As I had feared, the finale for Gokukoku no Brynhildr turned out to be one big mess. I could go on and on about everything wrong with it, but I will spare you the effort of reading a wall of text. Instead, let me briefly summarize the main reason for the show’s failures; it tried to do way too much in too little time. The show could have gone with a much more relaxed pacing and actually told a coherent tale if it had ended with the gang’s triumph over Kikako or perhaps even the incident with Nanami. And if you’re worried that this might not have been enough material, I understand a significant amount was cut from the adaptation. So by stopping the story short, the anime could taken the time to reintroduce some of these lost elements and won back some points in the faithfulness department.
And not a single fuck was given that day.
Sure, doing this might have left fans of the source material hungry to see more adapted into anime form. But surely telling a smaller part well is a lesser sin than butchering a larger part of an ongoing story. Besides, had Gokukoku no Brynhildr gone this route it could have wrapped things up successfully enough to open the table for future seasons to satiate the appetite of its fans anyway. Obviously such a happy development isn’t necessarily going to happen, but at least this way the show could have stood strong on its own even if things were left a bit open-ended. But alas, that’s not what happened. So all that’s left now is to lament the wasted potential of what seemed at first to be a relatively intriguing story.

I dunno. People reading the manga claim it is vastly superior to the anime. Maybe they managed to selectively cut out only the good stuff lol. Of course, it’s likely manga readers are biased, but as far as I am aware every single one of your complaints here (which are very valid points that I would also quote) are completely anime-original.

Even if the sequence of shooting him with machine guns was shorter in the manga, the point is that a body won’t stop 3 bullets, much less 300. If they’re shooting him from, what, 25 feet away, they’re going to go through him and hit Mako, who was not able to protect herself. But no, not a single bullet even made it past Chisato, so he’s apparently made of some sort of super-liquid. That’s what made it stupid, not really the quantity of bullets.

LOLOLOL this episode was so random for me! Kuroneko gained her memories for what a good five minutes only to lose them again after her big DBZ sky fight? WHHAAAT LMAO LOLOLOLOL
Overall this series had some funny moments like Kuroneko asking for a virginity along with her goofy ass songs and constant blushing, sadly that was not enough to make the entire series fun or interesting…

Gokukoku no Brynhildr left much to be desired. Likable characters aren’t enough to elevate from how far it sank story wise.
Rumors were buzzing about considerable amounts of material getting nerfed. The finale closed very messily with no further explanation from the alien aspect apart from them being responsible for leading humanity where it is now that got spotlight at the last moment. A shame since my hope of this turning out good was based solely on the fact the author for Elfen Lied was behind the story.

Like many other suggested, its best to just ignore the last 3 episodes and jump straight into the manga instead. They stuff they skipped can make up at least one more season.
Well, the manga also doesn’t have a lot to say abt the aliens either. But its understandable since the series is still on-going after all.
