2010 Year-Ender: Anime EDs

Second in line for the Year-Ender post is Anime EDs~

Woo~ These posts are sure time-consuming… Actually, the research behind them is. Though, as I told Ness, being the Overlord is not easy and I’m happy to dish out extra stuff for the site. To make this a daily update, do vote on the polls that would be updated regularly. However, till the cutoff date for the fan favourite post, you can always revisit the relevant posts and keep up with the status of who’s winning and who’s not.

As promised I bring you Anime EDs this time around and man, was it difficult! I had to scrap some of the singles just to make the list concise because 2010 sure has been good!  Also note, this is not in any particular order because I like ALL of them. The decision is actually in your hands and dependent on your votes.

So far, I have completed 2010 Year-Ender – Anime OPs (I will keep on updating this list as I post on). So, here we go again:

1. Arakawa Under the Bridge /x Bridge – “Sakasama Bridge” by Suneohair

“Akai Coat” by Suneohair

Can I say something more about my love for this franchise? I simply love all the OP/EDs of Arakawa Under the Bridge, they are simply soothing to the ear. Always the right amount of peppiness and awesome drums. Suneohair dai suki~ and same goes for SHAFT who finally found time to animate the ending sequence rather than some more live action. =P

2. Amagami SS – “Koi wa Mizu-iro” by Yukana

This one was not expected at all, I can bet. I was chatting with BlackLagoon on our chatbox and we discussed how Ayatsuji is WIN and I’m a mixture of Kaoru, her and Shiki… I know weird combination but coming to Nanasaki, she had been my favourite while checking out the manga and at least the ED single didn’t let me down. Her end was very random though.

3. Angel Beats! – “Brave Song” by Aoi Tada

I was one of those people who went meh after seeing the first two episodes of Angel Beats! However, some people actually coaxed me to continue with it and I’m glad I did. Discovering the music of Girls DeMo has been a delight as well and this ED is just one of the many examples of how good every single release is.

4. Youjohan Shinwa Taikei “Kami-sama no Iu Toori” by Etsuko Yakushimaru

If you have seen this (I recommend, if you haven’t already!), this song is the epitome of whenever clock moves back and Watashi is sent back to some other event. The storyline somehow always ends up within the 4.5 Tatami mats of his room and around people important to him. Thus, ED is awesomely done by Madhouse and Etsuko’s (remember her from Arakawa OPs?) voice compliments the lyrics with its sweetness.

5. Shiki – “Gekka Reijin” by Buck-Tick

I ended up liking both the OP/ED of Shiki performed by Buck-Tick but you can easily guess why. The tune is upbeat and portrays the horror part of the show brilliantly. Yeah, nod your head and shake your shoulders, not to mention naked Natsuno/ Tohru ftw~ :3

6. Kuragehime – “Kimi no Kirei ni Kizuite Okure” by Sambomaster

Count on Brains base to make another winner. You can see me fangirl with Hoshi over this and not only the story but heartwarming music. That is what Sambomaster does and I’ve posted up the full version that the TV size, which you can listen to any time at your leisure. So, yeah, you are beautiful and better believe in yourself! ^^

7. K-On!! – “NO, Thank You!” by HTT

If you remember the time I appeared on the DDD’s fourteenth podcast, I played “Girls in Wonderland”, a song that I love. Not to mention, the fact that it keeps me on my feet. “No, Thank you” is just the same, building up to its crescendo and filled with K-On!! goodness. Yeah, fanboys, scream now. I still liked don’t say lazy more.

8. Durarara!! – “Trust Me” by Yuya Matsushita

“Butterfly” by ON/OFF

Being a fangirl of the series, I liked BOTH of its OP/ED sequences. See it however you will but there is something fascinating with everyone lined up one after the other.

9. Soredemo Machi wa Matteiru – “Maids Sanjou!” by Maids

This show is not as great as Arakawa if you compare the humour but it has its moments. The wacky Maids with their individuality is what makes this show tick and same happens in case of the ED. Maids Sanjou!

10. Shinrei Tantei Yakumo – “Missing You” by Lisa Komine

This is not that song that would move you but the one you listen, when you are feeling thoughtful or would just like a calming listen. I love how the song ends with Yakumo and Haruka grasping the same source of light.

11. Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin – “Kimi ga Iru Basho” by Ayahi Takagaki

This is one of those songs that I like even with live-action (I’m kind of against it while watching my animu), though this is an exception because of being connected strongly with the storyline and the feel-good emotion that it gives.

