Reality TV Fix: American Idol Season 8
The most popular singing contest that I know is back for this year and it’s now in their eight season! The Top 13 had also been chosen too. And I won’t let anything pass by from these contestants because I declare my early favorites from the competition!
Allison Iraheta is probably my number 1 favorite right now. She sure has that very weird personality that people might say that she’s boring but once she stood up and rock the mic, this girls is definitely brilliant! I absolutely love her take on “Alone”, which is a big song btw, so great job for her taking on that and impressing the judges so much. Plus she’s only 16! God, of all things I really want was the talent of singing and I was not blessed with that T_T. Lol.
As for the guys, who could ever hate Kris Allen? He’s so adorable and I just wanna pinch his face every time he opens his mouth. I really love his rendition of “Man in The Mirror”. And of course, there’s Adam Lambert. He’s my other bet to win this thing. Why? Cause he’s so talented, hot, everything! His version of “Satisfaction” is just… Uh how should I put it.. HOT. One thing I just can’t accept was when Randy Jackson compared him to Edward Cullen (Twilight), I was like, whut?! But anyway, I’m predicting this guy will go far because fangirls (I am!) will go for him all the way.
This season also has their dose of single moms, Megan Corkery and Lil Rounds. I love Megan because she’s so gorgeous. I sorta have a girl-crush on her. Plus she is very fun, quirky, not to mention she sings in her original way. I really love her style of singing. And my final favorite would be Lil Rounds, because she sings so well plus her name’s so cool XD. She shouldn’t be compared to Fantasia (season 3 winner) since I heard so much people doing this already. OMG her vocals were just… O_O big. And clever too, with adding “call this show if you cant be with out me baby” to the lyrics of Mary J. Blidge’s “Be Without You”, that was really clever XD.
My other favorites would be Jorge (the Spanish? Is he Spanish or Puerto Rican or both XD? w/e), Alexis (because of the cute pink streak in her hair ^^ but lol, there’s so much single moms in this season XD), and the drama queen Tatiana. Hell I love Tatiana! I really thought she would be chosen as one of the wildcards but unfortunately she didn’t made it T_T. But she really has a good voice! Oh, and the blind man (forgot his name) which performance really brought me to tears. He’s so awesome too. The competition is currently now to their Top 13 (yea, not 12 anymore, and it’s all because of Anoop).

Ah, Kris, the “non-threatening male” contestant. Adam is gay, but props for voice. All of my favorites have already gone home, as for Anoop, he was my favorite at the beginning. The judges decided that he was likable, but in the end his voice disappointed me. I’m sure they do pitch corrections for early auditions because this season’s “talent” pretty much sucks. Who *should* win? Adam. The biggest lol? The blind guy. I’m pretty sure Danny is going to win.

Knowing a thing or two about this season considering my mom is obsessed in watching it(ugg), I couldn’t help but notice we have completely different taste. For example Allison, is probably my least favourite contestant, I don’t mind the weird but she annoys me. Adam Lambert just seems way to fake and Kris Allen isn’t that bad because as you mentioned, he’s cute :blush: Megan Corkery does have an interesting voice when she puts her spin on things and Lil Rounds was just obviously going to make the top 13…
My personal favourite is Anoop! He’s so kind and can sing really well. I knew he would be my favourite the moment I walked into the room with the television on and before he even sung, I said “He’s my favourte!” :XD: For me, it’s the only reason that makes American Idol worth wasting my time with.
