Oh my god. A vampire ninja. I’m watching the hell out of this

Overcooled: Or maybe I’m delusional because of the lack of good anime this season

Foshizzel: Oh it had to be the magical transformation for the guy i died laughing hard
Overcooled: YES I didn’t see that coming at ALL
Foshizzel:Yeah that came out of nowhere
Overcooled: Probably my favourite part too.

lol. this really surprised me. Nothing, actually NOTHING went the way I thought it would be. Right from the scene where I tought Aikawa would become a zombie for the sake of some random cat… he smiles all sparkly and says that he is a zombie ALREADY. Caught me toooootally off guard. Then, after that, I just came to like this show more and more. The pink chainsaw is so win. Oh, it reminded me a little of Dokuro-chan too. ;p

ok, when i saw this episode few days ago, i was wondering something..how come from staying a little in the sun in the class, he got all dryed up and needed to stay in class till it got dark outside, BUT, at the begging of the series, HE WAS WALKING OUTSIDE WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, you know before he got hit by the car coz of the cat…and then he was all naked under the bright sky, and it didn’t affect him…so why he couldn’t go home, if he was walking with no problems at the begging …