12. Saraiya Goyou – “All I need…” by Rake

Another one of my favourite titles of 2010, a story that really rakes you in. You just have to get used to the unique character design. I like the ED because it’s so upbeat, showcasing the positivity of this title.

13. Naruto Shippuden – “Utakata Hanabi” by Supercell (nagi)

I can bet, you are not seeing a trend here, as I listen to both rock/upbeat and calming/slow numbers. This is from one of my favourite singers, not her best song but the single contains two more gems (Worldwide Love, Hoshi ga Mabataku). So enjoy this ditty~

14. Yosuga no sora – “Pinky Jones” by Momoiro Clover

Twincest is wincest, but I’ve already talked about that. This sure is an amusing ED, unlike the characters of this anime, who are either secretive or overly friendly. Momoiro Colvers sure liven the scene so get ready to do some twists.

Special Mention of Panty & Stocking’s “ANARCHY”, which is simply awesome. However, the quality of the show (from win to total meh), this is definitely FTW. The wait for this OST starts now.
TIME TO VOTE!
This ends the second installment of 2010′s Top 10 nominations up for voting. For Best ED selection, you can vote up to SEVEN (7) choices! So, let us know which of the nominees are you voting for and why? Till my next post tomorrow, Ja ne~ ^^

POLLS ARE CLOSED NOW. Results are HERE!

Nice selection, maybe my top favs from the list would be (in no particular order):

    “Brave Song” by Aoi Tada
“Kimi no Kirei ni Kizuite Okure” by Sambomaster
    “NO, Thank You!” by HTT
    “Utakata Hanabi” by Supercell (nagi)

Also not on the list that I liked was “Fallen Angel” by Aimee B from PnS. The song reminded me of something that I can’t remember but it sticks with me hehe.

    • Kyokai says:

Fallen Angel was on my first draft but damn, there were so many to select from! Listing is hard. =3=

      *also, first comment cookie*

  2. Tofu says:

Woot! NO THANK YOU!!!!! x3 I’d give you a 1000 votes if I could!!! ><"

But besides that my other selections were (not in any particular order):

Kimi ga Iru Basho" by Ayahi Takagaki
    Utakata Hanabi" by Supercell
    Trust Me" by Yuya Matsushita
    Koi wa Mizu-iro" by Yukana
    Brave Song" by Aoi Tada
    Pinky Jones" by Momoiro Clover

I actually really liked the ED for Arakawa the first time I listened to it just then xD But sorry~ I didn't vote for it because these ones were BETTER!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA

    • Kyokai says:

Lol, looks like Trust Me is going to win this time around but no worries, Tofu; I love No, Thank You and even Girls in Wonderland from the same album. xD

  3. Hoshi says:

~Hands down, the Arakawa Under the Bridge endings are my absolute favorite<3 I loved DRRR!'s ending and of course Kuragehime's ending, but I'm absolutely in love with the Arakawa endings. Suneohair ALL THE WAY!

    • Hoshi says:

“Trust Me” is just TOO FREAKING CATCHING. I’ll suddenly starting singing to myself, “Trust me trust me trust me YEAH!” during class x’D

      • Overcooled says:

        TRUST ME FTW

      • BlackLagoon187 says:

Haha yeah “Trust Me” is so catchy, I remember when I spammed my replay button when I first heard it xD

        • Tofu says:

Trust Me was a really good song, I also liked replyaing it over and over cause it was THAT good! xD But unfortunetly I kept hearing it and when new songs I liked came into my playlist I didn’t favour Trust Me as much and now it’s like ‘meh’ to me… But I still voted for it cause I know it’s an awesome song xD DON’T KILL ME~~~~ T_T

    • Kyokai says:

Suneohair is LOVE!!! And you got all my favourites, Hoshi! <333

Trust Me is definitely going for that WIN~

  4. Alynn says:

I t might be just me, but I find it was easier to choose my favourite EDs than it was to choose OPs.

These are my top picks however.

    # “Kimi no Kirei ni Kizuite Okure” by Sambomaster
    # “Trust Me” by Yuya Matsushita
    # “Sakasama Bridge” by Suneohair
    # “Akai Coat” by Suneohair
    # “Brave Song” by Aoi Tada

    • Kyokai says:

EDs were definitely easier than the OPs. And I see you love Suneohair like me. And that Sambomaster song is just amazing. It’s on repeat on my iPod. :3

  5. wonton jr. says:

I loved the No thank you ED XD it was so awesome!

