Fantasista Doll – 06

Akari is winning for cutest doll.

After a one week break Fantasista doll returns! I hope you are still enjoying this episode because Akari is up this week for her own character themed episode, but will her story be something sad and dramatic as Shimeji? Probably not…

Extra magical fun

Nothing like random bondage to bring the team together.

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

Kagami x Uzume, yes! Everything Kagami says to Uzume works with it.

I feel like Mina should have had her own episode so that we could have had a proper Akari episode :/. It’s not that I don’t like Mina, she just has a back story, so she should have gotten more time rather than this one episode appearance. And then the battle could have been a bit longer. The whole area change was pretty cool. For once they’re not fighting out in public where anyone can see them.

Oh well, I’m glad we can start to move to the plot next episode, assuming character episodes are over. They were nice, I just wouldn’t mind seeing some more about this Dream Group.

      I support this ship <3

True I feel they missed a good chance for a interesting arc on how some of the wishes work, but I assume they decided to skip that because of the limited amount of episodes to work with? Also I feel the same about this being a wasted episode for Akari >.< Yes now we can finally focus on the main story xD

well give bit on wonder about black give show her loyal to uzume.

give should mention cat is out of the bag since uzume’s sister found saw all 5 uzume’s doll together.

& yea with all this now back to series & wonder who are these “mutual dream group” that place bounty on uzume?

  3. Highway says:

This show is proving to be pretty shallow, I think. It certainly doesn’t have the depth of Day Break Illusion.

I still think there’s some level that Uzume just doesn’t understand about this card game. She’s got the most powerful dolls, every time they fight they wreck shop. This was the closest they came to losing, and it really wasn’t that close, especially once Uzume got them equipped.

The Mutual Dream Assurance Group seems like a bunch of clowns. They seem to hire everyone, with no coherent strategy. And everyone just goes along with it, even though the rewards seem pretty weak.

    • HannoX says:

Yes, it’s shallow. You’re supposed to accept it just for what it is–a magical girl moe-fest. Besides the moe girls it really has nothing going for it. Sometimes that’s all you’re looking for and I prefer the character designs here to those of Day Break Illusion. But, yeah, you’re right that DBI has a better story. I’m watching both, but I’d never consider buying either. Neither’s going to achieve the iconic status of Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura or Madoka Magica in the magical girl genre. If they’re entertaining enough of a way to spend the time it takes to watch them, that’s all most anime are. And the latter can also be said about most American TV and movies.

    • Foshizzel says:

@Highway: Yeah Fantasista Doll is very light and fluffy just like PreCure to me while Day Break is more Madoka which I kind of hate because I dislike that comparison but oooh well that is how it goes and just like PreCure the villains are quite dumb…

@HannoX: Yep Fantasista is moe while Day Break is more depressing xD

Fantasista Doll really is the opposite of Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou in many ways. While the latter is dark and dramatic, the former is fluffy and optimistic but while being a decent watch, it doesn’t do much to make the story compelling.

Hmmm… That doll museum Miina invited everyone to was creepy and gave me chills. It was like back in that similar building in Another that Mei usually visits. And it was weird listening to a human calling her dolls “Master”. She must have been really mentally broken. For a moment I thought that field change card would have given a field power bonus to any cards that had dark attributes. There was sudden Yu-Gi-Oh! nostalgia in that scene.

Uzume is way too carefree letting the secret of her dolls get blown like that when her sister. However, I can’t imagine what excuse she could have come up with to explain the multiple voices in her room.

    • HannoX says:

Multiple voices explanation–she was playing a game? Of course, it’d have to have been an eroge not to want her sister to see what it was.

I wonder if they’re going to do anything about her sister discovering the dolls, or if they’re just going to drop it and have her sister think they were just friends visiting. Which wouldn’t explain how all those girls got into Uzume’s room without anyone else in the family seeing them arrive. But then this show’s got so many plot holes that you could drive the starship Enterprise through, why worry about one more?

    • Foshizzel says:

@BB: I like how both are DIFFERENT instead of both series trying to be the same thing, but honestly in the world of magical girls what can you really do to be different than PreCure, sailor moon or Madoka Magica? Not a whole lot…unless you do something like Vividred Operation and showcase tons of random fanservice? I guess that COULD work for some.

I am surprised Uzume’s sister did not spill the beans to her mom about Katia and all the other girls in the room ahaha

@HannoX: I know right? I thought for sure that Uzume’s sis would run out to tell her mom what she saw but I assumed if that happened the dolls would escape into the phone world xD

      • Gecko says:

With magical girls, I really don’t think anything can be done for originality. I’m just watching this because the character designs are cute. I don’t really care about much else. I don’t have to think when I watch this, and that’s a nice break for me.

If anything, the one thing this show could do is have Uzume’s mom and sister find out about the dolls, but who knows if they would take that route? Or what they would do with it.

        • Highway says:

Well, it’s not like the anime has made a huge deal of the difference between people and dolls. As far as can be told, the dolls are people: sentient, self-aware, corporeal. Apparently they draw some of this from Uzume’s phone thingy, but there’s not really much difference.

        • Foshizzel says:

@Gecko: True I guess the differences come down to character designs and themes! Like Illya is more action based especially during the battles with the heros I forgot about that xD

I figured Uzume’s little sister would run out and tell her mom!

@Highway: Yeah I feel the same about the dolls they do seem to be self aware of everything! I keep thinking they have human bodies somewhere in a lab or were once human but turned into dolls? Of course I don’t think they would do that in Fantasists because it does feel more cute/moe
