Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae: 01 – …And I’m in desperate need of subbers…

Why the hell is this show not being subbed yet? They are so missing one of the best sequels this season IMO. Anime’s Next Top Model winner Enma Ai is back for the third season of Jigoku Shoujo!!!

Episode 1: The Girl Who Was Taken

OP Theme: Tsukihana by Nana Kitade – The OP sequence was horrible but they had managed to changed it on the second episode. Song-wise, I’ll miss SnoW since she did a great job and the previous two seasons. This one though, may take some time for me to get used to.

The series starts off with a wandering butterfly around. Then we went into a shop where a small spider can be seen in the foreground. With her unique doll-inspired entranced, we meet Kikuri again for the first time this season. Then we see Ren scrubbing the floor in a somewhat bathhouse.

Ren had just reminded me of Hosaka of Minami-ke…

Heehee…

Why do they have to make the camera focus in here??? O_O

A naked boy appears out of the water who has a sinister look on his face, surprising Ren. Ren questions him as to who he is, and the boy does not respond. Then we see Wanyuudo operating a bulldozer. Kikuri annoys him again and runs over him, only to get chased.

Meanwhile, Hone Onna is working as a bar tender, she then observes a blue butterfly. She has a vision of her in a mirror, which causes her to tear up. At the twilight world, the boy’s name is revelead to be Yamawaro, whom which obeys Kikuri’s mischieviousness.

Now we get into our client of the week. It’s a student named Itsuka, which has a great dislike on her Mathematics teacher (I can relate XD), Tange… Itsuka, along with her friends Akie and Yuzuki, plans to find a way to get of the teacher. Itsuka attempts to get her friend Akie, to ask her father to fire the teacher before, but she failed.

Let’s take a bath together…

Yuzuki, Itsuka’s friend, is being followed by a blue butterfly, which was Ai herself. As she was taking a bath, a hand reached out from her and Enma Ai herself came from under the bathtub to hug her. She then pulls Yuzuki into the waters and she got kissed by Enma Ai… After that, the gained her consciousness but she didn’t knew that there is a blue butterfly mark on her back.

Meanwhile, Itsuka had her hatred grew deeper and deeper to the point that she would even get herself caught in the situation. She plans with Yuzuki to take a picture of her with him going to a love hotel. Instead, she ran into her father, being mistaken as Tange, and just became scolded by her parents.

I haven’t seen this for quite a while.

After that huge embarassment, she plans on sending the teacher to hell. She entered the Hell’s Correspondence and met Enma Ai. The doll of the week was the newbie Yamawaro, which became a yellow doll. Itsuka was disappointed that she’ll go to hell too when she died if she accepted the contract. It made her almost cancel her agreement but Ai still gave the doll to her.

The next day at school, Itsuka still manages to be disobedient by putting on her *MP3 Shuffle while on classes (girl, you need some rules!). Tange scolds her again and confiscated her *MP3 Shuffle. Ater school, Itsuka finally got full of Tange and sends him to hell, by pulling the string. [*it looks like an iPod Shuffle XD]

Yuzuki, her friend which encountered Enma Ai earlier on the episode, followed her but instead, she got in terrible pain (surrounded in flowers XD) and got a fetus-like vessel which contains Enma Ai. Enma Ai then bursts out from her body and then it’s punishment time!

Enma Ai is back, biatches.

Ippen Shinde Miru?

After sending him to hell, Akie shows up and returns the iPod to her, explaining that it was from Tange’s favor. The notebook thing which Tange lists up the violations seems also like a fluke, because only doodles are found there. Itsuka realized that Tange was not bad at all for he only wants to see the nerves of his students… She ends up regretting her faults but it’s too late since the contract had been made and Itsuka will be going to hell too.

ED Theme: Ichi Nuke by Enma Ai A.K.A. Noto Mamiko herself – I always love Jigoku Shoujo ED’s. The art is once again colorful, vibrant and stylish. Just like the previous two seasons. One of my fave ED’s this season.

Kan Chats…

Ok, that kissing scene was pure blergh and incoherent… JS returns once again with its stylish animation and artsy designs. Ai’s kimono is very cute, though her season 2 was more fabulous… Anyway, I’m not here to discuss about her ashion statement so let’s move on XD. I don’t think I loved this show because it creeps me (unlike Higurashi). I loved this show because of how it shows some angst and drama that can happen in reality. Though it also shows that revenge is not the perfect solution for it and it shouldn’t be given yet until we fully understand the situation. This happens to Itsuka’s case. Her hatred for her teacher overflowed herself and didn’t even had the chance to reflect, or let the teacher explain. She just wasted two lives: the innocent teacher’s and herself.

Enma Ai is back though, with no explanation on how yet. Yuzuki seems to be the next Tsugumi, but instead, Ai is inside of her and she has some contact with the clients of Ai. About the new servant Yamawaro, he’s still fanservice for shotacons out there but a background episode would be interesting because all e did was to pop out naked from the water wth.

I’m so excited on this series but what disappointed me is the lack of fansubbers though… So I’m relying on my raw understanding skillz ^_^.
