Overusing CG much?

OP: “Datengoku Sensen” by ALI PROJECT

Ok, ok, so this anime gets the obligatory seasonal ALI PROJECT song for Fall. I actually like the first few seconds of it with the slow, jazzy start, until the songs gets fast and I’m like, noooooo, not another ALI PROJECT-ness OTL. The visuals are pretty interesting though, but overall this is an OP where the ‘forward’ button gets useful.

ED: “Light of Dawn” by Annabel

The ED was pretty ok. Not that bad, nor good. Here we have the main girls being shown with some music by Annabel, who previously sund CANAAN’s ED. But overall, there’s nothing memorable about it.

Oh dear, where would I start with the impressions? Let’s start off with those lousy CGs they used all through out the entire episode. It looks so painful to watch, especially the boats. Damn, my eyes are really burning.On the good side, we also have a glimpse of what the action is in store for this show, too. It’s quite alright. Blood is there, weapons and skills look cool, and I’m interested on the other characters’ skills as well.

I have mixed reactions about the character designs. Hamutz has a pretty hot body, but her face sometimes look freaky and manly. Maybe it’s because of how weird her lips look. And also, there’s this girl with a silly haircut. Some just suffer to hilarious character designs. Not a fan of it, to be honest. On a brighter note, the seiyuus are top-notch. We have Romi Paku, Yuuichi Nakamura, Miyu Irino, Ayako Kawasumi, and lots more.

The story is redeemable though, it’s quite intriguing, lots of terminologies are already introduced in the very first episode, and I’m really liking the concept so far with “Meats” and dead people turning to books and some magical library where we can learn their history.

Bottomline is, I’m really on the fence in this one. There’s a good side and there’s the much-less worse factors in the show. But the story looks very promising if you ask me, so let’s see how this goes.

    It just seems to me that it’s a really slow start. :red: It has potential though. I hope it doesn’t disappoint.

    Exactly what I’m thinking +_+ and if you gave her suspender she’ll look like Fujiwara Mokou from Touhou XD

    Same reaction with you on the OP. I like the first few seconds until they got into the generic ALI PROJECT main part.

    Ok, Hamuts (or whatever her name’s spelled) is pure JANKNESS. I thought at first that she’ll be very alluring but she looks so draggish and just jank on some parts. Though I ABSOLUTELY LOVE her seiyuu (Paku Romi <333). Hope my impressions on her would change because she seems cool~

    The other girl is also jank. Her haircut reminds me of some freaky character I just can't remember.

    I kinda like the guy with green hair *AAA*. And his weapon ish cool <33. The "Meat" guy is really interesting because he's voiced by Miyu Irino who also voiced Reiji in Phantom. OIC @ their similarities on how they look and how emo-sappy they are at the start XDD.

    ALI Project… ^^;

    Meh, not much to say about the OP and ED either. They sound nice but I’d rather much skip it.

    & yea, why does Hamuts look so manly? D8 That ribbon in her hair doesn’t look good either.
    But anyways, I was really satisfied with the seiyuu cast (omg, such an awesome cast and Paku Romi!!! <– nuff said x3) and the plot. It's going to be a pain trying to remember all that vocab but I like the concept about dead people turning into books so yea. XD;

    Oh, and dehumanization terms are the new rage. MEAT! MEAT MEAT MEAT! Aha, fun~ :ohohoho:

    Agreed with the CGI abuse, but the story didn’t seem too bad.

    What happened to the white haired armed libarian who jumped into the water first. Did he just die like that? Disappointing.