My selections in order from 1-4:
    “NO thank you!”by HTT
    “Utaka Hanabi” by Supercell
    “Trust me” by Yuya Matsushita
    “Brave Song” by Aoi Tada

    • Kyokai says:

Same here! It’s so catchy and same for Trust me.
Utakata Hanabi doesn’t even count because I love everything that nagi sings. And Brave Song is just soo good. :3

  6. Overcooled says:

I almost always skip the ending song lulz. The ones that I actually listen to (No Thank You, Gekka Reijin and most importantly TRUST ME)are the ones I knooowww I like.

  7. BlackLagoon187 says:

    “NO, Thank You!” by HTT
    “Trust Me” by Yuya Matsushita
    “Koi wa Mizu-iro” by Yukana
    “Brave Song” by Aoi Tada
    “Butterfly” by ON/OFF

Haha Kyo I was half expecting to see Ayatsuji’s ED in here but Nanasaki’s song is one of the best ED’s imo (I hate to admit it despite Ayatsuji’s awesomeness xD)

    No, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!
    *PANTS* *MOEGASMS* *SPURTS* *ETC*
I’m surprised that Listen! isn’t in as well, I thought it was as catchy as NO, Thank You! (But No, Thank You > Listen!). Oh well at least No, Thank You! was in 😀

    • Kyokai says:

I should have added Ayatsuji’s but it was too sad for my taste so Nanasaki wins~ And yeah, No Thank You is awesome and > Listen! And Trust me is sure giving it a big competition.

  8. Amutofan123 says:

    -“Maids Sanjou!” by Maids

    I love my Arakawa ED’s!

  9. RagnarokTMDL says:

My personal favorite is Trust Me though I am pretty sad Bird (Black Butler II First Ending Song), also by Yuya, never made it in. This year sparks a slight change in Yuya’s music, establishing a rather unique “Yuya Matsushita” style that is quite unlike anything else. Trust Me has a very catchy tune and is EXTREMELY addictive. Hopefully, I will see his name in here again next year. 🙂

  10. Xiao says:

Hmm…haven’t watched many of these, sadly. 🙁

Vote goes to DRRR!! again…and “Missing You” as well since I liked the sad emotion it evokes from you.

  11. amado says:

    brave song by aoi tada
    trust me by yuya matsushita
    butterfly by on/off

though I would have preferred tsunagu kizuna by team nekokan (yosuga no sora) over the pinky jones choice…

  12. hayashi says:

gosh i love durarara’s endings! and there’s like so many parodies of trust me:D and i think angel beats brave song was nice and very fitting to the overall plot:) sakasama bridge was nicee too:) but why isnt there kuroshitsuji’s 2 ending? i think it was very nice and so was the op;(

  13. Dan-go says:

ANARCHYYYYY EVERYONE WANTS TO BE ME ANARCHYYYYYYEAAAH GET IT UP SO I CAN SEEEE ANAARCHAAAYYYY YOU’RE READY FOR THE GAME

  14. MikADo says:

    Brave song – Angel Beats
    Akai coat – ARAKAWA
    No! Thank you!! – K-ON!!
Utakata Hanabi – although i hate naruto super cell is aweseome
    Panty & Stocking’s ANARCHY – 😀
    Butterfly – DRRR!!

  15. baka_girl says:

    My vote this time:
    – Kimi ga Iru Basho by Ayahi Takagaki => don’t know why, I just like this song!
    – Utakata Hanabi by Supercell => aww, really loves this song! But, this one still can’t beat Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari :))
    – Trust Me by Yuya Matsushita => this one definitely win! <3 <3 don’t really like it at first, but I gradually like it after hearing it multiple times XD

  16. Hato-kun says:

    *Looks at results*

    I’m disappointed in you, Metanorn…

    • Dan-go says:

      *Looks at Hato’s comment*
      I’m dissapointed in you, Hato-kun

  17. anaaga says:

i actually don’t listen to ED, since most of them are slow songs and makes me fall asleep. that’s why i like extremely loud songs like trust me and butterfly. and maids sanjou too xD
but occult gakuen’s ed is an exception 😀

  18. Namika says:

    I’m in heaven…..
“Kami-sama no Iu Toori” by Etsuko Yakushimaru
    “Gekka Reijin” by Buck-Tick
    “Utakata Hanabi” by Supercell
“Kimi no Kirei ni Kizuite Okure” by Sambomaster
    “Trust Me” by Yuya Matsushita
    “Sakasama Bridge” by Suneohair
    “Butterfly” by ON/OFF
For an OP/ED junky like me it’s real heaven…….. @^@
What can I say, I love all of these ED!! ^__^ especially “Butterfly”, “Utaka hanabi”,”Kimi-sama no iu toori”,”Trust me” and “Gekka reijin”.
    *O* can’t wait for another year-ender hitlist ^^
