Denpa Teki na Kanojo OVA
The story revolves around Juuzawa Juu, who encounters Ame Ochibana, a mysterious girl who suddenly vows him her complete loyalty. Together they encounter murder cases in their time by a wacko serial killer. Warning because some scenes may be disturbing and spoilers ahead too.
So far as the graphic scenes go, I don’t really mind them, but I might warn some because this contains a rape scene at the start of the OVA. Blood can’t also be avoided with scenes of the victims being murdered by the psycho killer. I just felt that some scenes could be very predictable. The real gold though in this show is the background music. It really gets you into the atmosphere and I thought it matches every frame well.
Ame definitely needs to go see a psychologist. But I can’t deny the fact that she’s overwhelmingly cute at times. I thought that them being childhood friends was cliche, rather than connected in their previous lives. But I still thought that the author did a good job linking it. She was a good heroine overall, with mysteriousness and cuteness combined. As for the main male, it shows that a tough delinquent like him also has his sentimental and lonely side. But obviously the character that surprised me was Ryuugu Rena (f*ck yeah, name same from Higurashi and she looks like her too imo).
And she never gives up until all of your bones get broken…

Overall, this is definitely nice for a 40-minute OVA. It’s too graphic and may be shocking for some, but it goes along well with the plot. And speaking of the plot, this takes place like, more or less than 10 years after Kure-nai, right? So maybe we would be seeing some Kure-nai preferences in here too. Can’t wait for the next episode to clear things up with some things I’ve missed.

I was going to watch this based on what I read off the quick synopsis of it but they LIED to me. ::O: *doesn’t do well with gore*

I watched it on a whim but it hooked me pretty fast…
The rape scene is not that graphic; you don’t actually get to see anything. The emotional impact of the scene though was far worse (creepy). The gore was definitely there and I admit was a bit too much for me.
The storyline however, and the characterisation is the real gem here. Solid, layered and nuanced.
A definite must watch. I look forward to the second episode.
